“This Is What America’s Made Of”

April 24th, 2015

american flagMen tonight will get free shots from bartenders.

Subway sandwich makers will give hotties extra roast beef and free chips just because.

“This is what America’s made of,” claims former Bucs defensive tackle Booger McFarland.

Booger, and his two Super Bowl rings, took a break from his duties on the SEC Network and SiriuxXM NFL Radio to defend Jameis Winston on WDAE-AM 620 yesterday. Booger called the dean of Tampa Bay sports radio, Steve Duemig, to verbally beat down those hating Winston for walking out of Publix with crab legs given to him by an employee.

Booger insists everyone has gotten “hooked up” with free stuff at some point in their lives, therefore everyone needs to relax and keep things in perspective.

Booger had many other takes you can hear via the 620wdae.com audio player below.

Has Joe gotten free stuff like Winston did, from an employee thieving from an employer? It’s been a while, but absolutely.

Everyone probably has gotten hooked up. But they usually keep their mouths shut about it. Now Jameis has (probably unintentionally) gotten the NCAA involved because he did receive a benefit. Probably should have just stuck with stealing it. Not great self awareness.

No sir officer, iI was speeding and deserved that ticket, I will gladly pay it.

  3. Buccfan37 Says:

Everything will be for free when the sh*t hits the fan in America. As long as you have the body armor to escape from being shot. Oh that’s right, they outlawed that too.

  4. louden Says:

    First off:
Winston is still bad decison maker as QB on the field, as is clearly visible on the college tape.. But Joe won´t allow any links that might Winston of course..

    Second:
Yes, thiefing is realy the American way (if you look at the bigger picture; has started with the killings of native Americans and now it´s brought all over theo world)
+ Great Patriots work at Guantanamo Bay (in the thinking of George Bush Jr.)

  5. port richey george Says:

the crab leg video shown of Winston at publix on outside the lines espn tv clearly showed Winston walk by himself from the back of the store all by himself all the way to the front of the store and out the doors. he was alone on the video. I did not see any employees in the video. he stole the items he did not go near the cash registers. thief plain and simple. he was not handed the items in the parking lot or in back of the store. he is a thief.

  6. Bill Says:

    @Port Richey,

In that same video, did you see him order them? Nope. That bag of seafood was prepared and ready to go, logically, by someone behind the counter.

  7. port richey george Says:

the bucs should pass on this guy with the top pick.
many experts think he will still be there at the top of the second round. most teams aren’t interested in him. as mel kiper jr. has said he has not heard of any team talking about trading up to get Winston. they only want to trade up to get mariota. kiper also said on espn tv mariota could go number one overall because of the interest in him.

  8. WS99 Says:

In Jamaica during our honeymoon I got hooked up with a shot of 300 year old rum. Wow it was excellent. The shot cost $30 but I didn’t pay for it. They also upgraded our room to a beachfront suite. I only paid for a regular room and got the room available. The employees did this on their own just bc we told them that we were on our honeymoon.

I really need to send the hotel the money I stole from them, it is stealing after all.

  9. WantstaStayaBuc Says:

“This is What America is Made of.” (With a picture of our Nation’s flag)

Does this feel good for anyone on either side of the debate?

  10. buc1989 Says:

You can order items from the deli, seafood market, or bakery at publix all online and they. Have it prepared for you.

  11. Lord Cornelius Says:

It’s honestly true. Pretty much everyone would have to be a giant hypocrit to say they never took an assistance or hand outs from another human being. Hook ups on jobs / food / etc is very typical.

A lot of times you hear the phrase “it’s about who you know” when it comes to career advancement. Then these same jack@sses like to act like everything they had they earned the hard way with no help from anyone.

A lot of the most respected members of our society are not perfect people / are far from it or made a lot of mistakes at various points. It’s part of being a human being for a lot of humans.

  12. WS99 Says:

    Lord C

That second paragraph hits home. 100% accurate.

  13. ndog Says:

Port richey you sir are clueless if we screw up and pass on Jameis the Titans would take him in 3 seconds.

