Clinton McDonald is not healthy enough to play

The Bucs are shorthanded today, missing starters on the both sides of the ball in Atlanta.

That’s reflected in the inactive list just circulated around the Georgia Dome press box.

Here’s the list of Bucs not wearing a helmet today:

Tim Jennings, Major Wright, Vincent Jackson, Austin Seferian-Jenkins, Clinton McDonald and third quarterback Ryan Griffin.

No big surprises, though now it seems Jennings wasn’t just being punished for one week. It’s not back-to-back healthy scratches for him.

Henry Melton and Akeem Spence must rise up in McDonald’s absence.

I recall a few GL slant TD’s where Jennings was beaten badly. I guess he’s at the stage in his career where you’ve got to turn experience and past accomplishments into tangible results.

It was only a few years ago that Jennings led the league in interceptions.

I think Lovie was afraid of “Peanut” Tillman’s injury history (multiple pectoral tears) and picked Jennings, his CB partner, hoping that his health, productivity and experience would benefit our secondary. The sad thing is that “Peanut” was injured last year and put out feelers to Lovie in hopes that Lovie would welcome his experience and productivity. Now he’s a very productive starter with Carolina. Score one for Rivera, again.

Man, that really chaps my butt that Jennings was available, healthy and is now exposed as being totally useless.

    Damn shame…!!!

Ask is he ever active. Year 2 what maybe 6 games? Stupid draft pick. High 2nd was always injured in college too. Could have had bad ass de or safety.
