Miko: Jameis Is “Family”

March 14th, 2016
Jameis worked his charisma.

Jameis worked his charisma.

For a while there, with so many free agents visiting One Buc Palace last week yet leaving empty handed and signing elsewhere, Joe began to wonder where that killer recruiter was.

You know, America’s Quarterback, Pro Bowler Jameis Winston. His personality is among his greatest attributes, and his will to win would lure players from all across the NFL to the Bucs like flies to honey.

This wasn’t happening. And Joe wondered if Jameis had lost his magic. But no, Joe was wrong!

Apparently, behind the scenes, Jameis charmed Miko Grimes, the colorful, flamboyant wife of new Bucs cornerback Brent Grimes, so Miko Twittered over the weekend.

@iHeartMiko: i met Jameis at the pro bowl. i love his personality! what a future he will have! glad he’s family now. been a fan since FSU!

This is really good to see and Joe is happy that Jameis and Miko have hit it off already.

Joe is more geeked for this season to begin than Joe has been in years, probably not since Chucky was roaming the sidelines.

    Google: Miko Grimes birthday cake.

  2. WalkdaPlank Says:

    Lmao

  3. Rrsrq Says:

    @Mark,
    Wasn’t ready for that

  4. Elle Says:

I like the woman, I really do. She’s such a genuine person, in my opinion. But that cake is… no, just no. I mean, at least don’t post pictures of it around the Interweb.

  5. Bucs53 Says:

yup. there’s other Bucs sites. If I have to keep reading about Miko Grimes, I’m out, Joe. Sorry, but I want football not reality TV.

The only way “Miko Watch” is going to end is if we stop checking the articles and stop commenting on them. In other words, I think she’ll be a permanent fixture here. It really is smart by Joe. It isn’t likely he’ll lose any current visitors. If nothing else, it’ll attract a previously untapped fan base. For me, I could care less what she says.

I think Joe is trying to figure out if he can get her a column of her own, but unsure how to keep it family friendly. Maybe that birthday cake should be the pic used for all Miko articles.

  7. Harry Says:

I liked her before Brent became a Buc. Now with that B-day cake, I LOVE HER!!!!

  8. Harry Says:

I don’t understand the hate for Miko. And Joe writing about her, IMO, is no different than when Joe comment on something one of us write in her. Well, there is one difference – As a Bucs’ fan, Miko is more interesting than most of us

  9. gotbbucs Says:

Until Jameis throws a late game INT, then she’ll hate him.

  10. StPeteBucsFan Says:

I don’t get the Miko hate either. There is a time and a place for everything. The FA season is wrapping up and we have to wait a month and a half for some real news. Why not entertain ourselves with some of Miko’s antics.

In the meantime why do folks have problem simply avoiding threads they don’t like. It’s not as if you HAVE to read “Mikowatch”. You could easily scroll on by and read the threads that interest you.

Miko is a breath of fresh air. If you haven’t already, go on the internet and utube Brett Grimes and Miko. Miko is outspoken, attends all of the games and has a passion for football and life that grows on you. I too am as excited as I have been in a long time with our new coaching staff, recent FA signings, the upcoming NFL Draft and this season. Oh..Miko too!

  12. salish_seamonster Says:

This is great. Now we’re going to have Miko stories every day. No Johnny Football this year? No Jameis-yearning? Now we have Miko to make up for it. Ugh.

  13. Mike Johnson Says:

A rattlesnake always plays friendly and rattles friendly just before it strikes. And when it does strikes, its venom poisons and infects all contributory organs
around it causing havoc and chaos. Remember this Buc fans.

  14. feelthepewterpower Says:

Hope the team doesn’t lose focus….though, that’s difficult to assess seeing how our focus has been lack-luster.

  15. Buccfan37 Says:

I’m warming up to Miko also. Potentually the irate voice of unhappy Bucs fans near and far. Like a built in squawkbox.

  16. Luther Says:

Holy smokes! I know that cake didn’t come from Publix

  17. SCBucsFan Says:

Not looking forward to when she turns on this team.

  18. wesley Says:

Joe we don’t care what she thinks.

  19. bucs4life86 Says:

I hear ya Joe, a lot of optimism heading into next year. I’m geeked to see what this squad can do. Brutal schedule tho, so we’re gonna need all the fire power we can get.

And I don’t understand the Miko haters, she brings a lil entertainment, that’s it. If u don’t wanna read about her, don’t click on the article! Simple as that.