  14. WalkdaPlank Says:

Out of everything Jameis has done, the most concerning thing to me is him yelling FHRITP. I get that it was a popular video with that old guy Fred, and it was funny. But that’s just not something you do after being accused of RAPE! Whether he committed the crime or not is irrelevant, it was a huge act of ignorance and immaturity towards his situation. He didn’t care.

But that’s not alarming enough not to draft him. Cam Newton turned out fine off the field, why can’t Jameis? The other stuff is petty and college kid stuff.

  15. WantstaStayaBuc Says:

Not that I think that it will matter to anyone, but the seafood counter worker’s sworn statement was that Winston ordered the crab legs steamed. He left and came back 7-8 minutes later and took the items that the worker had prepared and priced.

That’s why the order was ready when he walked up. Still could have been a hook-up where the two of them stole from Publix. But hey, everybody does it. Ask them, they’ll give you an example and dare you to call them a thief just for taking something from the owner without paying for it.

Can’t we just go back to “I forgot to pay for one of my items”, or I was to young to know it was wrong (“youthful ignorance”), or “I was used to Winn Dixie and forgot to pay”? At least those lies didn’t cause people to fall over themselves to say that hey everyone steals so we can’t be disappointed in anyone.

  16. WalkdaPlank Says:

    WantstaStayaBuc

I’d much rather want that Kate Upton pic. 🙂

  17. WantstaStayaBuc Says:

    Thanks Walkda,
That truly made me laugh. 🙂

  18. BuccaneEric Says:

Nobody was talking about trading up for Luck, only RG3. Why? Cause teams know Winston is going #1.

  19. JoeJoes Fungi Nails Says:

    Well said Andres !!!
what a pack of amoral enablers…….
Jameis will embarrass the fanchise sooner rather than later….

  20. CC Says:

Thank you Boog. Every one in the TV, radio and print sports media who bashes Winston for getting crab legs from a Publix hookup are hypocrites. None of them pay for sporting events and many other events because they are either comped and have hookups.

  21. WS99 Says:

American isn’t about stealing – oh the irony says the American Indian.

  22. A Gator that loves the Bucs Says:

This has to be the Dumbest thing that Booger has ever said.
“Hook Ups” can only be given by the person that PAID for the merchandise. if an Employee “gives” you something that you Know he didn’t pay for then you are Dealing in Stolen Property which in the state of Fla is worse than stealing. I dont for the LIFE of me see how people minimize this so much.

  23. A Gator that loves the Bucs Says:

At that time, Winston said in a statement: “I went to the supermarket with the intent to purchase dinner but made a terrible mistake for which I’m taking full responsibility. In a moment of youthful ignorance, I walked out of the store without paying for one of my items.”
    ………….
Correct me if Im wrong but in the video he only had one item when he walked out. So why did he actually go there?

  24. Dave Pear Says:

    andres,
Why do you even watch football?
It’s full of moral muck and miscreants.
Where everyone is lauded for their crimes.
    Shouldn’t you be at church?

  25. A Gator that loves the Bucs Says:

LOL WS! You know bro you are one of the coolest Winston supporters on here and I mean that. I cant put you in the “Winstonite” category whatsoever. Kudos to you man for being so rational.

  26. A Gator that loves the Bucs Says:

“Well, a week before, it was my buddy’s birthday and we had got a cake. And we met a dude that worked inside Publix and he said, ‘Hey, anytime you come in here, I got you.’ So that day we just walked out and he hooked us up with that,” Winston said.
    …………………..
Ahhh so now there is a cake involved too. Joe his going to have to add that Jameis Intro. lol

  27. BuccaneEric Says:

I wonder if NFL teams have talked to this “buddy”? Again, I’ll go back to interesting!

  28. SAMCRO Says:

    Hey Joe,

If Winston want’s to get hooked up tell to come see me.

I’ll hook him up on all kinds of Titan paraphernalia! 🙂

…just kidding Winstonites …don’t string me up!!!

