“Full-Go” For Dashon Goldson

November 8th, 2013

Darrelle Revis has played elite football over the past two games. Lavonte David is an undisputed beast. Gerald McCoy is a manbeast. Mark Barron is starting to look like a first-round pick.

And now, All-Pro safety Dashon Goldson was an excited “full-go” at practice, exclaimed Greg Schiano today. Goldson is expected to return Monday from his minor knee injury.

This Bucs defense has big-time talent at every level. The New Schiano Order has got to get the guys complementing the starts to produce. It’s mind-blowing that the D-line has seven total sacks in eight games with a disruptive force like McCoy in the mix.

Yeah but the scheme makes no sense and is ineffective for the most part. Their zone packages are catered toward the offense and have no concept, no rhyme or reason.

The day they fire Schiano and the family feud the team will improve immensely!

  2. joseph mamma Says:

Yeah what would we do without Dashon ’15 yard penalty waiting to happen’ Goldson?

  3. Biff Barker Says:

Mind blowing Joe? That occurred so many games back that the fragments are fragmenting.
    I simply hate this stunting.

  4. Skelly Says:

Yeah! We are only another CB or 2 and 2 DE’s away from being nasty!

  5. Tampabaybucfan Says:

The mediocre play of AC and poor play of Teo….and no backup from Bowers….is unacceptable……Banks is a project and we really can’t afford OJT for him…..

  6. DCBUCSFAN Says:

The only piece missing now is a qualified coaching staff!

  7. buccanAy Says:

would we have been better off if we had picked up Brent Grimes and Sean Smith, kept Bennet, and kept our 2013 1st round pick? I know hindsight is 20/20, but this team is severely lacking in talent in the trenches, and depth at WR and CB, and of course TE, though Wright is looking decent. Should we have done the Revis trade?

  8. buccanAy Says:

also think Goldson and Barron are both SS’s and the staff doesn’t seem to see the “big picture”. We need a “ball-hawking” FS, which neither are.

  9. Capt. Tim Says:

Cool, love Goldson! He’s a beast!
But why do we have two strong safeties?

The pass rush isn’t mind boggling at all. It’s what I said in April.
Achilles is the slowest recovery of any leg injury. I showed measurable improvement for over two years. Plus Bowers was coming off a knee injury, when he tore the Achilles. He’s really a tecovering second year player- who’s been to one training camp! Plus he has to loo around both lines before he can track to the QB!!
If they asked me to run that far, I’d demand a Segway!

Clayborn is less than a year from a nasty ACL tear. He too has missed a year- and is really a Second year player.

And someone expected greatness- from two crippled greenhorns?
    Riiiiiiight.
Question is- why are they all we have at DE??
If they stay healthy- both will be beast next year. No doubt at all. But only a fool would have expected it this year.

Watch and see. Next year- they will earn their draft status. This year- there should have been Bennett, and maybe Randle, giving them a breather- and adding to the rush.

Anybody see a DE backup( or Teo) do anything??
    Nope. Didn’t think so

  10. Capt. Tim Says:

Banks is a Rookie. If you are desperate enough to start a Rookie- then you Burn as they learn. It has always- and will always be that way

  11. blackmagic00 Says:

    Martin is on ir.

  12. D-Rome Says:

I looked on the site and couldn’t find it so I’m posting it here. My apologies in advance if Joe already said this. I just got the update from NFL.com app that Doug Martin was finally placed on IR.

  13. WinterSpringsBucsFan Says:

@Capn. Tim – Anybody see a DE backup( or Teo) do anything??
    Nope. Didn’t think so

I Agree. They have nobody to back up our DE or DT for that matter. Who owns the responsibility for that, Dominik, Schiano or both? You had some guys sitting out there in FA (Seymour, Hampton, Vandenbosch) that could have at least provided a few quality snaps giving our starters a breather. I will just be thankful when this season is over and things can get addressed and fixed.

  14. SeanyMac in SC Says:

Glad to hear after 8 games he’s finally ready to go. A good D starts from the front end, not the back end. We need a new QB-killa!

  15. bigpoppabuc Says:

G-mac has the fastest get off in the history of football… But we ZERO push from the ends. Qbs know this and have mastered sliding out of a rushing McCoy’s path. AC is standing on the line and basically running lateral every play, while basically eats space for a living.

so when it comes to the D-line I think the scheme is crippling these young talented players.

  16. Ryan CO Says:

In Banks defense, I think the experience he gets this early on, being targeted so often is only going to make the kid stellar in a year or two. Give Revis time to coach the kid a bit, let him make his rookie mistakes, and good luck to everyone next year. Banks is a solid #2 for our defense, does he make mistakes that cost the team? Of course, but what can you expect from a rookie corner taking the blunt of teams throwing away from Revis for the most part? I worry more about the team having to learn an entire new system over the offseason more than grabbing a huge defensive line prospect in the draft. Bucs need skill players at WR beyond belief VJax is only guy on team that can get open on any consistent basis

Maybe so man, maybe so. Of course I’ve been saying stuff like this when it comes to the Revis deal since August. People thought I was crazy, but meh, I am crazy soooo.

The team should have and could have added two quality starting DB’s and one back up with the kind of money they are paying Revis. BUT like I said before Revis sells tickets and jerseys.

The great talent can’t win a game.

  19. The_Buc_Realist Says:

its amazing how the coaching is keeping all these players from pro-bowl honors.

  20. Free's A Boob Says:

Revis, by his own admission, can’t play a full game on his “island” yet. Trade was stupid:
    1. We lost a first and a 3rd next year
    2. Misled the fan base to believe this was the final piece.
    3. We could have got him this off-season w/o the loss of the pick and for less money.

As a result everyone is upset that the coaching staff won’t put Revis in a situation he says he can’t handle yet.

  21. Bobby Says:

We weren’t going to the playoffs this year anyway so what does it matter if we are 8-8 or 0-16? The Revis trade will pay off when we do get the proper coaches and find that DE that we need to compliment McCoy. Banks will get the experience he needs this year and we can pick up a DE and some WR help in the draft as well as some O-line help. If Glennon continues to improve at the pace he’s on and James develops into a solid compliment for Martin then this season was good prep for a playoff run. Probably not next year but in 2015. Could be next year if we get the proper coaches that can scheme to utilize the talent we have but normally a new system takes time for any team to master.
