The Buccaneers’ Remaining Draft Picks

May 1st, 2015

joemugshotAfter trades and wheeling and dealing, here’s where the Bucs stand on the draft board entering Day 3 of the 2015 NFL Draft.

Round 4 — 29th overall pick (result of swapped fourth-round picks with Colts in order to trade up this evening to draft guard Ali Marpet in Round 2).

Round 5 — 26th overall pick (result of ludicrous Jeremy Zuttah trade in 2014)

Round 5 — 32nd overall pick (result of pick swap in 2014 trade of Jonathan Casillas)

Round 6 — 8th overall pick (result of Mark Barron trade in 2014)

Round 7 — 1st overall pick (result of tanking for Jameis Winston in 2014)

Didn’t they trade a 5th to DET for Johnson? then get a 7th?

  2. Jolly Bucs Fan Says:

yeah we totally have two picks in the 7th

  3. Jfat Says:

    Yeah, the 2nd 5th pick is actually Detroit’s, we have 2 7’s.

  4. Trubucfan22 Says:

Patriots got Casillas by trading back 1 spot in the draft. Idk I find that funny. And that was about what he is worth.

  5. Trubucfan22 Says:

Are you guys sure it’s not for the 2016 draft

  6. #1OverallPick Says:

    That’s what i thought..

  7. bucs55 Says:

Have you Hurd anything for a trade for Glennon or Martin to get more picks

  8. nate Says:

Yeh thought we had two 7th picks!

  9. BuccaneerBonzai Says:

    AND we had 2 7ths.

I think Joe is drunk. lol.

Nope Joe is sober and accurate.–Joe

  10. MadMax Says:

    WR Kenny Bell
    LB Ben Heeney
    WR Deandre Smelter
    SS Ronald Martin

in that order…..Im dozing, see you guys tomorrow.

  11. lurker Says:

    lightning win game 1 in 2ot 2-1

  12. Love and Warrick Dunn Says:

    Lightning!!

  13. BuccaneerBonzai Says:

    MadMax

Bell is on my list too. Speedster and punt returner.

    Offensive Guard
    Daryl Williams

    Defensive End
    Marcus Hardison

    Tight End/Halfback/Fullback
Nick O’Leary (Winston’s best friend in college. Irish, perfect as HB)

    Offensive Wide Reciever/Returner
    Kenny Bell

    Punter
    Spencer Roth

  14. MadMax Says:

OH, DE Anthony Chickillo maybe in the 4th instead of Bell.

  15. snook Says:

Johnson wasn’t a free agent signing. Are you drunk? Remember the trade with Detroit?

  16. Luther Says:

I laugh at this draft. MANY people here wanted us to trade down out of the first pick and take Petty or Hundley. Those guys are still on the board going into the 4th round. I actually wouldn’t mind picking up Petty and trading Glennon.

  17. MadMax Says:

Good picks Bonzai! I cant believe I forgot about Chickillo.

Him or Bell would be awesome in the 4th or 5th.

And Spence for punter….dude is big enough to tackle too, lol.

  18. lurker Says:

    great day for tampa bay!

    bucs’ draft
    rays’ win
    lightning’s win

  19. Louis Friend Says:

JOE – The Johnson signing turned into a trade with Detroit to not match the offer. We took their 7th, they took our 5th in order to make it happen.

    Here’s the NFL link: http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap3000000485460/article/lions-trade-george-johnson-to-buccaneers

  20. MadMax Says:

I’ll admit, at first I wanted Petty after drafting Williams, but then looked deeper into him…..then the combine happened and Winston just became obvious. But I am surprised Petty and Hundley are still available.

  21. JabooBuc Says:

    Trey Flowers in 4th

  22. Mike10 Says:

Just odd to me that we trade up for a D3 guy when we need starters on the Oline immediately. It’s one thing to ask a D1 third rounder to plug right in… quite another to have a D3

    …bold men at the realm

  23. Mike10 Says:

    helm (thanks auto spell)

  24. ElioT Says:

Johnson was a FA signing? No…

    Lol @ the Joes!

    Go Sucs!

  25. Luther Says:

Petty is not accurate at all. He will need lots of time. Some scouts had Hundley rated ahead of Mariota believe it or not.

  26. SteveK Says:

    Joe,

Is your list accurate, or did you Phuck up? 🙂 It’s accurate. –Joe

  27. grafikdetail Says:

lol joe is still drunk off the winston juice from last night

  28. ItsDookie87 Says:

It will be fun when Joe realizes it’s not accurate.

