Joe Talks Jameis Mentoring, Leadership, Destiny & More

April 29th, 2015

joe_mug_shotIt was time again for the popular JoeBucsFan Hour, when Joe joins the dean of Tampa Bay sports radio, Steve Duemig, every Tuesday at 5 p.m.

There was no shortage of madness and mayhem last night.

Enjoy.

  1. CommonSense Says:

The ideal thing for every team to do is to use the #1 pick in the draft on a player that needs Babysitters and Chaperones
    Yep, that’s good Common Sense

  2. gulfcoast Says:

babysitters….. like, having to hold Mariota’s hand and walk him through the game of football?

  3. Buc1987 Says:

    gulfcoast…YES..just like that..

  4. Mariota Joe Says:

JBF….talk about how badly Infamous is already splitting the Bucs fan base. The vitriol from both sides. How Skippers Smokehouse had to immediately recant and apologize for their Infamous promotion that went WAY bad. It’s real. It’s palpable. And drafting Infamous will only make it worse. And I’m sure there will be follow on posts attacking me which will only offer further proof of this severe split. GLAZERS…DO NOT DRAFT THIS JERK PLEASE!!!

  5. Luther Says:

Mariota will need flash cards, PB & J Otter and Stanley episodes to learn the NFL offense…but he’s a nice guy though.

  6. Pat Says:

Nope, just have to ASK him to do it. He will. Go Mariota!

  7. StPeteBucsFan Says:

    Luther says

Mariota will need flash cards, PB & J Otter and Stanley episodes to learn the NFL offense…but he’s a nice guy though.

Chucky and Jim Mora say Mariota is the number one pick.

    Hmmmm…who to believe?

  8. Love and Warrick Dunn Says:

    @Mariota Joe

No one’s attacking you. I just think you are overestimating the problem. The proof will be in the pudding.

Jameis will be picked. Some people will not like it. There will be no picketers. There will be no riots. Life will go on, as it always does.

P.S. – Are you the Joe with the Mariota “blog”?

  9. Luther Says:

One more thing…I read an article where Jameis was asking his elementary/peewee coach for permission to change plays at the line but you Mariota fans want a guy who changes plays maybe 4 times a game in college.

  10. Buc1987 Says:

Look at the remaining MM lover boys, taking some of their last gasps….

    Too cute. How precious?

  11. Luther Says:

SPBF Chucky liked Rob Johnson and Mora’s own father called his QB (Vick) a coach killer. I do’t trust either of them.

  12. Love and Warrick Dunn Says:

    “StPeteBucsFan Says:

    .

Chucky and Jim Mora say Mariota is the number one pick.”

Clarification. Did they say he SHOULD be the pick, or did they say TB will be drafting him at #1?

  13. Buc1987 Says:

Jon Gruden in fact RAVED about Rob Johnson.

  14. NCMike Says:

What a minute….. Didn’t the Joes say Winston was our “savior”? Now they say don’t expect a turnaround?

  15. rayjay1122 Says:

I find it laughable when I read that Winston has divided the fan base. How has he divided it anymore than Mariota or even Leonard Williams? Unless everyone is in agreement on this, then is that not a divided fan base?

  16. Mariota Joe Says:

    To Love and Warrick Dunn

Already attacked at least once above so far. More to come for sure. And no, I’m not the person on the Mariota blog.

To rayjay1122 You really don’t think the fan base is severely split? Then why did Skippers Smokehouse have to do an immediate apology and retraction?? And the owner is an FSU grad!! You think they’d have to do that if they did a Mariota or Williams promotion? No effin way!! And WHY did they apologize and retract? Because he’s a BUSINESSMAN…..just like the Glazers.

  17. Love and Warrick Dunn Says:

Joe, this is just an excerpt, not the whole article.

August 08, 2002|SAM FARMER | TIMES STAFF WRITER

ORLANDO, Fla. — The meeting was brief, the request bizarre. Tampa Bay Coach Jon Gruden didn’t ask Rob Johnson to throw a pass or even set foot on the football field. A stack of videotapes told Gruden everything he needed to know. Well, almost everything.

“He asked me to lift my shirt to see my abs,” said Johnson, 29. “He’s just crazy like that. He wanted to see how hard I’ve worked.”

