The Winston Cash Breakdown

May 6th, 2015

Jameis WinstonFor the amateur accountants in Joe’s audience, the data geeks who obsess about salary cap numbers and assume they have something to do with winning, Joe’s got Jameis Winston’s contract info.

It comes via Twitter, from agent turned media guy Joel Corry.

“GTD” stands for guaranteed money. Don’t worry, the Bucs have a fifth-year option on Jameis. Hopefully, he’ll become the second Bucs-drafted quarterback re-signed by the team. Joe would be pleased to see backup Mike Glennon be the first.

  4. Chuck Says:

How much is this compared to the “maximum” allowed on rookie contracts according to new CBA?

  5. pick6 Says:

@Chuck, it is porbably a max contract. if not, every other guy behind him gets slotted for less also, and i just don’t think the Union would allow that. the only real negotiation with these slotted deals is the % guaranteed, and it sounds like JW’s deal is 100% guaranteed. pretty standard stuff following the new CBA

  6. Bannor Says:

plus the 17 million signing bonus.

I want to hear more about Ali Marpet. There are EXCELLENT articles on this Hobart college website about his achievements. I am getting very excited about the big fish in a small pond who then goes to the big pond and excels!

  9. OAR Says:

Oh…Hobart College….Well that makes more sense. I thought it was Hogwarts!

  10. Buccfan37 Says:

Hobart.. isn’t that a line of appliances or power tools or maybe ice machines?

  11. Louis Friend Says:

Great article on Ali Marpet from the Lions blogger pre-draft: http://espn.go.com/nfl/draft2015/story/_/id/12748156/ali-marpet-offensive-lineman-division-iii-hobart-college-surges-draft-boards

  14. JoeJoes Fungi Nails Says:

How much of that will Erica Kinsman get ?

  15. Mr Magoo Says:

Well, JJFN, if you read the police investigation reports she deserves nothing. I hope JW fights rather than takes the easy way out because she clearly was a willing participant. She should get the full publicity due her actions so that more of the public realizes the truth about that night.

  16. drdneast Says:

Some very funny remarks out here including yours JoeJoes but I believe Theodore’s is the best so far.

  17. Brandon Says:

Wow, that’s going to buy a lot of crab legs.

  18. BuccaneerBonzai Says:

The problem with the Erica Kinsman lawsuit is that juries are unpredictable. People or companies that are not at fault lose them all the time.

The smart thing is to settle, but if he does that, people will think he’s guilty.

    It’s a catch 22.

  19. Stanglassman Says:

True Bonzai. And that’s what she and the attorney are counting on, they will push to settle.