  29. Clodhopper Says:

I bet Mariota got some hookups too. Only question is, what did he get? Lobster Tail? Swordfish? Hush Puppies from Long John Silvers?

  30. Stanglassman Says:

People still believe he stood up on a table and streamed out that meme when the fact of the matter is he was walking down the stairs at the HCB Building Building singing it with friends. Yes, that student union wear the hippies play hacky sack and drums and protest against ‘the man’. Where freedom of speech is highly coveted and practiced often. He may have still used bad judgement but it wasn’t as bad as repeating false accounts because you are too lazy or it fits your preconceived narrative. That tells me more about you than it does Jameis. The people who saw in first hand & tweeted about it weren’t appalled they just thought it was funny. Pat Forde had to made a huge effort into making this such a negative story for you to falsely repeat.

I’ll wait for “Both sides do it” St.PeteJetsfan to correct me.

  31. WalkdaPlank Says:

Winston was suspended for that “funny” thing. Seems pretty negative on its own.

  32. Kevin Says:

    This is just stupid…

  33. port richey george Says:

Let’s try to stick to the topic. Yes, Rainey made his deal official today. Totally expected. Really not news.–Joe

  34. Stanglassman Says:

Yes he got suspended after the story on Yahoo blew it up and yes that is negative. SMH?

  35. WantstaStayaBuc Says:

Wasn’t he suspended for one half for what he yelled but then an additional half because he lied to school administrators when asked about it?

  36. Eric Says:

Who would have thought that all the perfect people in the world would congregate on Joebucsfan.com.

  37. WS99 Says:

    Gator

Ty sir. You not too bad yourself.

  38. BuccaneEric Says:

I want to hear from Winston supporters and Winston Non-supporters. I would have said and Mariota supporters but there is the trade down crowd so as they do not support Winston, they also don’t support Mariota. I’m a big Winston fan but I want to get a feel for his INTs. I know what Jimbo says, but there was a site where they had all 18 of his picks and critiqued them. When I saw all of them I didn’t see recievers running wrong routes, I saw missed coverages and forcing the ball. Do you guys think being away from baseball will help him refine his throwing motion or do you think it won’t matter????

  39. Buc1987 Says:

Port Richey George…no go sit in the corner…dunce cap and all! 🙂

  40. Stanglassman Says:

Now are you saying you know for a fact that he would have been suspended at all if the stories in media didn’t exaggerate what actually happened? How do you know what the administration ask him? Maybe they ask him if he stood on a table and shouted IFHRITP and he simply said no that not what happened. I honestly don’t know but I do know a lot of people would just answer the question and not have gone into detail about why what they ask wasn’t a true portrayal of the event. Once again, I think what he did was stupid and immature. I just don’t think it makes him the monster people create him out to be. I wouldn’t want him on the Bucs if I thought he was a bad person with serious character issues. I sure as hell wouldn’t want him here if I thought he abused women in any way.
Violent behavior, drug/alcohol, mental disorders are the type of problems that are repeated. Not BB gun fights with friends and the other petty acts we know he committed.

  41. Buc1987 Says:

BuccaneEric…I think he’s a gun slinger like Brett Favre…INT’s pshhh

  42. Brett Farve Says:

    Did somebody say interceptions?

  43. Buc1987 Says:

5 of the picks were off WR’s hands and that’s a fact. Anyone that watched all 18 picks would know that.

  44. BuccaneEric Says:

PortGeorge, I’d like to know what “experts” your talking about. It’s crazy to think he will be there in round 2. At first I would be shocked, then I would be yelling at the TV for the Bucs to draft him!

  45. Buc1987 Says:

The fire of Tom Brady. The Gun slinger mentality of Brett Favre. The football mind of Payton Manning.

“Yes, I’ve heard. Kills men by the hundreds. And if HE were here, he’d consume the English with fireballs from his eyes, and bolts of lightning from his arse.”

  46. Buc1987 Says:

SAMCRO…THAT was a good one man.

  47. Brett Farve Says:

Nike dropped a new Mariota ad. It’s called inner strength. I’d tell you what it was about but I feel asleep a few seconds into it. My bad!

