Maybe they can pick up Josh Johnson.

  2. MadMax Says:

Not able to plan against a QB can be trivial but doable. Especially against a rookie.

Im more worried about their D!

  3. NJBucsFan Says:

Wouldn’t mind seeing Michael Robinson blocking for Doug

  4. MadMax Says:

Is it too late to try hiring Mike Zimmer or Lovie Smith?

  5. MadMax Says:

Sorry for looking ahead 🙁 …..

  6. RBellBuc Says:

I love how reporters always think they are smarter than the coach’s. If the coach’s ran their teams according to what the reporters suggest, the first time it totally crapped the bed the reporters would be all over the coach for being influenced by outside sources and they’re not smart enough to run their own team. …sometimes it’s the media who can be your biggest adversary.

  7. Tampabaybucfan Says:

Well Buc Fans…..at least we don’t have this problem!!!

    Revis is salivating….

  8. RBellBuc Says:

Seahawks released CB Antoine Winfield. We should claim him. He would be a perfect fit for the slot. He is above average against the run and has enough speed and agility to defend short passing routes. Atn his age he can no longer defend one on one on the outside but perfect for the slot or maybe convert to safety.

  9. BuccaneerBonzai Says:

Wonder what the Jets would do if Smith got injured in week one?

MadMax, have a little confidence! 😉

  10. RBellBuc Says:

They’d probably go with Matt Simms. I think Capt. Albano prefers him over Sanchez and Smith. lol

“Seahawks released CB Antoine Winfield. We should claim him.”

I think a 36 year old CB is pushing it a bit. Given the number of injuries we usually get in Tampa, that would be a very bad investment.

  12. BuccaneerBonzai Says:

A more appropriate investment would be Jimmy Clausen. Cut Dan-O. That gives us two young guys to develop, one a high round pick.

Plus Clausen will have insights into the offense of a division rival. You never know what Sully could get out of him.

  13. BucKing 3 Says:

    Joe,
Did you see that the Bucs put Tynes on NFI but are also going to pay his full salary. Smart move by the higher-ups to hopefully help avoid any future lawsuits.

  14. RBellBuc Says:

Too old? lol Barber played last year at a high level at 37. Winfield was ranked second best in tackles behind Sherman last year. Considering the lack of depth, and the fact that he could play the slot or convert to safety on a one year stop gap deal wouldn’t be a bad ideal. Just his ability to read offenses gives him credibility. Imagine Winfield on the field at the same time as Revis, Barron, Goldson, and Banks.

  15. Patrick in VA Says:

Was just rewatching some of our games from this preseason. Not a doomsday kinda guy because of meaningless preseason performance but I couldn’t help but notice how often we’re dropping very catchable balls this year. Joe, in your attractions with players, have you got any indications that it’s due to a drop off in coaching from our WR coach last year?

  16. Patrick in VA Says:

Attractions = interactions. Pretty unfortunate autocorrect casualty there

  17. RBellBuc Says:

I’m glad you clarified that Patrick ..lol

  18. Patrick in VA Says:

Yeah, post took on a while different tone with that auto correction

  19. Patrick in VA Says:

    I quit

  20. Splengo Says:

Tell the Glennon Mob that Tim Tebow is now available. Anybody but Freeman. Lol.

  21. MadMax Says:

@Bonzai, its hard to do right now….all I know is we had better come out firing on ALL cylinders in taking this Jets game serious. If we dont, Im going to be even more sad. If we lose that game, I’ll be driving to Tampa to talk Raphael from jumping off of the skyway!

  22. RBellBuc Says:

Max you sound like me, you’re just not sure what to expect. Cautiously optimistic.. 🙂

  23. LUVMYBUCS Says:

CB Chase Minnifield & OT Xavier Nixon Cut.

2 decent prospects for Dom to look at

  24. LUVMYBUCS Says:

    CB Aaron Hester

  25. LUVMYBUCS Says:

    FB Jorvorskie Lane

  26. Buc1987 Says:

RBellBuc …some dude at the game in my section asked me this on Thursday. He turns around and says. So ah what do you think? I said think about what this game? He says yah that and the season. It took me about 20 seconds or so. I shrugged and said ya know I really don’t know. Of course my mind at the time was soaked down in beer and the crappy preseason game that I was witnessing. Then I just told him if you would’ve asked me 3 weeks ago I would have confidently said 11-5 division champs and now all I got for ya is I don’t know. Maybe it’s all the preseason games and the lack of anyone trying at all out there on the field that made me say it. So now I’m going into the season thinking a cautious 10-6 or 11-5. It could be homerism. Again I don’t know. The Jets game should give me a better idea though, even though it is the Jets.

