McCoy Can Stall The Eagles

October 12th, 2013

The excellent Playbook crew on NFL Network has studied the film and predicts an Eagles victory Sunday. Watch the segment here.

The Eagles’ running game is stout, and Sterling Sharpe dives into how Gerald McCoy has the skills and knowledge to change the game. Also, the breakdown of Nick Foles is downright scary — for Bucs fans.

As Joe’s written previously, the Bucs have four offensive touchdowns in four games. Four!

Joe believes that’s the key to the game for the Bucs. Even if the Bucs slow the Eagles’ high-powered offense, Mike Glennon is surely going to have to lead the Bucs to at least 17 points to win Sunday. That would be breaking new ground for this offense.

GMC will have a nice game as always, but you’re right Joe, the Bucs need to score if they want to have a chance at beating the Eagles. Great defense will not cut it anymore in the NFL.

Yes! To beat the Eagles we’re going to have to score. They’ve put points up on everybody they’ve played even in a loss. Not only will we have to score, but we need to stay in front. Like any rookie who has to press, Glennon will make mistakes. We need to keep his confidence up. I still like the Bucs 24-21.

We will need more than 17…..at least 24 is necessary…I do think our defense will score in this game

Hopefully GMC shows up for more than 1 or 2 quarters.

Definitely gonna need more than 17 points, but considering we’re averaging only 11 points a game, that’s a fairly tall order. Yet, we’re 5-1 coming off bye week home games, so there is hope.

    BUCS 24
    Eagles 21 ????????

The thing that beat the Bucs against Philly and most teams in the last 10 Games: Losing the TOP battle.
Sully needs to mix things up. Eagles are coming in with a line up 8-9 in the box game plan. With a bad secondary, they need to take shots on early downs.

Also, they need to disguise their runs more often. Running the “Heavy Formation” on 1 and 2 down is obvious. Please Sully, if us fans can telegraph it, what do you think professional football players and coaches are doing?

I don’t see us winning. I’m hoping we do, but as an outside perspective, I don’t see it happening. Jackson will not have Revis in man to man. Banks is most likely out. If our coaching staff would just let Revis press the WR, that’s the day we can call him Revis island again. Right now, it’s Revis cover 2/3.

    Prediction: Eagles 24 Bucs 13

rung around hits some body and bucs win 20 17

The Eagles aren’t the Saints and we held them down. I expect the same in this game. It’s all on our offense to step up. We get the run going we win easily.