    Bucneric
Phillip rivers threw 18 Ints last year and still won 9 games. Quick name the skill players on the charges and best defensive player, go!

    #perspective

  48. BuccaneEric Says:

87, I did see some off of the WRs hands, but a few of those were bad throws a little behind them in coverage. He does force the ball but I think its because he didn’t trust the new guys. Only Greene and O’Leary. Most of the picks were to them. I just didn’t see the wrong route thing that I hear. Of course, I’m not Jimbo!! Lol

  49. Eric Says:

If we do pick Jameis it will be interesting to see how many so called Bucs fans will support him and judge him by how he conducts himself as the Bucs QB. You know wipe the slate clean.

Or will the cascade of hate continue.

I fully expect the National media will continue the witch hunt.

We need a United front here in Tampa to support this kid.

    We shall see.

  50. BuccaneEric Says:

Brett, sorry, I can’t do it.. I’m guessing Allen and royal???

  51. Stanglassman Says:

    @Buccaneeric

I think it is difficult to tell if a WR ran a wrong route. I wrong route could be a hot read to break the original off. I also think he didn’t seem to have a Int problem when he was a freshman and had more than one WR and one TD he trusted. I also noticed lots of those Int were at the end of the half or 3 and long where he knew it wouldn’t hurt them as bad. I agree that he forced some balls on some underneath routes. He seems to understand that’s an issue in his game he needs to work on He said he tried to do too much and he was going to correct it. I believe he is smart enough to do just that.

  52. WalkdaPlank Says:

    87

It happens to every QB. An INT off a WR’s hands, or he fell down, or got clothes-lined. Some the recievers dropped, and some the DB’s dropped. Same goes for Mariota, and pretty much every QB to play the game. Winston made some poor decisions and throws, like in the Louisville game, and Miami game, and Florida game. He also made some tremendous throws that only an NFL-ready QB can make.

  53. A Gator that loves the Bucs Says:

@BuccaneEric. It is well known that I am a UF alum but we aren’t all created equal. My wife is a FSU alum and so is my brother. In all honesty, while I am ok with JW coming here if the Buc’s staff make the decision they get paid to make, I am worried about those Ints you asked about but I also think there Could be a good side to them. I think he has Superior Arm talent and once he gets to the NFL and realizes that EVERY DB he is throwing against is better than the ones he threw against in college that he will Progress a great deal. How long it takes him to realize that is anyone’s guess.

  54. Brett Farve Says:

    Bucneric

    Yea me neither.

  55. BuccaneEric Says:

Glassman and 87, I hope you guys are right. Bucs fans deserve a good QB more than any other.! I think my mind is being infected from The TKras rant yesterday! I can so see Lovie saying no to Winston.

  56. Eric Says:

He focused on Greene too much and threw into coverage. Chucky called him out on it.

But the flip side of that is Greene had 1300+ yards and 7 td’s on the year,

So, it worked quite a bit too!

Ok with me if he throws a lot to Mike Evans. I like our chances on a jump ball with him and v-jax. And hopefully our tight end.

Tom Brady threw three horrible picks in the playoffs and the super bowl. Kept on slinging.

Sometimes the DB will win the battle. But keep slinging it.

  57. BuccaneEric Says:

Favre, you got me! I thought you knew!! Lol ,you should look that up cause I might be right! I would but I’m at the bar drinking with my wife and I don’t feel like looking! Lol ! She’s here for work and I’m here for beer!’

  58. Stanglassman Says:

I with ya there Eric. I think Lovie is on the fence but Licht and the Glazer boys are in love with JW and that’s what counts. I believe Jason L.’s job is more secure too.

  59. Buc1987 Says:

Eric…sorry but were you here for the Summer of Freeman in 2103?

