Dissapointed in 1st team . sickened by aguayo. Great about hargreaves and glennon (as backup)

  2. SCBucsFan Says:

Disappointed their starters beat our starters. Our backups where a lot better this week. Praying New Orleans cut Barth.

    Praying New Orleans cut Barth.

so we can sign an aging weak legged kicker coming off a bad season. yeah that’s good business…

  4. SCBucsFan Says:

I didn’t pick a kicker in the second round who has missed three preseason kicks. That’s bad business. I was joking anyway.

  5. unbelievable Says:

Connor Barth Matt Bryant were the best two kickers we eve had and we cut them both for worse replacements.

I’m not giving up on agauyo by any means but if he’s this shaky he needs to go to practice squad while someone competent comes in for a year.

Feels like we’ve been cursed since we cut Bryant.

I loved getting a win, but it means nothing really. What DOES mean something is how certain players are developing. Vernon H. is doing very well.

And I need to give PROPS to two players:

Grimes. His pass defense is supernatural. I understand he got beat once or twice, but for the most part, he put on a clinic.

Glennon. This one surprised me. He was actually more mobile! As a result, he looked more like a starter (almost). Way to add a sliver of value to a trade!

    NO PROPS, BUT…

I’m not at all worried about Aguayo. Not yet. I have seen rookie kickers (and vets) miss plenty of preseason field goals, and then come out and be top 5 kickers in the league.

Whether people wish to admit it or not, Aguayo will need a few games to gel. Better to do it now than in the regular season. Come September 11th, if his trend continues, then I might start worrying, but I think most of you are blowing it all out of proportion.

This rough PRESEASON start will mean nothing if he plays like a HoFer the next 14 years.

  7. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

    @unbelievable

You CANNOT put him on the practice squad. He would never…NEVER clear waivers.

All he needs is a little patience.

    @SCBucsFan

Just curious…but which starters beat which of our starters?

  9. SOEbuc Says:

With all the Jags penalties it was hard to tell what were good plays or not. First team on both sides didn’t look good. Jameis looked sluggish with soft throws. Plenty of drops that should of been caught. There were a lot of runs. With Dougie not playing Sims didn’t look good. Im hoping thats because he was just trying to take it easy and not going full speed compared to him still feeling the injury. Glennon looked good. Mike James had a very good night. Howard Jones showed up again. VH3 with his picks was great. Loved to see Ryan Smith get the pick to close it out. Please God let Cam Brate be okay.

Adding from my last comment, return team looked good. Preseason but we’re not even gonna get started on Aguayo

  11. SOEbuc Says:

One more thing (dammit Joe why can’t I edit my comments), ASJ had some good catches but I think I saw him getting up a little shaken after one of them (hmmm…interesting)

  12. BigPoppaBuc Says:

We looked very sluggish tonight. I’m going to chalk it up to the joint practices and being in the brutal back end of training camp. I saw heavy legs and mental mistakes. I’m not too upset about it, but our starters need to play well for an entire half next week.

  13. Poor Glennon Says:

Remember if you thought he was a good pick. Stick to your guns. However it turns out. All that talk about kicker’s being important. A 3-4 kicker gets the team 3 more points on the board. Over the 2-4 bad kicker. Except we spent a 2nd rounder on a guy that will cost us the 3 points a game. Sad

  14. Rob Says:

Jameis was TERRIBLE. The defense was non existent. Roberto has the shanks. If it wasnt for Jacksonville committing so many penaltys we were nothing short of a dumpster fire.

  15. BuccaneEric75 Says:

Definitely disappointed in Winston and Aguayo. Pass rush wasn’t there. Still plenty of time to work everything out. I bet Bucnut2 loved this game, and I’m sure he’ll tell us all about it.

  16. Cobraboy Says:

    Cripes, c’mon people!

It’s the 2nd preseason game, against a team they banged heads with twice this week!

Koetter said he wanted to work on the running game, so he ran…a LOT.

    No real game planning!

And as long as I’ve been watching the NFL I can clearly state: there is NO cause-and-effect in preseason performance as a team and regular season success. None.

Nothing is EVER as good or as bad as it seems in preseason games.

Besides: a “meh” game gives the coaches good reason for some spirited “coaching moments” during the week.

  17. Buccfan37 Says:

Yeah, the Bucs did get drubbed, yet a miracle happened, they actually won a meaningless game against a decent Jags team.

  18. Milenkosoe Says:

A win is a win. Kicker needs to be better and we’ve seen what Jameis can do. Just NFL & Chill.
