“Jameis Gets It”

Encouraging words from Jay Glazer.

Encouraging words from Jay Glazer.

As Joe noted earlier today, MMA-head Jay Glazer of FOX Sports did a drive-by hit at One Buc Palace this week where he got to hang out with his old pal, Bucs AC/DC-loving general manager Jason Licht.

Glazer, a name-dropper, told Buccaneers.com multimedia maven Scott Smith that he co-owns a gym in Hollywood with Brian Urlacher and that is how he got to be acquainted with Bucs coach Lovie Smith.

So, as Glazer wants you to do, finish the math and believe he is a Bucs insider.

Of course, Scott Smith asked Glazer’s thoughts on America’s Quarterback, Bucs signal-caller Jameis Winston, and Glazer raved about young Jameis.

“The thing about Jameis that I really like a lot is that a lot of these guys that come into the league… a lot of guys think because of Instagram and social media, that they’ve made it, and that they are already there,” Glazer said. “It takes a special bird to realize that in order to be great, the blueprint is out there. It’s not hard. You have to be willing to outwork everybody.

“Jameis has got it. He wants to be great.”

Joe can understand how the miserable haters, who can’t wait to dance on Jameis’ grave, will roll their eyes and mumble to themselves in between shoveling Pringles in their pieholes while prone in stale-beer-scented recliners wearing nothing but boxers, “Here we go again.”

But can they find a quote from a current or former teammate, or a current or former coach, that claims Jameis is some lazy slob? Joe can’t.

“shoveling Pringles in their pieholes while prone in stale-scented-recliners wearing nothing but boxers”, thanks for that mental image, you left out unshaven and farting, but spot on the haters. Lazy, Jameis is not. A lazy QB would not have scored that TD running last week. Fans, we have ourselves a determined competitor at QB.

A lot of people have been complaining about Winston’s footwork. I agree that it could be better, but hasn’t everyone seen Cam Newton’s footwork. His drop-back is the ugliest thing I have ever seen.

I love descriptive adjectives, details, etc….the “haters” line…I’m sure describes Supersam and crew to a T

You right Buccane Jamies will never be the prettiest but man he’ll produce those results. I was just thinking this very thing the other day.

Joe can understand how the miserable haters, who can’t wait to dance on Jameis’ grave,

Are there really any left. Virtually all of the hate on this blog has now shifted to Lovie for some reason.

I was never a Fameis hater, I was simply afraid of him off the field. But it seems pretty apparent that his 21st birthday and the close call of not being the top pick have made him mature. I’m happy for him on a personal level and I’m THRILLED for us as Buc fans.

I do not get the hate for either QB actually. Who is the better QB. Brett Favre or Aaron Rodgers? Wonder what a Green Bay fan would say? I see Brett Favre in Fameis and Aaron Rodgers in Mariota. Both can and perhaps will be great in their own way.

I’m a Bucs fan and thoroughly committed to Fameis now and so that makes me prejudiced. And while I truly admire Rodgers smooth silky style and his slick throws gotta say that Favre was actually more exciting.

Fameis will bring that. Some of those tight windows he threaded against the Bengals, especially Wright’s drop of the long 3rd pass were a thing of beauty.
We’ll all be hanging on the edge of our seats when he tries to make a play happen.

And let me be clear. Yes I’m very high and excited about this team and I’m calling for 10-6…but I realize Fameis is going to go to the well too often and toss some picks. Nothing ventured nothing gained. I trust Fameis fantatical desire to be the best and Koetter’s talent as OC to make sure the great passes outnumber the bad ones and that the net result will be positive…just like Favre.

Right. Proper gentleman recognize the inevitable success of Jameis and voice said opinion whilst sipping mineral water and nibbling on rice cakes as they walk on their Bowflex Treadclimbers. Way to stick it to the Plebians, Joe.