  60. Dougy balls Says:

Haven’t posted in a long time but when I see anything patriotic on this site all have to do is scroll down and see some idiot named louden post something that takes a shot at our country that thousands of people fight for and die Said it before and will say it again. You sir do not deserve to breath the same air of freedom that I do. ALL GAVE SOME. AND SOME GAVE ALL

  61. BuccaneEric Says:

I wrote this in another post but I don’t think anyone still on that one so I’ll do it here too! I love that when people bring up Mettenburgers sexual assault, the winston haters point out that he was a sixth round pick!’ So you would be ok with Winston as long as we get him in the sixth round!!???!’ You don’t want an alleged rapist on your team with the 1st pick but Mettenburger went in the sixth so he’s cool!!!??? The Titans had a QB with sexual assault allegations starting for them. Doesn’t matter what round its in. The correct response you should have about Mettenburger when winstonites bring him up is that you wouldn’t want Mettenburger on the Bucs either. Not that he wasn’t a #1 pick as if that makes it ok. Just my 2 cents and I’m a Winston fan who would be OK with Mariota.

“Glassman and 87, I hope you guys are right.”

Meeee too. I’ve waited 28 years for a franchise QB.

  66. BuccaneEric Says:

I just read that Dan Marino had 23 picks as a Senior in only 370 attempts! But he didn’t win a superbowl so I guess I can’t use that to defend Winston!!!!

  67. Bill Says:

Lemme throw some interesting INT figures at you.

Winstons TD-INT ratio inside the opponents 40 was 19-2. Lets call that extended red zone.

    His INT% on:
    1st down, 3.8%
    2nd down, 2.8%
    3rd down, 5.5%
    3rd down and 7+, “8.2%”

He forced some throws, particularly on 3rd downs. What is often lost in looking at aggregate data like ’18 INT over the course of the year’ is the context in which they occurred. 6 INT’s on 3rd down, fail on the play and you lose the ball anyway.

INT’s in the first half? 13, only 5 in the second half. I’m scared by memories of the slow starting Josh Freemen years, however this trait did not exist in his freshman year.

My take on this after looking at some of these conditional statistics is that he was trying very hard to get the offense going, probably too hard. We see a trend for 1st half INT’s, we see a trend to force throws on 3rd and long, and we see a dramatic improvement once in opponent territory (presumably the offense is working at this point in time).

At the end of the day, he looks like a young QB trying too hard, too soon. That can be fixed.

  68. BuccaneEric Says:

Steve young had 18 picks as a sophomore! But only 10 as a junior in his defense. I guess will never know what Jameis would have had

  69. A Gator that loves the Bucs Says:

Hey 87. Jaws cited that there should have been at Least 13 more INTs and Mayock said it easily could have been 18 more. I have said many times that a great deal of those ints were merely overconfidence due to superior arm talent. This can be fixed but don’t try to make up for it bro.

  70. Stanglassman Says:

QB Jameis to the Bucs = K Janikowski to FSU

  71. BuccaneEric Says:

Thanks Bill, that help ease the soul. Unless, of course the pick is Mariota. Then I’ll have to look into his game more than I have.

  72. Eric Says:

87 I must be slow tonight, not getting your Freeman reference.

I wouldn’t worry about Lovie, he and Jameis come from the same side of the tracks. Did you see him hugging his mother?

Lovie knows the score here. I think he is dying to take Winston.

Only the Glazers had to be convinced IMO.

  73. BuccaneEric Says:

Eric, I hope your right. I’ve got TKras on the brain!

  74. Buc1987 Says:

Gator Buc…and I’ve stated in the past that the only thing that bothers me about Winston is his over confidence.

And Jaws and Mayock have nothing better to do…

I watched EVERY single game I don’t know what the monkey’s are talking about and neither does Joe. Anyone that watched all of Winston’s games have to be puzzled by wtf they are talking about.

  75. Eric Says:

“87 I must be slow tonight, not getting your Freeman reference.”

If you were on this site during the summer of 2013. There was major battles over Freeman. Many thought he was a scrub. I defended him. Why? Because he was our starting QB. It went on for months.

Many fans HATED him and would not let up. I don’t expect things to change once Winston is a Buccaneer in 5 days.

    Holy crap 5 days away!

