People “Thinking I’m A Sociopath”

April 15th, 2015

jameis 0221BSPN.com has pumped out a long, fluffy, magazine-like Jameis Winston feature by Kurt Streeter.

Joe’s not sure it’s terribly enlightening, but it’s interesting nonetheless, considering it gives a glimpse into the likely next Bucs quarterback.

Of course, there are all kinds of quotes from Winston, as BSPN followed him around for many weeks.

Winston shared a major, I-can’t-win frustration of his.

“So many people try to dehumanize me,” he says. “They say, ‘Off-field issues.’ They say, ‘The sexual allegation stuff.’ People view me as a convict, and I didn’t even do nothing. People say, ‘How does he play like this and all this stuff going on?’ Like by me playing well during that adversity, that made people think about me worse, thinking I’m a sociopath.”

Hopefully, Winston knows he can’t stop public scrutiny. Not now. Not this year. So he shouldn’t let it eat him up.

If Winston goes two years without his name in the news for the wrong reasons, then nobody will seem to care about anything in his past.

    Keep strong Bro!!!

  2. Buc1987 Says:

I’m bringing the biggest fattest cigar with me to Ray Jay on draft day.

  3. Skyline Crew Says:

I read that yesterday. Made him seem more human than he would like. I think he tries to hide who he is and tries to pump out this persona of what he wants to be. I was like him in HS where I wanted to be the center of attention and did stupid stuff, but that was HS as well. Hopefully, he can mature and “GROW” as he puts it.

  4. BROCKTACULAR Says:

Joes, you really need an Android app!

  5. Tiny Tim Says:

I read this article on ESPN last night. I suggest the winston bashers to read this. I just don’t know why you would not want him as your QB.

  6. Buccfan37 Says:

Winston is the likely, possible, potentially, suggested, inevitable, maybe choice of the Bucs as the top overall pick. Every day seems to slow down awaiting the decision. Since the Bucs have never had what could be called a franchise QB, the waiting is the hardest past. As far as the off field questions, who really cares?

  7. WalkdaPlank Says:

Words will not do anything at this point. Jameis has said all the right things under the microscope leading up to draft day, and that’s not hard to do especially with a professional agent holding your hand. All he can do now is prove with his actions that he is mature enough to handle being the face of an NFL franchise and being a multi-millionaire.

Take Cam Newton for example. Coming out of Auburn as an immature kid with theft and money taking allegations across the board, and getting kicked out of UF to boot. So far he has stayed out of trouble and is a good leader as the face of the Panthers.

Jameis will have to do the same with the Bucs. As far as gloating and doing stupid dances and celebrations like an idiot every first down, Jameis can do that all he wants against the opposing team on the field, especially against Cam and his punk ass Panthers. 🙂

  8. Buc1987 Says:

“We’re all gonna have so much effin fun we’re gonna need plastic surgery to remove our GD smiles! You’ll be whistling ‘Zip-A-Dee Doo-Dah’ out of your a-holes!” – Clark W Griswold

  9. The Buc Realist Says:

    Joe says
“If Winston goes two years without his name in the news for the wrong reasons, then nobody will seem to care about anything in his past.”

Not true, just ask Coach Schaino. Once media does not like you for whatever reason. They will try and blame you for anything that is true or false. They will not ask questions or facts.

  10. Dewey Selmon Says:

I’m glad Jameis went through this n college, I think he has learned. I would rather him be a bonehead in college than be like some players that wait until they get some fame then get in trouble.

  11. MarshallU Says:

Winston put himself in that position so he can’t blame everybody else. While the vast majority of people view him as the cat that ate the canary, he is the only person that is responsible for his own actions, past and future. He has to be a model citizen from here on out and patiently wait for all of this to pass.

  12. robert 9 Says:

  13. Corey Says:

Check out what Merle Hodge said on BSPN yesterday. He claimed Winston is a slow athlete and will be exposed in NFL. Won’t survive at all

  14. Skyline Crew Says:

    @Corey

If we draft him let’s hope that isn’t the case.