Johnson was happy to oblige, and, apparently, Gruden was sufficiently impressed. The Buccaneers promptly signed him to a one-year, $650,000 deal. He’s now competing for the starting quarterback job with incumbent Brad Johnson and Shaun King, and Gruden has raved about the former USC standout.

  18. Luther Says:

    Talk about man love…just creepy

  19. Buc1987 Says:

    Mariota Joe Says :

“To rayjay1122 You really don’t think the fan base is severely split? Then why did Skippers Smokehouse have to do an immediate apology and retraction??”

I read that article….what apology and what retraction?

  20. Love and Warrick Dunn Says:

    @Mariota Joe

You are going to believe what you want to believe. So, will everyone else. Like I said, time will tell. I think you’re wrong. It will be business as usual in Tampa. Jameis will come to rookie camp. Preseason will happen. Football is football. You don’t have to agree with me. Just remember this when nothing out of the normal occurs.

  21. Buc1987 Says:

Mariota Joe…now it’s down to making things up?

    From the Skippers story…

“The announcement resulted in more than 40 comments on Facebook. Skipper’s defended the decision, responding to many of the posts.”

“It was sort of all in fun and all in jest, but yes we’ll stand behind it,” Larson said. “If he comes in, we’ll give him some crab legs.”

“The deal would also apply to Marcus Mariota of Oregon if the Bucs pick him over Winston, Larson said. Either way, the restaurant has no intention of backing off its offer, despite any negative feedback”

    Where’s the apology and retraction?

    STOP LYING!

  22. Love and Warrick Dunn Says:

I’m looking at Skippers facebook page right now. They apologized if they offended anyone, but, the event still is going. It’s benefiting Operation Helping Hands.

Please feel free to post documentation that anything was retracted or cancelled.

  23. Buc1987 Says:

And again…in case anyone missed it the first time…

    Mariota Whiny Joe Says :

This poor guy is coming off the rails…

  24. Love and Warrick Dunn Says:

    @87

The panic will only increase by them in the next 32 hours. Expect further stretching of the truth.

  25. Buc1987 Says:

    “Because he’s a BUSINESSMAN”

    Hilarious!

  26. Pat Says:

Lovie sees eye to eye with who? Guess. Go Mariota!

    http://www.bradenton.com/2015/01/03/5562432_commentary-lovie-smith-marcus.html?rh=1

  27. Eric Says:

Mariota is a great player and prospect.

But Jameis is a little bit greater.

The majority of the scouts, and our bucs I believe, agree.

But you never know. Kinda like Christmas Eve and a big box under the tree with your name on it. You think you know what is in there but not quite sure……………..

No reason to hate either of these kids, or to insult them.

    Go bucs.

  28. Eric Says:

The bucs aren’t going to draft the guy cause of skippers smoke house?

    Get ahold of yourself man.

  29. Buc1987 Says:

So who do we have left that STILL think the pick is going to be MM?

    Mariota Joe
    Pat
    StPeteBucsFan
    SuperSam

    Anymore, am I missing anyone?

  30. Love and Warrick Dunn Says:

    Dude….Erik does!

White Tiger, SAMCRO and FunKy Munkey are anti-Winston, but, not sure if they actually think he wont be picked.

The thing is, it’s hard to go by names, because they keep using new ones.

  31. Eric Says:

I thought it was Winston, until the immense Skippers Smokehouse controversy.

I also heard folks ran out of the charitable events Winston has been attending in Tampa lately, as if they had just seen Hanibal Lector.

Whatever happened to that second non-accuser lawsuit?

And why did only about three people watch that documentary?

And how did he score that high on the wonderlic? Must have cheated. And those darn masterful performances at the combine and pro day. And to think many scouts compared his football IQ to Peyton Manning.

    This is sooooo disappointing.

  32. Luther Says:

Robert 9 is another one. He should be Bob 10 by 8:15pm tomorrow

  33. Buc1987 Says:

That’s right Erik the Free Jersey guy.

    Erik tomorrow is judgement day…

  34. Love and Warrick Dunn Says:

    Also Barry

  35. Pat Says:

    Jameis = Divide & Confuse

    Mariota = Unite & Lead

    Go Mariota!