  77. WS99 Says:

Why do you guys even watch Bspn? There’s nothing on bspn unless berman is on with his sidekick. it’s all about nfln.

  78. BuccaneEric Says:

  79. Buc1987 Says:

    WS99..true that.

  80. Bill Says:

    @BuccaneEric,

There’s no good reason to disapprove of MM as the pick. He’s a very unique QB, with a pretty rare combination of speed and arm talent. I’d love to have him, but I like Winston more.

  81. Buc1987 Says:

What I want to know is who will be the first fan to poke a stick at me tonight?

  82. Buc1987 Says:

Bill…that’s fine and that’s your opinion. I loved watching him in college, but I see him as the bust of the 2 QB’s.

Just because I want Winston has NOTHING to do with that opinion either.

    I guess we’ll see…

  83. Buc1987 Says:

Has anyone….heard from St Pete fan?

  84. Bill Says:

    @87,

I want Winston too, but I don’t see MM being a “bust”. You used an interesting term there: “bust of the 2 QB’s”…… lol….does there have to be one?

  85. WS99 Says:

I saw him on here earlier. He’s prob getting laid.

  86. BuccaneEric Says:

Bill, I don’t have anything against Mariota either. I just prefer traditional QBs I guess. I think if Russell Wilson didn’t have an all time great defense we wouldn’t but him as high as we do. I hope that if we do take Mariota,!he is as carefull running as Wilson and doesn’t go all RG3 on us.Im sure 87 would agree with my next statement… If I had a time machine and knew that Mariota would win superbowls and winston would not, I would be all Mariota, all the time! It’s all about the Bucs baby!!!

  87. Buc1987 Says:

Bill…well yes there does. Since it’s been debated ad nauseam on this site of which QB is the better pick.

Mariota and Winstonwill be forever linked.

I said he will be the bust out of the 2 QB’s 3 months ago.

I’ve been wrong before, and it’s only my opinion.

  88. BuccaneEric Says:

WS99, Id say I was going to get laid too but I just left my wife im the bar to go out to the car to plug my phone in the car charger so I could talk to you guys about winston!! Im stupid!! Lll

  89. Buc1987 Says:

BuccaneEric…Yes it’s all about the our beloved Bucs.

  90. Bill Says:

Elway v Kelly v Marino? (Did you know there were 3 other QB’s taken in the first that year too? Amazing)

I wouldn’t call any of them busts, despite the fact that you could if you were forced to.

  91. Buc1987 Says:

Bill …that was long before the spread option…

I tend to agree with you on the mobile QB concept. It comes and goes, and always has. Kap was suppose to reinvent the game, but after a full season of tape and study, he fizzled a bit. They always do. QB’s throw, RB’s run, and a mix of both skills is great, but it seems every 10 years or so the fundamental job of a QB gets lost in the smoke of some players sizzle.

  96. BuccaneEric Says:

Wow Gator, I screwed that up!! Lol

  97. Buc1987 Says:

lol Walk I missed BuccaneEric’s post.

Hilarious. Yup you fit right in…

  98. BuccaneEric Says:

Bill, Steve Young had the best mix of both I’ve ever seen! And he COULD THROW the ball with anybody! Wish we didn’t give him a piss poor O Line or our lone Super Bowl win might not have been our first. I’m going back in for more beer now!!!

  99. Buc1987 Says:

    BuccaneEric …HA!

  100. BuccaneEric Says:

Yup 87, I’m a sad soul!! Better go back in before I lose all hope!!! See ya!!!!

  101. Bill Says:

    BucEric,

I can’t claim to be old enough to remember Youngs days in Tampa well, but there a few points to be made there.

    1. Players are a part of a large organization, and their productivity depends on many things.

    2. Players improve with time. It’s a questionable thing to assume that Steve Young was the same player for both teams. It’s almost certain he was not.

    3. He did have a great mix of leg and arm talent, but without the arm talent his ability to run wouldn’t have gotten him far. It would be a mistake to value the legs above the arm, which is the thinking I see people falling for every so often.

