Vincent Jackson Issues “Tribute To Dirk,” Wins Military Service Award

Vincent Jackson won a prestigious national NFL community service award today for his work with military families. Bravo!
Jackson also talked about it and all things Bucs on WDAE-AM 620 this morning.
Among other takes, Jackson said all his teammates were surprised by the ousting of Lovie Smith in favor of Dirk Koetter.
But Jacskon said Koetter was the best thing for Jameis — before he was fired — and he expects that to continue. Jackson emphasized Jameis’ explosive growth, from mechanics to reads, from the day he was drafted to the beginning of training camp.
Jackson emphasized that short window of time to illustrate just how far Jameis progressed last season, what he called a “tribute to Dirk,” as well as quarterbacks coach Mike Bajakian.

Vincent Jackson has always been a “pure” class act and his work with the military and military families has finally been recognized nationally. As a Marine, I have met and respect Vincent and wear his #83 jersey to every home game. When the time comes, I hope he retires as a BUC. CONGRATULATION VINCENT!!!

I give Koetter credit for giving our offense credibility. However we were 6-10 last year. Despite Lovie, Koetter shares in some of this blame. Koetters role is reversed now. HE must take the blame as HC. No more I did my job on one side of the ball. So We shall see how much Tribute MR. Koetter has coming during this upcoming 2016 season. Win? And he’s a King. Lose? And he shares a spot on the fishing bridge with Lovie and Schiano. Batter up HC Koetter.

Koetter does not desreve any of the blame. He did his job. He produced a serviceable offense and did a great job with Jameis.
Bill Walsh, Joe Montanta and Dwight Clark could not have overcame that crap show Defense Lovie trotted out there week in and week out. From Lovies poor personnel moves, to his bad game plans with NO adjustments, to his horrible game day management; he received exactly what he deserved his walking papers. You have every right to be skeptical of Koetter. I will not give him a free pass Koetter must win and win now however, koetter deserves NO blame for the crap show Lovie put on the field each week. No matter what there is no way in hell Koetter can be worse than what we just experienced the last 2 years.

Lovie had FULL control sir therefore Lovie takes FULL responsibility. it was not the offense loosing games every week or blowing leads it was Lovie the defensive guru’s side of the ball. Offense had a couple of bad days but Lovie’s defense had 16 bad days. Hell Koetter was not allowed to even pick ONE assistant coach for his offensive staff. The entire staff was Lovie’s crew. Lovie’s coaching staff was more like a non-profit charity than a professional staff. He had to deal with WR coach who was a personal assistant in chicago not even a coach. You clearly have your agenda no facts or objective views will change that.

Take away the drops last year and we have the #1 offense in the NFL and Jameis has over 5,000 yards passing. I don’t think Dirk can be blamed for our (slightly) underachieving offense & the 6-10 record.

I was a Lovie guy…and I still have to agree with this. I wanted Koetter here before Mike Smith was fired…because I knew that he was good with both styles of quarterbacks.
tmaxcon and I do not agree much. Hardly ever. But in this, he is 1000% right.

Also keep in mind…Koetter did not get to pick ANY of his staff the first year. Not even the WR coach. He can’t be held accountable for the drops.

I love VJax and respect everything he does. It’s hard to find class acts like him in the NFL. However, he makes way too much money and we need to half his contract to make room for some FA we depth. Isn’t that Bill Curry Ford check big enough?

Love me some VJax! You heard Jameis talk about how much he helped him, along with Mankins and Dougie.
Also, why do you guys still respond to Mike Johnson? He posts the same comments in every thread about Koetter. Obviously he has to prove himself dude, just like any other coach. Duh.

I always wanted to be a writer as well. Wrote a pretty short-to-long book while in High School. Gave it to my lit teacher for read. She came back and said that was phenomenal. Encouraged to me to write more stuff, then I just stopped. I don’t know why. I just stopped.
Congrats to Vjax though, awesome stuff.

I really hope VJ can retire here in Tampa Bay. One of my favorite Bucs players