  15. Jordan Says:

Thank you MarshallU and can we take pause before saying his accuser was after money? No one knew who Winston was at the time of the incident, which occurred prior to the season. We’ll never know exactly what transpired but I gotta believe the Florida State attorney when he says “There wasn’t enough evidence to convict but something happened that night…and it wasn’t good.” This in response when asked if Winston was innocent. We’re apt to forget when we see talent, charisma, intelligence, but the track record of actions off the field are questionable at best and despicable at worst, so sure, sociopathy can be drawn from that. Up to him to prove he can be an upstanding, contributing member of society, not anyone else.

  16. Skyline Crew Says:

Also, Merril Hoge believes that whomever draft Manziel should be fired and dared to say that Clowney shouldn’t be the #1 draft pick and was terrible. So he does kind of pick the busts. However, like I said, if we draft Winston let’s hope not.

  17. you can't fix it Says:

Your right Robert, If Tampa signs Winston , He will start it all over again after collecting his millions, And will be stuck with this jurk until they trade him or let him go and the Buc’s will have lost a chance to have drafted Mariota, On top of that , will be the laughing stock of the NFL once again !!!!!!!…….

  18. Tiny Tim Says:

Merrill Hodge also said he would draft Gurley first overall. Thats right, he would draft a running back coming off an ACL injury first. So what does that tell you?

Look everyone, its the hypocritical, racist, stealing from his employer, porn addict. Hey, have you registered yourself as a sex offender yet? You should be doing that then posting your racist hypocritical garbage.

  22. Rick Says:

Obviously, both Jameis Winston and Marcus Mariota have the “POTENTIAL” to become franchise quarterbacks. Everyone on this board, including Joe, who should know better, seems to be forgetting that one critical adjective, “POTENTIAL”.

Nothing in life or the NFL is certain. The “POTENTIAL” outcomes are Winston and Mariota both get drafted high, become franchise quarterbacks and lead their teams to Super Bowls with no “off field” issues. Similarly, one or both winds up a bust for either or both on field and off field issues.

Given that the round of Combine, visits, Pro Days and Private Workouts seems to have equalized the two men on the field, with each having his own unique strengths and weaknesses, at least according to the experienced observers. And, given the Bucs’ record of futility since 2002, they can ill afford another swing and a miss. So, I’ll say it again, the least risky move is to take Mariota with the #1 pick.

  23. Joey Says:

    Soooo…if he “didn’t do nothing”…that means he did something…right?

  24. imathenone Says:

The scary thing for me is I think it should be Jameis.
And since nothing I want happens where the Bucs are concerned.
    MM looks likely.

I would not be broken hearted, but I still think, pass on this guy, he succeeds, wins say 70% of his games, MM does 40%. Would not want that to have been my call.

  25. you can't fix it Says:

Interesting, that’s exactly what a sociopath would say.

  31. Bucs_Sam Says:

    Yeah I read this earlier.

What’s the difference between confidence and crazy? Confident is saying your good, crazy is believing catching a bug is impressive.

This kid is a little too impressed with himself.

Did I hurt the baby’s little feelings? You sir are a hypocrite. You feel it is okay to call Winston a “jurk”, but you want to be “respected” for your opinion and don’t want to be called a name? You sir are a idiot and you don’t realize it. I feel sorry for you and those around you. Let that sink in. It is alright for you to call someone a name, yet you are offended when the table is turned? And stating your opinion is fine, but you stated an ignorant comment as if it is fact. And you call me stupid? Little boy you do not know what the meaning of opinion is. Yes you are a “jurk” and a joke. Have fun with that. BTW….what are the lottery numbers for tonight Ms. Cleo?