    Enjoy the brew! lol

  102. WS99 Says:

    Bucneric

You my friend just won yourself some major cool points. Rotf. #itsabucslife

  103. BuccaneEric Says:

Bill, I got more beer!!! Im back!!! The right way of developing QBs is letting them sit. Rogers and Young did more in their first four years as a starter than Luck and I’m pretty sure most people would say Luck was the better prospect out of college.

  104. Buc1987 Says:

BuccaneEric…the Bucs don’t have the luxury of Montana and Favre..

    They’ve got Mike Glennon.

  105. Senor Mofo Says:

Well, the Joe’s have finally devolved to that level where they have to invoke the American flag to justify picking Winston.

I mean, Winston is the only choice for true freedom-loving Americans, right? Everyone who doesn’t prefer Winston is apparently a communist or socialist who hates America.

  106. BuccaneEric Says:

Unfortunately we don’t have the luxury of a Montana or Favre. We better hope Jameis or Marcus just “gets it”.

  107. BuccaneEric Says:

87, you bastard! After I wrote my post when the page refreshed I saw yours! Quit stealing my material!!’ Lol

  108. WS99 Says:

    Joe,

No OTA articles yet? Whats up with that? The boys are on the field and in the weight room. The smell of fresh cut grass is in the air. Ooooooooh yea it’s almost time baby!!! Saturday August 15 at 8pm. Mark it on your calendar baby.

  109. BuccaneEric Says:

WS99, the Joes are consumed with the draft. 8 more days and the draft will be done. Then we’ll get even more Bucs story’s about winston , or we’ll have to find a new site after the Joes jump off of the Skyway!!! I hope for the former

  110. BuccaneEric Says:

Doe anyone know what week we played the Redskins last season?

    @BuccaneEric,

There’s no good reason to disapprove of MM as the pick. He’s a very unique QB, with a pretty rare combination of speed and arm talent. I’d love to have him, but I like Winston more.
    ………….
Well said Sir! I feel much the same way. I lean Winston and then I lean Mariota. As long as we take one of them Im ok. This being said I am a Founder of the Trade Down Crowd that has been converted.

  112. gotbbucs Says:

I got free drinks at a bar that I used to basically pay the electric bill for in college, call the cops.

I paid a dollar for a massive prime rib dinner that an alumni donor bought for me when I was playing in college. Somebody quick call the NCAA.

Every person here has done some stupid sh!t at some point in their life. Taking advantage of an opportunity to get something for free doesn’t constitute this kind of attention. If you want to harp on the “rape” thing go right ahead, but at least read the reports before you start blowing hot air.

Doing dumb sh!t like shooting squirrels with bbguns, saying curse words, and accepting hookups when you’re 18/19 years old hardly requires a life sentence. Keep it in perspective people.

  113. A Gator that loves the Bucs Says:

Hey Gotbucs I don’t know if you own a business or not but I do. If I had an employee that “Hooked up” athletes at 32 bucks a pop I would send him to JAIL!!!!………….So we are Clear on the fact that the Employee Stole right????
He Gave it to JW so it is all good right?????
$hit, this is what America was built on.

  114. Buc1987 Says:

“Booger insists everyone has gotten “hooked up” with free stuff at some point in their lives, therefore everyone needs to relax and keep things in perspective.”

A Gator that loves the Bucs …why are you acting as if you never got hooked up before? You never got something for free from an employee of a company?
    Really? Never?

If you say never…I won’t believe you anyways…

  115. WantstaStayaBuc Says:

See, Gator? We all steal so its okay. We all probably lie about it, so if you lied to me, I wouldn’t need to believe you. I might even find your lies noble.

Shoot, this universal act of theft is what any red-blooded American would/no should do! Hey, I say lying and stealing are the kind of virtuous acts that make you MORE qualified to be the face of a multimillion dollar company than some sort of sissy beta male who just speeds in his car.

  116. WS99 Says:

  122. AfroBuc Says:

It’s amazing the short memories some you Winston critics have. Didn’t Peyton Manning have a little issue in college regarding a young lady? Ryan Mallet? Zach Mettenberger?

