Joe Talks Bucs With The Big Dog

January 8th, 2014

All things Bucs were on the table this evening on WDAE-AM 620 during Joe’s weekly hour with the dean of Tampa Bay sports radio, Steve Duemig.  Of course, Lovie Smith, roster-building, Johnny Football, Mike Glennon and much more were discussed.

    @Joe,

You had to be embarrassed when the Big Dog suggested Lovie bring in Freeman to compete with Glennon. I had a big laugh over that one.

  2. PRBucFan Says:

It was the most embarrassing Buc-related thing I’ve heard in a while lol

Good listen. Keep these coming, Joe….I enjoy listening especially when on the road heading home or even when lunching solo.

And Joe, I’m sure you don’t care and have your reasons in why you went the “read more” option….But I really dislike it lol, especially because I do most of my web surfing via iPhone, so at times it makes me not wanna click it and read more because I feel like it’s too much trouble lol…so I’ll get what I need from the front page if it’s just satisfying enough…lol.

I know that sounds silly and strange for me to say and do, but yeah I don’t know if you get THE MOST out of your page and readers by having the “read more” option because of what I said and few other reasons.

I know you’ve heard enough of it already and have had it for a while now, I just had never expressed my opinion on it…. Really enjoyed the page when all I had to do was click the book mark and scroll!

Not asking for a change but just giving you some feed back from a regular reader (since just about 2008 I believe) so you can take it however you’d like.

Keep up the good work. Thanks & Go BUCS!

    P.s.

I really want us to do whatever we have to in order to draft Manziel as long as it’s not mortgaging much of our franchise in particular future draft picks.

  4. BuccaneerBonzai Says:

If Manziel and Clowney somehow manage to be available at 7, no way does Lovie pass on Clowney. We would then have to stick wi Glennon, draft a qb in round 2 or sign a vet.

And Josh McCown is NOT the answer. First, he is too old. Second, he had a few good ga es in his long career, amd third? He’s retiring.

I was a Freemanite, but BD is out of his mind for suggesting Josh be brought back in. Too much locker room issues now. These players respected Greg, and Freeman set him up.

  5. Patrick in VA Says:

@Joe, I thought you had a pretty salient point on the show that I had overlooked and hasn’t been brought up by anyone else. The same group that didn’t think that Freeman needed any guidance gave none to Glennon either when he got the starting job. As a rookie, this kid had no guidance. Everyone’s opinion on what Glennon showed is irrelevant because none of us know what he could do with not just a proper play caller (which he didn’t have) but also just a QB coach that brought his mechanics up to the NFL level. Fill another hole on this team with the top pick. Bring in another couple quality QBs via FA or later rounds in the draft and let’s see what the kid can actually do.

Joe didn’t say Glennon had no guidance. Obviously, he was groomed pretty darn well. What Glennon didn’t get was instruction in mechanics and those kinds of finer points of QB play that don’t involve ball security. –Joe

Freeman had 5 years worth of guidance from numerous people.

Get out of here with that nonsense