  33. port richey george Says:

that is why lovie needs to draft an aggressive pass rusher like
Dante Fowler Jr of the florida gators. mike mayock of nfl network has him rated as the #1 pure edge rusher in this draft.
no one thinks dante is a sociopath!

  34. Bucs_Sam Says:

don’t pick on his grammar guys, he’s the smartest Qb we’ve ever seen….. unless you listen to him talk or look at his wonderflic score

  35. Stanglassman Says:

Interesting that’s what a polkcountydude would say.

    @Rick

If according to the experienced observers they were considered equal on the field that would be true but that is clearly not the case. Most experts think Jameis is the superior NFL QB prospect in every way. They do believe Marcus’s is a great athlete, smart and a nice guy but his QB stills are extremely difficult to evaluate because he has never been ask to do what an NFL will be ask to do.

  36. Stanglassman Says:

    @Sam

You have little room to talk about grammar much less act superior to a guy who has accomplished more by age 21 than you will in your lifetime.

  37. road warrior Says:

The media is the Sociopath they are out of control. stfu aholes. You take everything out of context and make it fit what you want. STOP go the fuc away all you need to do is report things at face value. quit twisting things around. i hate the media. It’s one thing to give an opinion it’s another to be stupid. all your trying to do is get attention for yourself. i can only wonder what it would have been like if you aholes would have been around 30 years ago with the crap that went on back then. it was worse then. I get the media people want to have everyone recognize them as some person of importance but doesn’t the truth have some merit. OUT OF CONTROL. you know what they say about opinions. i know this is mine but dam.

  38. Bucs_Sam Says:

    @Stanglassman

You got me. Congrats you win.

Still doesn’t change Winston unfortunately, that wasn’t the prize for your win.

    Good game though.

BTW not acting superior, just pointing out the obvious.

  39. IK Says:

    said the sociopath….
who cares? just play ball and stay out of trouble

  40. Polkcountydude Says:

Stanglassman, thanks for taking my troll bait.

  41. JBuc Says:

So the truth comes out Port Richey George. You’re a Gator fan and just can’t handle having Jameis as the face of the Bucs. I’m sure Treon Harris would be a much better fit.

I’m pretty sure after seeing your poor grammar and word usage on here for the past few months, that Stanford wasn’t offering you to come to their school…unless it was to plunge the toilets.

  43. pick6 Says:

it’s amazing to me how people view the fact that he’s willing to engage in discussions about his mistakes and flaws so willingly as a negative. he took ownership of every incident except the one he did not commit. but you should read the comments on places like profootballtalk. some people won’t be satisfied until he says “i’m a total rapist” and requests and orange jumpsuit and a vacation from society. the kid obviously has alot going for him and doesn’t need my sympathy but i feel for him. i’m sure he’s at peace with the digs at him for what he actually did, but it was the horrible thing that he insists he did not do that alot of people would like to define him by for the rest of his life

  44. pick6 Says:

i really hope those who brush aside all consideration of his innocence and treat the accusation like a conviction have the same experience in their own lives one day.

    I concur

  46. White Tiger Says:

Call Jeramy Stevens or Ben Rothelisberger – if they can’t offer any help in dealing with adversity (in the case of Jeramy Stevens, that would be inadvisable, as one of his ways of dealing with “adversity” was to roofie himself at a stoplight)…they can at least offer some advise on an even better PR and legal team…sure the next “incident” (better known as a “date” to Jameis Winston) may result in 6…er, make that 4…game suspension. You might be as fortunate as Big Ben and find the right type of body-guard/baby-sitter…that can either keep you out of trouble, or keep the trouble from getting to the media!!!

    It’s all good!

  47. White Tiger Says:

Someone should tell the budding young sociopath that using a double negative to defend NOT being a sociopath…may actually be a test to confirm that you are a sociopath…

…and that if you pat yourself on the back for overcoming “adversity”…you should probably NOT be the one to CAUSE ALL THE ADVERSITY…that your teammates have to OVERCOME ON YOUR BEHALF!!??
