Michael Johnson Returns To Bengals

March 15th, 2015

michael johnson 1014Per BSPN, this morning the Bengals embraced their homesick son, ghostly and ghastly former Bucs defensive end Michael Johnson.

Good for Johnson. He robbed Team Glazer and now goes back to where he wanted to be all along. Joe wonders what kind of excuse Johnson’s agent will find when Johnson continues to stink.

I hope we play them this year.

  2. DraftJameis Says:

You could see the hesitance in being here the day of his initial press conference. Good riddance, mental midget.

  3. Buccfan37 Says:

Lovie thought he snatched himself a winner, instead he bought a player who thought he would go to a lousy team and be better since nobody would notice his decline and lack of effort up against what they had as players. The head deciders here in Bucsville could’nt tell a winner from a lemon, Mr. Magoo like.

  4. road warrior Says:

I think his agent played it just right helping him get out of tampa he didn’t want to be here. plus the fact he wasn’t very good last year.

  5. Bucworld Says:

He will play better because he wants to be there. Was he really that good with the bengals before he signed with Tampa? I was a little skeptical when we first signed him. He didn’t strike me as a dominant edge rusher.

  6. Pickgrin Says:

Thanks for nothing Johnson. Enjoy your $16M for 1 crappy effortless season courtesy of the Glazer’s deep pockets. Injuries are understandable – and I know you had your share in 2014. But the lack of effort you put on tape last year is just flat out shameful.

  7. rayjay1122 Says:

The Bengals are going to be saying fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me! I guess maybe they think they can get something out of the ghost this time around?

  8. ElioT Says:

This guy is one of the biggest pu**ies I’ve ever seen on a football field.

He should have to donate his $7,000,000 from the Bucs this year to charity.

F*ck you MJ! Go rupture a spleen!

    Go Sucs!

  9. Jeagan1999 Says:

Happens all the time. Why doe you think Lovie brings in so many ex-Bears? Better the devil you know…..

  10. JJV Says:

All will be forgotten once we draft Leonard Williams.

  11. Architek Says:

    P$&@y!!!

  12. StPeteBucsFan Says:

Does anybody know the $$$ involved. Johnson has his $16 million from the Bucs already banked so Johnson could afford to accept any deal.

The Bungles probably got him really cheap with an incentive laden one year deal and very little guaranteed money.

As much as it sucks for Bucs fans this all makes perfect sense. The Bucs get rid of a festering sore, the Bungles get a no lose deal since Johnson already has the money from the Bus…and of course Johnson….he’s a multi millionaire.

  13. Ray Rice Says:

    What a BIIIITCH!

  14. Strider #FamousJameis Says:

    #Bum

  15. Bill Says:

A bit off topic, but I’d love to know how situations like this play out for the agent. If I’m Licht I don’t even answer this guys calls anymore.

  16. Bird Says:

He got 4 yrs 24 million from bengals. Wow. That is 24 million to much.

  17. mac Says:

Watch Michael Johnson will be an all pro next year…

  18. ForgotAbootDre Says:

The Bengals are still getting a 3rd comp pick for losing him lol. We’re the worst.

  19. WS99 Says:

Sign Michael Sam, can’t be any worse. Plus I hear his parties are Faaaabulous!

  20. JJV Says:

Michael Sam will be too busy for now as he appears on Dancing With The Stars. He replaced Michael Johnson on the show after the producers decide to have MJ do the Fall season instead so he can be festive in his ghost costume each week.

  21. StPeteBucsFan Says:

    @Bill

If I’m Licht I don’t even answer this guys calls anymore.

There are definitely agents in the league that GM’s hate to deal with and avoid IF they can. I suspect it depends on how much of a self inflicted wound this was.

IE Did the agent play real hard ball with Bucs or were the Bucs just suckers.
Probably a combination of both. The other wild card for me is whether Johnson’s injuries were known before the deal and only got worse after he started playing.

Some agents are so despised GM’s will even collaborate secretly when the agent tries to use leverage by playing one GM against another. If the agent has a bad rep sometimes GM’s just tell each other don’t worry we’re not in the market…no smoke screens.

  22. topcoach1978 Says:

This dude gets a whopping total of 23 million dollars from us and Cincinatti gets a compensation 3rd round pick from us and all we got was 3 sacks wow what a waste of time and money he straight robbed us on this deal….bastard!!!

  23. Horice Says:

I would’ve felt better about this if he wore a ski mask and had weapon in his hand. Then we would’ve at least known it was a Stick up, instead of the way he robbed our team.

  24. Buc1987 Says:

Seeing this guy makes me wonder WTH I was thinking about when I decided to play soccer instead of football in high school.

Money for nothin’ and chicks for free
Now that ain’t workin’, that’s the way you do it
Lemme tell ya, them guys ain’t dumb
Maybe get a blister on your little finger
Maybe get a blister on your thumb

  25. Buc1987 Says:

    How fitting ya know?

I pick a Dire Straits song….which is basically what are team is in right now.

  26. Bill Says:

    @St Pete,

I hear ya. I was focusing more on the recent move, publicly stating MJ missed Cinci and he was never a pass rusher to begin with. All that may be true, but professional courtesy would lead me to work out a trade, not destroy all trade leverage and force a release. I know it’s a business, but if that’s how an agent does business I wouldn’t be doing business with said agent for much longer.

  27. Buc1987 Says:

This guy is signed…and Hardy is still sitting out there. SMH

  28. JonBuc Says:

    2 years in a row
    2 different bumbling GMs
2 one year/$16 million dollar deals
    2 bad!

At least Lichts Out didnt give up a 1st & 4th round pick….so there’s that.

  29. lurker Says:

    @AdamSchefter
Bengals gave Michael Johnson a 4-yr, $20 million deal that pays him $6 million this year. With Bucs’ $7 million, Johnson makes $13M in 2015.

  30. bjb Says:

THEY MIGHT AS WELL TAKE THE TAMPERING RULE OUT OF THE NFL. IF THIS IS NOT TAMPERING BY THE BENGALS, THEN THE RULE MOST NOT EXIST. CAN
ANYONE EXPLAIN TO ME HOW THIS IS NOT TAMPERING? OH YEAH, I GUESS AN ORGANIZATION MUST HAVE THE BALLS TO FILE A COMPLAINT WITH THE LEAGUE. FORGET THAT LAST QUESTION GUYS, I JUST ANSWERED IT MYSELF.

  31. bucit1016 Says:

Just read we owe cincy a third round compensatory pick on top of paying Charmin Johnson. REALLY???

  32. fastclipper4444 Says:

Can you be sure he will continue to stink?

  33. lurker Says:

“Just read we owe cincy a third round compensatory pick on top of paying Charmin Johnson. REALLY???”

    ————————————–

not really. we don’t pay it. that is not how comp picks work.

  34. Buc Says:

Honestly this guy stole his paychecks all season. Michael heres to you ending up on ESPN 30 for 30 “Broke” in three years

  35. Max Says:

this guy is a dumb hick (just watch his interviews) but his agent is one slick mother