  36. Buc1987 Says:

    rolling my eyes..

Mariota = Unite & Lead (with flashcards)

  38. Mariota Joe Says:

Guys, ya’ll can spin this any way you want, but just read the freakin news….TBO.com…TMZ…whatever. It’s ALL OVER THE PLACE. If you don’t see it, you’re purposely being disingenuous, because I read your posts, and I know you’re not that ignorant. This is happening ONLY because of Infamous, PERIOD!

    http://www.tampabay.com/news/humaninterest/some-not-happy-with-skippers-smokehouses-free-crab-legs-offer/2227192

  39. Mariota Joe Says:

…and once again, the attacks come at those of us who don’t want Infamous on our Buccaneer team. It’s really pathetic to attack me…but go for it!! It is getting more attention to me and the position many of us have taken. It sure as hell got Skipper’s Smokehouse’s attention!!! Keep it up…fire away at me!!! (And I’m sure more will follow, either on this thread or another one). It’s like “YOU DON’T LOVE INFAMOUS? THEN YOU SUCK!” Do you guys realize how ridiculous that is?

  40. JameisBucsQB Says:

There’s a lot more of us want him on OUR Tampa Bay Buccaneers team.

  41. Buc1987 Says:

    From the Skippers story…

“The announcement resulted in more than 40 comments on Facebook. Skipper’s defended the decision, responding to many of the posts.”

“It was sort of all in fun and all in jest, but yes we’ll stand behind it,” Larson said. “If he comes in, we’ll give him some crab legs.”

“The deal would also apply to Marcus Mariota of Oregon if the Bucs pick him over Winston, Larson said. Either way, the restaurant has no intention of backing off its offer, despite any negative feedback”

  42. Buc1987 Says:

Mariots Joe…the sky is falling….the sky is falling….

    Oh me oh my.

Whatever are we going to do?

Draft Jameis that’s what we’re going to do.

  43. Mariota Joe Says:

You want him on your team? That’s your opinion, but I will NOT attack you, as so many Infamous fans attack those of us who disagree. Don’t ya’ll see that?? He is undoubtedly a divider, and fellas, it’s not my fault!! Your efforts should focus on Infamous, not me. You nor I mean spit in this debate. We’re fleas compared to the elephant in the room….Infamous. And I refuse to be a flea on that sordid elephant in the room. So bring your your comments, but point them at Infamous…or Mariota. You can demean Mariota if you like (but there ain’t much there to demean, is there?).

  44. Pat Says:

If all things are equal…it really comes down to TRUST.

    What is Trust?
At a minimal level, trust is the absence of fear in a relationship:
It’s knowing that you won’t intentionally hurt me.
But at a higher level, it’s a reliance – knowing that:
–you will be there for me when I need you
–you won’t sacrifice me for your self interest
–you can be counted on to work for my best interests as well as yours
–ultimately I will be better off from having trusted you

    The High Cost of Distrust
Distrust is the most insidious and corrosive forces in any relationship, whether it be between two people, within a family, or in a team.
Distrust saps people’s energies, disorients them from focusing on important issues, and causes innumerable maneuvers to protect them, including over-burdensome contracts, litigation, fruitless blaming, escalations, and a never-ending stream of other protectionist fervor.

So, who has IT (the trust factor) between the 2?

    Go Mariota!

  45. Buc1987 Says:

Get all the nonsense in while you still can…take your last gasps…

  46. charactermatters Says:

    Eric,
Mariota scored higher on the wonderlic than Jameis.

  47. Buc1987 Says:

charactermatters …Eric’s point was most fans thought Winston would score around a 10…

Why…..are we even still talking about Mariota and what’s he’s done? I don’t know.

    What’s…….the point? I don’t know.

    Will……he be a Buc tomorrow? I’m 1000% sure that he won’t.

  48. Pat Says:

    wonderlics…

    Manning (28) > Leaf (27)

    Mariota (33) > Jameis (27)

  49. Pat Says:

    wonderlics…

    Manning (28) > Leaf (27)

    Mariota (33) > Jameis (27)

    Go Mariota!
