“Von Miller Who?”

Rookie defensive end Noah Spence got an earful at One Buc Palace.

Bucs rookie Noah Spence is a very laid back kind of guy, at least what he’s shown to media and fans so far.

Joe talked to Spence after practice today for a while, with an interesting interruption mixed in.

A fired up Bucs fan bolted up, interrupted the chatter and starting barking at Spence. “You should have never gotten on out of that first round. He’s going to be better than Von Miller. Von Miller who?”

Spence laughed, flashed a big grin and really seemed to soak it up and thanked the fan. So Joe turned the conversation to how Spence feels when he is showered with love like that.

“It’s a blessing to have those types of fans. I love the atmosphere here for practice,” Spence said. He went on to say he got plenty of that same kind of reaction around the Tampa Bay area in the spring and summer from random fans.

Yes, it’s a lot different comparing One Buc Palace to Eastern Kentucky, where Spence settled for after getting booted by Ohio State.

Bucs fans are jacked up at the mere thought of bagging a true edge rusher. Spence is primed for a lot of love — heck, maybe even a statue on Dale Mabry — if he can deliver.

If he can give us 10-12 sacks a season, that will would be great. He don’t have to be another Von Miller, just be Noah Spence.

  2. LifeOfABucFan Says:

I liked the pick at the top of round 2 based on the hype. Now I’m looking toward to seeing what this kid can do. Will be front and center for a few camp practices. Can’t wait to see this kid up close.

Von Miller? Seriously? Have they already legalized marijuana in Florida?

  7. LovieBall Says:

The dude is a beast. Saw some video of him punishing a sled from practice today.

  8. Kevin Says:

This guy is going to be a complete beast, I can just feel it. Bucs are going to be a scary team feared by many!!!!!

Listen he has to put up the numbers to back it up before he can compare himself to Von Miller…he gets that and we all get that.

I’m not in his head but I get the impression that he’s happy with fans and pundits using his name in the same breath with Miller but that in his own head he thinks scrw that…I don’t want to be as good as Miller…I’m going to be BETTER.

Without a resume…as a rookie..he obviously can’t reveal those thoughts without sounding disrespectful. But Spence has a reputation as real competitor with a high motor…I don’t think his type imagine being “as good” as anybody…they want to be THE BEST. Just ask #3.

  10. Mike Johnson Says:

Spence has yet to make one QB sack in this league. Until he does that? He’s just a Hopeful…DE. He’s gota put it on film and paper. I will guarantee you fellow Buc fans this, If we cannot pressure the opposing QB’s any better than we did Last yr? Look for more losses. And that’s a fact jack!

  11. Kevin Says:

Press man coverage alone will increase sack totals. Im suprised we got any under lovie the way he sent our beat corners to the bench and had toast and the other guy with the hard to remember name playing 15 yards off the recievers.

  12. Bucnut2 Says:

    That fan is an idiot!

  13. Kid Says:

    Cmon Mike
    Relax dude
    First day of camp
Be positive and focus on the fact that this “kid” spent his time with G Mac busting his tail and trying to get ready for this next level. If you don’t love the bucs…well then….Buc off!!!
