Demar Dotson Will Stay At Right Tackle

Look for a Bucs rookie at left tackle

That experiment with Demar Doston switching to left tackle at nearly 30 years old appears to be over.

Bucs general manager Jason Licht proclaimed tonight that Bucs rookie Donovan Smith, the No. 34 overall pick, is a left tackle.

Smith has got to be better than Anthony Collins and Oneil Cousins, the Bucs’ left tackles last year who are currently out of football. So that’s a good thing.

And Joe’s really not scared of a rookie left tackle — not after last year. Keep in mind the division champion Panthers started two rookie O-linemen and a Bucs practice squad castoff in 2014.

This is great news for Dotson, who is an almost average right tackle and a guy who likely will still improve.

Yes, folks, the Bucs are going to start two rookies on their O-line, barring a serious rise in play from Patrick Omameh.

think they want the third rounder to eventually be center

  2. Tampabaybucfan Says:

I guess Pamphile & Edwards haven’t quite developed as hoped if these are our two new starters….

O-line seems to be shaping up. Left tackle promising. Always great hope for Mankins. eDs should remember how to play this year. The D3 guard picture looks like an all pro, and Dotson holds down his spot. Winston will have some time.

  4. Dan Says:

now find a safety or mlb you like and trade back into the third for him. and be done for the weekend.

How many o-line busts do l and l get.pampile Edwards gilkey collins cousins omaneh? These 2 better work or I think licht should be fired.

Jamison Crowder next selection. Lovie will draft his return specialist this draft.

Smith & Marpet are great additions to our offensive front…fresh legs…

So they get rid if penn and zutAh and they to to other teams and are productive. Then they bring in free agents who bomb.

Wow destinjohnny, you are about a year behind! Going to fast, are we?

Yep, not worried at all. Face it the division is trash. This is the best year possible to have a rookie QB and 2 rookies on the OL and still be a successful team.

You and I are on the exact same page.

There are few DEs available (Max Valles of UVa, WVUs Shaq Reddick, and Princeton’s Zach Hodges)

LBs that might be in the Bucs ballpark are Baylor’s Bryce Hager, Toldeo’s Junior Sylvestre, Newberry’s Edmond Robinson, LSU’s Kwon Alexander, Georgia’s Ramik Wilson, and Kansas’ Ben Heeney.

Get Rashad Greene while we can, obviously him and Jameis have a chemistry together. I think he is an upgrade from Murphy at the slot receiver, then add a couple Defensive Ends to the depth. May be a safety as well
