Koetter More Anxious Than Nervous

April 26th, 2016
Anxious.

Anxious.

Tuesday was the day Bucs coach Dirk Koetter had long, long, long dreamed of — to lead a group of men onto a football field.

While the field was a practice field behind One Buc Palace, and it was underwear football, Koetter finally directed a football practice as an NFL head coach.

Koetter noted he was nervous as the Bucs hit the field, finally realizing his goal. But Koetter also stated he was more anxious than nervous.

Practice was so fast-paced, Koetter noted, he could not focus on one specific player. This will be the norm, Koetter said, as he wants fast-paced practices. The force players to communicate more and stay on their toes, he said.

When practice ended, Jameis had the team huddle up and you could hear Jameis from damn near Jesuit High School holler, “It feels good to be out here. It feels so good to be out here, baby! It feels so good to be out here — on three… !”

Now that’s all exciting. A new beginning with a blank slate, the possibilities are through the roof. You know it, I know it and the league knows it. Go Buccaneers!

  2. Pickgrin Says:

May the football gods be with you coach Koetter as you embark on this journey that hopefully leads to MULTIPLE Buccaneer Super Bowl victories.

  3. Love and Warrick Dunn Says:

So weird to have an off-season where it’s the defense that needs to catch up to the offense.

    Is this Tampa?

“Koetter noted he was nervous as the Bucs hit the field, finally realizing his goal”….YEAH HE BETTER BE NERVOUS….this team has one set back and he may be canned…he’s already entering the season on a warm seat and a losing streak with turn that into a hot seat in a hurry….

I do like the fact that he has implemented a fast pace practice sense teams are going more no huddle….I think that’s a great idea….win 10games and get us in the playoffs….GO BUCS!!!!

Filling in for Mike Johnson in his absence.

    Mike Johnson Says:

    @813 bucboi
2-14 didn’t get lovie fired.Lovie had plenty of rope and we all know what happened.

  10. BucfaninTn Says:

They have crushed many times before, but I have already got hopes set high for this team. My god just having an actual NFL QB makes me giddy.

  11. Kevin Says:

Koetter wont get fired for setbacks. Hes a rookie head coach and setbacks are expected as long as progress is being made over all.

Lovie was a veteran head coach with years of experience and his team got consistently worse one defense and showed little confidence in his system. Not even close. Koetter has three years unless its as bad as lovies term and that would be pretty tough to match those pathetic two years.

  12. Pat Says:

    Prior to Koetter, we had a total of 10 Head Coaches…only 2 had above .500 records: Dungy +10. & Gruden +2. #11GO.BUCS!
