Gholston Talks Wake-Up Calls, Speedos & More

June 28th, 2014

will gholston 1208-pngEnjoy this excellent interview of Bucs second-year defensive end Will Gholston, the manbeast, 6-foot-7, 275-pounder who became a starter late last season.

The video is from late February, but it’s timeless. Gholston talks about his transition to the college game, various aspects of his career, and how a bizarre rule kept him from wearing a Speedo in public.

Enjoy.

Gholston deserves to be the starter after getting three sacks so quickly when he finally got to start. He would have been a double figure sacker last year if Stupid Schiano had any eye for talent and started him from the beginning of the season. He can even play DT in an emergency, so he adds important flexibility.

Woah buddy. The reason why he didn’t get playing time was because he didn’t develop. Gerald McCoy said he didn’t even know a pass rush move and was raw in that department entering training camp last year. That said Gholston came on quickly and developed and didn’t see the field until he proved he was ready. When he got on the field he ripped it up.

  7. Brandon Says:

Contrary to Speedo wearers opinion, the ladies don’t want to see them sporting their junk. Almost everything we do as far as our appearance and style has to do with attracting members of the opposite sex…and I’ve never met a woman that likes men in Speedos.

  8. Jim Walker Says:

Very articulate and charming young man. Sounds like he works hard as well. Those above him on the depth chart better step it up or this kid will snatch your spot from you.

  9. Lion Says:

This guys is our “diamond in the rough”. I honestly have a lot a faith in Gholston and believe that he will be a pro-bowl level player in the near future. Mark this up as another stud player drafted by Dom.

Can’t wait to see him play this year.
