Devante Bond Highlights

April 30th, 2016
New Bucs linebacker Devante Bond.

New Bucs linebacker Devante Bond.

Gerald McCoy will be happy. A new Sooner is coming to the Bucs.

That would be sixth round pick Devante Bond, a linebacker.

However, there is no video of him at Oklahoma. A transfer from Sierra Community College, Bond missed four games and was hurt. But from the video below of him at Sierra Community College, the dude is fast.

Bond is No. 52.

Cool. Special teamer. Could develop behind our star studded LB crew and become a decent back up.

  2. Destinjohnny Says:

Dude had 47 sacks in one game

  3. Scurvy Dogs Says:

I know it’s JUCO, but WOW. This guy will be a DE.

  4. Greg Says:

Wrong Sooner, I think the Bucs mistook him for Eric Striker! Bad pick here, I don’t know what they saw in this guy, he only played 8 games or so at OU.

  5. DemBoyzFromDaBay727 Says:

Lol 47 sacks in one game?? He prob. Would of went 1st overall if that was true…lol

  6. Trubucfan22 Says:

Ok. Now that i watched the highlight reel… Holy jesus fock. 17 sacks in a season!?!? Sure it was some pitiful community college but damn that number sounds awesome. From the video it is clear he is a stand up DE (3-4 olb) so he can develop into a situational pass rusher for the Bucs.

Push Robert Ayers to the inside and have this guy come off the edge on passing downs. Im sure he is a raw talent and will need some time to develop which is why he is late round pick. But he does have some pass rush potential.

  7. Guzzie Says:

Whatever he won’t make it out of training camps

  8. Josh Says:

Not bad… lets just make sure we get a FB (Dan Vitale or Glenn Gronkowski)

  9. Guzzie Says:

WR Mike Thomas RB Keith Marshall S Jeremy Cash S Tyvis Powell FB Dan Vitale FB Glenn Gronkowski WR Charone Peake and we take this guy LOL

  10. Guzzie Says:

    WR Kolby Listenbee too

  11. Trubucfan22 Says:

Im dubbing him “the QB Punisher”. Punisher for short.

  12. DemBoyzFromDaBay727 Says:

Ya I’m surprised they didn’t go with the other sooner LB in Striker. O well. One more picky. Maybe Monkeys boy WR Mike Thomas from southern miss

  13. rayjay1122 Says:

So we now have a Devonte and Lavonte….and two Spences. Know I know that they are just out to screw with Deckerhoff

  14. DemBoyzFromDaBay727 Says:

    *Monkens boy

  15. BUC_40 Says:

It’s gonna be interesting to see what CB’s make the team. Plenty of bodies now!

  16. DemBoyzFromDaBay727 Says:

Must u remind me Guzzie? Would love to see Cadh’so name or even Mike Thomas. A actual need at one of our positions instead we draft the positions were strong at in CB and LB. Frustrating.

  17. Pat Says:

    Was that LT? Wow.

  18. ChanEpic Says:

So we couldn’t have grabbed this guy in the supplemental? Was he on that many GMs radar?

  19. martinii Says:

The last 2 picks really demonstrate the deep dive research our scouts do. I never heard of these guys until today, but the more I read about Bond he is going to be great special teamer. Benenoch can play tackle and guard and while he is a project he the OL back-up we can deal with.

    Bugs just picked Vitale!!!!

  20. Buccfan37 Says:

I have a feeling the Bucs draft grades won’t be very high. But what do they know. I saw where Pete Prisco gave the Aguayo pick an F, only 1 or 2 more got that grade. Where did the Browns get all those picks, 5 WR so far.

  21. COREYATX Says:

37, the Browns traded back twice in the first and at least once in another round, I believe.

  22. Stanglassman Says:

It looks like the Bucs are converting Bond to a DE.
