We passed on him for now. Good.

  2. SAMCRO Says:

This one had to hurt, but we know you have to somehow save face. No negative commentary. lol …smh

  3. Gus Says:

You don’t have to worry joe. They decline signing him. Probably because of all the media complaints.

  4. RastaMon Says:

and Rachael Watson will caddy for him…..

  5. DallasBuc Says:

I wish we had guards that could play…before training camp started. What a mess!

  6. Dusthty Rhothdes Says:

Saw the segment with Jaws and I am guessing with him playing in the 70s and 80s he probably saw some crazy things going on and comes from an era where the pussification of america was not on any radar

  7. Bob Says:

Yeah but he’s not good enough for our great local media. I’m just hoping Licht and Lovie are not persuaded by the ridiculous overblown negative hype our holier than thou media is spewing. This just in we’re not the only team with O-line issues so trying to make it look like Lovie cannot evaluate talent in this area is foolish otherwise why would just stand pat and say we got our guys. You don’t know what you have until you are able to evaluate.. They have done this and are making changes to improve it. I’m guessing we make a play for Boone as well. Teams that are far more established have weakness at the guard spot as well so it’s not just a team issue.

  8. bucrightoff Says:

If they decline to sign him, and he signs elsewhere, and we’re sitting here at week 4 with an offensive line that has allowed 20 sacks, the heat on Lovie and Licht will be intense. The bad line of last year would be replaced by the horrific line of this year. It would be a debacle.

  9. kh Says:

The local media wants it both ways, complain about the guards and then complain about the guy they want to upgrade him with. Spare me the moral high ground and give me better football players.

  10. Maze Says:

Sign his crazy ass like I called it months ago. That is if the Bucs actually want to score points and win

  11. buddha Says:

Yes, let’s fire Lovie and Licht because in one year they didn’t make the Buccaneers a perfect team.

  12. bucrightoff Says:

I didn’t say they’d be fired, I said they would get a lot of heat. Everyone acknowledges the Bucs had a poor offensive line last year, so for the new regime to jetison 2 starters and then rely on an unreliable player (Nicks), and have the line get somehow worse, would absolutely bring heat on them. To think otherwise is very naive.

  13. Patrick in VA Says:

line did decent on Saturday. Whether they bring in Richie or not, the Bucs had success with the line they have against a good defense. If the guy from KC is an upgrade for us, when he’s ready to play, then I think we’ll be fine. We can’t have pro bowlers at every position. The salary cap ensures that. O-line will be our weakness this year and we just have to hope they can gameplan to compensate for that weakness, like every other team is doing to cover their weaknesses.

  14. Justin Says:

LOL love the fans on here who think we have a better offensive line on the field now that we didn’t sign a pro bowl caliber player because of his off hte field issues with another team. These are the same people claiming Mike Williams was “run out” of Tampa because he wasn’t given a fair shake…Let me guess, you also agreed with Joe that the Bucs should draft Manziel? How’s he looking right now through the preseason?

  15. Snook Says:

Can’t believe no one’s figured this out yet.

Bucs will sign him the day after they play the Panthers… meaning his contract won’t be guaranteed for 2014.

And no one will complain when the Bucs win with an upgraded move for their O-Line.

  16. Red Neck tobacco spitters Says:

    Yeeeeeeeeeeeeee HHAAAAAAWWWWW!

    Sign that there boy!

  17. buddha Says:

Thank goodness for the local press and for Joe. They are the adults in the room.

  18. Robbie_G Says:

Joe you are slipping, don’t you want to say Ron Jaworski, one of one 2 QB’s to take the Eagles to the super bowl?

  19. FLBoyInDallas Says:

Not signing him for now means absolutely nothing. Not signing him after week 1 of the regular season will be the real indicator. So just keep your panties from getting bunched up, ladies.

  20. Tampabaybucfan Says:

    Here is the real question.

Would you rather have a ROTTWEILER or LABRADOR for protection.

I can guarantee you (except current Buc guards) the players would vote overwhelmingly YES!!!

And….that includes Minorities, Sissys & any closet Gays on the team….

  21. Newbucsfan!!! Says:

At first I didn’t care but because the Tampa media wants to be the NY/Chicago media slums I am for signing this guy. Now I hope the Bucs organization starts to act like the Patriots, Raiders, Ravens, and other clubs who give fresh starts to every player who can help them win regardless of past discretion’s. I hope that coach Lovie stops smiling and giving access to the Tampa media like he has while giving boring interviews like the coaches mentioned above. SIGN HIM BUCS on general principle, the Tampa media be damned!

  22. Mcruzer Says:

    Logan Mankiins coming to TB!
