“There’s No Magic Pill”

September 22nd, 2013

Seemingly not referring to the Adderrall-popping ways of Aqib Talib, who today shut down Vincent Jackson and picked off Josh Freeman, the leader of the New Schiano Order talked after the game about how “there’s no magic pill” when it comes to fixing the Bucs.

Greg Schiano took responsibility for the loss. Hear the full Schiano postgame news conference below, courtesy of the Buccaneers Radio Network and WDAE-AM 620.

what they are saying in boston……this team gets beat during the week so when they play on sunday’s they’ve already lost

Relocated to Tampa Bay this offseason, where zone defense is the preferred method of operation, Revis Island has been reduced to a landing strip. In no way is it the fearsome location of old. On certain plays, receivers are only subject to a brief delay while en route to more favorable destinations.

During New England’s 23-3 win over the Bucs Sunday, there were hardly enough delays to even consider it an annoyance.

From the outside looking in, despite Revis’ recent complaints about Tampa Bay’s schemes, it was odd to see the one of the game’s best shutdown cornerbacks pass off his receiver to a safety. But the Patriots prepared for exactly that.

“From watching the film and everything, we knew that it was going to be a split safety team and a zone team,” rookie receiver Kenbrell Thompkins said. “So we had been preaching all week in practice to get open and run great routes against great cornerbacks like Darrelle Revis and those guys, and get the timing down with the quarterback.”

There’s a magic pill. It’s called cyanide. You take it and it puts you out of your misery from watching this abortion of a team.

I actually watched the game tonight. Had another commitment today and only got to see the score on my phone.

It wasn’t as bad as i thought it was gong to be.

The Bucs were winning until late in the first half. They should have scored a TD and made the 1st FG. That would have given them 10-0 lead.

They were more or less stopping Brady.

The 2nd TD Brady threw, prior to that, the refs AGAIN called several penalties to help the other team. I mean, these refs are out to get us. Talk about bad luck. Re-watch the first half. Not bad until the last 5 mins.

Then Freeman throws an INT and lets them put 3 more on the board.

The second half, again, it wasn’t a blow out. Somehow, penalties and Freeman’s incompletions put the Pats in scoring position. They actually only kicked 2 FGs in the 2nd half.