  29. Joe Says:

Somehow, Joe was impersonated here tonight in the comments. Sorry to spoil your fun, fellas.

  30. ItsDookie87 Says:

The typical “I was hacked” excuse huh Joe? Lol

  31. salish_seamonster Says:

The draft order on NFL.com backs up Joe’s assertion… but it seems to disagree with the details of the Johnson trade we heard about when it happened.

  32. Joe Says:

Look, Joe didn’t say hacked. Joe said “impersonated.” Big difference. Joe’s pulling his info. on remaining picks from NFL.com. You’re free to see it there.

  33. Dan Says:

    probably 2016 7th round pick

  34. salish_seamonster Says:

CBS Sports draft tracker shows one 5th and two 7th rounders. My guess is that this is correct, as it agrees with everything we had heard previously. NFL.com ought to be official, but it’s possible they made a mistake.

  35. Capt.Tim Says:

Walt football also shows one 5th, 2 -7th.
Hope we can trade Glennon- to get Trey Flowers. That would by a huge surprise!

  36. FortMyersDave Says:

I guess it is safe to say that the Bucs won’t be getting any game changers in day 3 of the draft. That 4th rounder the team gave up for Mankins really sticks out like a sore thumb now; man it would be nice to have the 2nd pick of day 3 back. And yeah I know it is unlikely whoever the Bucs could have grabbed with the pick could contribute more than Mankins but I am simply irked as that is yet another example of how the Bucs have been worked time after time by the Pats….

  37. Owlykat Says:

DE like Chickilo in the fourth, Florida’s big RB in the fifth along with a WR/KR with the second fifth, and Backup C/G like Garcia in the Sixth, and a good ST Safety in the Seventh. We are doing smart going QB, LT, G with our first three picks and are filling our holes so far. Trade off Glennon for a Fourth Round pick and get Hundly too from UCLA, a decent backup QB to really push Winston because Hundly can play a lot better than Glennon and Glennon deserves a team where he can really compete to be a starter like he wants.

  38. FortMyersDave Says:

Surprised Hundley still on the board…

  39. MAYNE ONE Says:

Lovie please draft Rashaad Greene he and Famous had over 150 completions . Please please keep that together.

  40. BoJim Says:

    Luther Says:
Those guys are still on the board going into the 4th round. I actually wouldn’t mind picking up Petty and trading Glennon.

JJ Whorton, sick white boy for slot WR

  42. CJW Says:

    http://espn.go.com/nfl/draft/teams?team=tb&year=2015

    We have two 7s joe.

    NFL.com is surprisingly wrong.

  43. rush Says:

Fullback from Alabama — Fowler… we be awesome if still there in the 4th at 29

  44. TouchDownTampaBay Says:

My god some of you people seem thick! I can only assume you guys didn’t realize that trade involved some picks in 2016. What was initially reported about that trade was correct Salish. At the time that trade was reported on this site I noticed some of you failed to pick up on that detail. Maybe in 2016 when we have an extra pick it will dawn on you what happened.

  45. Brandon Says:

I’m pretty sure we have one remaining pick in each round.

    I’d like to see

    4
WR Jamison Crowder Duke-Excellent slot WR and return man. Other WRs to like are Rashad Greene, Justin Hardy, and Tre McBride

    5
DE Max Valles UVa-great frame and excellent athleticism. Was a surprise entrant into draft but still finished 2nd in ACC in sacks with 9. Other DEs to look at Ryan Russell, Zach Hodges, Shaq Riddick, and Zadarius Smith

    6
LB Bryce Hager Baylor- very athletic at combine and very productive statistically. His one tape at draftbreakdown.com was impressive. He showed range, toughness, and was a sure tackler. Junior Sylvestre, Jeff Luc, Edmond Robinson, Kwon Alexander, Ramik Wilson, and Ben Heeney could all be good fits as well.

    7
WR/TE Darren Waller Georgia Tech-Huge and extremely fast college WR would project best to motion TE in the NFL. Not very productive but at 6’6 240 and running sub 4.5 40 at the Combine, he has plenty to be excited about.

  46. teebeefan Says:

I have my eye on two potential 4th round picks: (1) Adrian Amos, FS, Penn St.; and (2) Stefon Diggs, WR, Maryland. Amos should be a ST stud and would likely be the starting FS in 2016 when our current one-year bridge safeties depart after the 2015 season. Diggs would become our 3rd WR and potential replacement for Jackson as the number 2 WR in 2016. Plus, he has experience returning kicks.

  47. Dan Says:

JOE we only had one 5th round pick for this draft ever. we traded it to detroit. you were wrong.
