“Panic Sacks” Plague Jameis Winston

Jameis sack

Get rid of the ball!

America’s Quarterback, Jameis Winston, took the postgame podium as a confident rookie tonight.

There’s no panic or head-hanging with Jameis, but he did talk about “panic sacks” against the Browns.

“I just didn’t want to take a sack,” Jameis said of his ugly interception. “In that situation, I just got to throw it around him or maybe throw it away. You know, one thing about panic sacks, they’re a [inaudible.]”

What exactly Jameis said about “panic sacks” was unclear to Joe. But it didn’t matter. The point was clear, and it was one Jameis made repeatedly: He must learn how to throw the ball earlier and out of danger, and avoid negative plays.

It’s a lesson Jameis has to learn immediately. It can’t be one of those mistakes that he repeats. The Bucs’ offensive line is surely going to keep testing Jameis. Wins and his health are at stake.

Even Brady/Manning would suck with that line.

  2. Buc1987 Says:

2 seasons away from goodness. Hang in there Jameis, I hope your body holds up.

  3. Kevin Says:

    Panic sacks????

You mean the same type of sacks we saw from Josh McCown last year????

Behind the same level of offensive line play as Josh McCown last year??

The same Josh McCown that ripped us a new ARSEHOLE tonight??

The same Josh McCown that looked like Drew Firkin Brees tonight????

If Winston is gonna get peppered with sacks and his ankle is still bummed come week 1….I’m saying it…start Glennon!!!

Jason hasn’t done a god job at all in his evaluation of o line in the draft as well as free agency.

  5. Captain Buc Says:

That’s it!! We are the Tampa “panic sack” Buccaneers!!! I have seen this exact same game play out over and over for the last 5 years. It all makes sense now.

  6. BucFan20 Says:

It was done on purpose. Just so he would be ready for the regular season!

  7. j Says:

lol americas soon to be retired quarterback. He’ll have david carr syndrome soon

  8. j Says:

Kevin we can’t start Glennon, he won’t sell tickets. Neither will Jameis after the fans see much more of his gimpiness

  9. gt40bear Says:

With this O-line, he’ll either learn quickly to get rid of the ball safely or he’ll be the next David Carr…or Rob Johnson! The BBQ brigade can either make him or ruin him!

I was late to the Fameis bandwagon. But I’m firmly on it now. Having said that I do not want him playing if his ankle is not right!

Yes the OL played poorly tonight. OL is perhaps the most important unit that needs to play together to cover each other’s arses. We have a long way to go to get that chemistry. But these guys seem to enjoy each other and I think they have purpose. They will continue to jell.

Coaches frequently like to divide the season into quarters…our first four games are going to be scary that’s for sure and like Joe I believe we MUST beat the Titans at home to build some confidence.

But if Fameis is gimpy sit him till he heals. The only thing worse than playing a young QB behind a young OL that has no chemistry yet is playing a gimply QB.

I am not suggesting MG8 is Fameis…but I do think MG8 is now a competent NFL QB and perhaps gives us a better chance to win if Fameis is really injured.

Jameis doesn’t have that dominant O-Line that he had at FSU to stand behind all day waiting for somebody to eventually break open. Kid is probably having culture shock right now. Just have to give him some time to get NFL experience

  12. Dreambig Says:

BrainBucs, you clearly did not watch any FSU games last year as their oline was a disaster, although probably not quite as bad as the Bucs last night.

  13. Buccfan37 Says:

87… wait two years for goodness, omg, my doctor told me he could only see me living two more years, trying to scare me, that was three years ago. It won’t take that long for the Bucs to be good.

  14. Skyline Crew Says:

Injury prone Jameis needs to throw the ball away. I’m not seeing much of a difference between Jameis and Mariotta right now. Both are rookies and both are making mistakes. This pro ready crap is a farce.

  15. Tampa Tony Says:

Gonna be a long year. I use to say we are the Browns of the NFC but I don’t wanna insult them

  16. BrianBucs Says:

    @ Dreambig

That must be why they went to the NFL

  17. Mord Says:

Is it me, or did the O-line play better without E(-D)S last week?

  18. Frees Snake Says:

The three musketeers, Lovie, Jason and Crab Legs! Idiots flock together, gonna be a long season! Hope new regime has brains!
