There were plenty of laughs in the Bucs locker room tonight. When a defensive tackle rumbles for a touchdown like starter Clinton McDonald did, all kinds of smiles and trash talking can be expected

Bucs rookie Mike Evans said he couldn’t believe McDonald scored his first Bucs touchdown before he did.

McDonald was advised of Evans’ comment, and McDonald replied, “Well, he coulda had one,” referring to Evans’ fumbled-away score at the goal line last week against Miami.

Fun stuff.

McDonald told Joe and other media he was a linebacker and a tight end in high school, which was the last time he was spotted in the end zone.

Regarding the Bucs’ dominating defense, McDonald, who earned a Super Bowl ring with Seattle last year, pulled no punches when asked whether the Bucs’ first-half shutout was Super Bowl caliber.

“That’s exactly what it’s supposed to look like,” he said.

    Joe,

I was looking in on a Bills blog (not posting anything, just reading). The Bills fans reaction to the game was realistic and very interesting. One of the Posts really caught my eye. It went something like this. ” Our Two guards and RT could not stop the Tampa Tide rush. EJ had no chance.

“Tampa Tide”…I love it! Will use this for now on when talking about our Dline.

  4. Mike10 Says:

Barron didn’t start… What are we making of this?

    Red Tide!

  6. Tackleblockwin Says:

    “Tampa Tide” or “Red Tide”

Both are pretty catchy. To be clear, I’m not a fan of Alabama football…lol.

  7. Buccanr1 Says:

    Red tide no good.
Signed, Clearwater beach chamber of commerce.

  8. Buccanr1 Says:

Joe, is obviously not a fisherman or boater.

  9. Buccanr1 Says:

Sounds like a woman’s time of month, otherwise Tampa tide sounds good.

    Did anyone see “house party”

  13. meh Says:

The defense was absolutely rocking last night. A couple rough spots, but overall, it is looking very, very good.

  14. Dennis Says:

Whoa, could it be? Steady improvement, week after week like a real franchise. The guards are the weak link in the offense, no surprise there but I did see improvement against a formidable Bills D line. I’m ALL in.

  15. Tomcin Says:

Not much in the way of depth.

  16. Bucsnbeer Says:

ROLLLLL Tampa Tide! Wow I’m original!

  17. DB55 Says:

McDonald played lights out I’m so happy we upgraded that position. I wouldn’t be surprised is spence gets cut. Solomon has been playing well also.

  18. dmon Says:

Name needs a little more surge..Tampa Tidal Wave

  19. Stanglassman Says:

    No way they cut Spence.

Solomon plays DE and is competing with English and Means. That is a good competition.

  20. Joe Says:

    No way they cut Spence.

HELL NO, the Bucs aren’t cutting Spence.

  21. DB55 Says:

Idk I have my reasons but we’ll see what happens. When do you expect the cut to 75 to be announced?

  22. DB55 Says:

    I stand corrected.

  23. Tbucsfan Says:

“Tampa Tidal Wave” Nice! : )…………..Joe I vote we make it official.