How about pro QBs who faced some of the same type accusations: Brett Favre, Ben Roethlisberger, Mark Sanchez, …….Remember the Eddy Murphy sketch about the double standards white vs. black men face? http://www.nbc.com/saturday-night-live/video/white-like-me/n9308

  123. Stanglassman Says:

I own a business too and I give my employees the ability to use their digression to give perks to people who they believe will benefit the business. How much do you think Publix benefits per FSU game a couple of million dollars maybe more? FSU football has not only practically built the school it’s also allowed the school to raise it’s academic standards because of it’s popularity.

  124. tval Says:

Good point, stan. So what # is jameis wearing, guys? He liked cunningham and was eagles and donovan fan. Maybe he goes #12 as nfl upgrade or back to 5? #17 wld be awesome. I know hes not worried about any freeman comparison. He’ll shut those folks up week 1 🙂

I understand the QB mentality of the NFL today which is why Im ok with JW regardless of some of his Idiotic apolgists.

Vety excited that we will be drafting Jameis in 5 days.
He is a phenom. At a very very young age- he blew up college football.
He’s made some youthful mistakes. That have been greatly overblown.
He hasn’t been arrested. He doesn’t do drugs. No DUIs. No fights.

He is the highest ranked QB since Andrew Luck. Jameis has incredible field vision and accuracy. His football intelligence is on the same level as Peyton Manning.

He will improve the Bucs immediately. In the next couple years- we will be consistently competing for the SuperBowl.
Janis is a one in a decade Talent

Unless Mariota hooks up with Chip Kelly, he will flop. He lacks any experience at the most fundamental skills. Playing calling, reading defenses, snaps under center, 3/5/7 step drops. Audibles.
It’s just to many lacking fundamentals to catch up on this level.
He’s a nice kid. So was Trent Dilfer, Ryan leaf, etc.

If you are really a Bucs fan, you should be Euphoric right now

  133. port richie who? Says:

Port richie are you really worried about the bucs being embarrassed? Or do you just hate winston that much? 30 and 70 in our last 100 games is pretty damn embarassing. Not sure bucs can do much to harm their image in the nfl considering we are the laughing stock of the league! Not one person outside of buc fans and many of thrm even dont respect the bucs organization. I hardly doubt bringing in winston will do mu
ch harm. If anything it wilo bring a pulse to the town which is very much needed!

  136. WantstaStayaBuc Says:

    Gatr,
My entire last post was sarcasm. I think your views as a biz owner are spot on. Neither Publix or the employee have stated that there are sanctioned giveaways to Noles. In fact, they said the opposite. And save it apologists, I know you think everybody is lying, except Winston.

As for Mariota speeding, its how he handled it afterwards which makes him better than Winston. He truly took responsibility. Derrick Brooks took improper benefits from agents (2 sweatshirts). He took responsibility; didn’t blame it on youth or anyone else. He is a good guy who did something that he shouldn’t. His character was revealed in how he responded.

    —————————

Congrats on the beer, that can be a challenge sometimes.

Let’s talk about Rodgers and Young.

Rodger’s aggregate stats over his first 4 years:
    4,367 yards
    63.2%
    29 TD’s
    14 INT’s

Young’s aggregate stats over his first 4 years:
    4,467 yards
    53.4%
    24 TD’s
    24 INT’s

I have no bias at play here, I like Young and Rodgers, but comparing them is a joke. Rodgers produced almost all those stats in a single year. Young had a more diverse set of opportunities, playing 14 games one year, but also managed 5 in his worst year (of the 4).

Rodgers started all 16 games in his 4th year, but did not start a single game in his first 3 years. Despite some similar stats, these two players had very little in common from a career perspective.

  145. BB Christina Says:

@portrichiegeorge you can’t be serious right the only reason they’re not saying anything about teams wanting to move up for Winston is because they know that he’s not going to be available lol seriously yall are a trip do you really think he’s going to be available in the second round?