  27. MadMax Says:

    Yup! 🙂

Just heard Baker got cut 🙁
I know he whiffed on that tackle against Briscoe (he got juked and over committed, go back and watch it), but the kid has a nose for the football….oh well.

  28. Buc1987 Says:

So does Revis get booed or cheered when he comes out of the tunnel? I say he gets cheered.

  29. GRIF4FREESUX Says:

    @ splengo,not a tebow fan,but at least he plays with heart,unlike freebitch.Wouldn’t be much of a dropoff,if any,lol.

  30. SacBucs Says:

Ok where I live I just seen the replay.. You homers and season ticket holders ought to be ashamed. The opposing team fans should never out number us in our on staduim. Yall cant even hold it down!

The mothership was invaded. I dont care if it was a preseason game! Know it alls.

I seen Carimi get Reggie Whited by Merling. Carimi to soft to play guard. Hillis ran over a starter for the deadskins. We are gonna cut him like fools. Meredith can only play LT.

    DT rotations looks strong.

  31. GRIF4FREESUX Says:

@1987,Like I said,Josh Johnson was never given enough of a chance to prove himself and you want to throw up some stats from a handful of games he was thrown into, how is that any kind of counterpoint, duh, you need to polish up your comprehension skills and then come back and visit us.Why don’t you throw up some stats from the 5 year love affair you’ve had with michael jackson wannabe.

  32. SacBucs Says:

Picl up Michael Robinson from Seattle

  33. RBellBuc Says:

In all reality, you could say the Bucs are historically consistent, and this season should be no different than any other seasons for us fans. Every year I feel the same way as I do right now. I’m never sure what to expect at this time of year. I’ve been a Buc fan for a very long time and the franchise has been more of a roller coaster than Freeman ever has in his short career. We have been consistently bad for so long that even a team full of eight probowlers was countered by a poor preseason. Where I was excited about our chances four weeks ago I am now not so sure where we stand now. We have to be really good to just compete in our own division or be so so and end up at the bottom. I can’t definitively sit here and say I know for sure. I hope people don’t think that makes me less than a fan.

  34. Buc1987 Says:

GRIF4FREESUX …you mean the 3 and 1/2 yrs Josh has actually played?

  35. 911bucs Says:

    @Sac,
It’s because of all the transplants from colder climates. It’s typical in warmer climates that the home team gets outnumbered occasionally.

  36. BUCSLEGENDS Says:

GRIF, Dude you would come off a lot better if you weren’t such a hater… just sayin’ GO BUCS !!!!!!!

  37. Buc1987 Says:

“@1987,Like I said,Josh Johnson was never given enough of a chance to prove himself”

He’s been given plenty of chances to prove himself after being drafted in the 5th round. The Sacramento Mountain Lions gave him a chance. So hey he did have his shot there. Did he even become the starter for them?

  38. Buc1987 Says:

BucsLegends…see Grif here thinks Josh Johnson is better than Freeman. Just to get you updated.

  39. Adam L. Says:

If you’re Matt Simms, you have to be thinking, “What do I have to do to get some playing time around here?”

  40. Buc1987 Says:

@911bucs…that and the fact that is was the 4th game full of 3rd stringers. I was there and there was practically no season ticket holders in my section that were there in the 1st game. There was also a lot of people dressed in plain clothes, like they were just given the tickets from someone. I got up to take a piss in the 2nd quarter and there was tons of fans just hanging around chatting not even watching the game. Kind of like they just came to the game for something to do. I’d say about 60% of the people there were dressed in plain clothes.

  41. Buc1987 Says:

LOL no kidding Adam..the dude was playing lights out during preseason.

  42. lightningbuc Says:

Who’d want Tebow? He stinks. He’s only won ONE playoff game as a starter in 3 NFL seasons.

  43. RBellBuc Says:

^^^ had he started that whole season they may not have had the chance to make the playoffs at the end, like he did.

  44. Buc1987 Says:

RBellBuc….and people always forget the fact that Denver had a great D that year that kept the team in games so Tebow could look like the hero at the end of the game. Once again of course SOME people think the QB is the one person that makes the difference between winning and losing. That includes Buc fans who witnessed one of the greatest defensive teams in NFL history.

Booed. We are talking about Jets fans here. The same ones that boo every pick in the draft no matter who it is.

  46. Buc1987 Says:

    yup true ^^^
