Notes From Final 2013 Training Camp Practice

August 12th, 2013

Bucs training camp for 2013 is over. Here’s what Joe witnessed in a rather nondescript, pads-free practice.

* Steamy day for practice.

* Has Joe Twittered before how accurate Josh Freeman has been the past week or so?

* JF5 is having another Brees-like practice. Sick accuracy. Won’t be redundant this morning on that subject.

* VJax on a bomb, catches over-the-shoulder pass for TD down right sideline.

* Darrelle Revis now participating in red-zone practice. Live, not walkthroughs. Granted, Bucs are not in pads today.

* After a beautiful JF5 pass in a two-minute drill, Schiano got all fired up and ran with the offense down the field.

* (Promised not to be redundant.)

* Fake crowd noise!

* Bucs moving ball like clockwork.

* Pressure on JF5, WRs covered, JF5 throws ball away sailing it way up into the bleachers as kids scramble for cover, then scramble to retrieve the ball.

* Jonathan Casillas picks Mike Glennon over the middle.

* And with that, Bucs training camp 2013 has concluded. Thank you this time for your time so until next time, so long from the practice fields and temporary bleachers of One Buc Palace.

    Hey Joe how accurate was Freeman in practice today?

  2. Biff Barker Says:

    A QB should look sharp in underwear practice Joe.

  3. Buc1987 Says:

    Yes Joe, they still don’t get it. Do they?

  4. gulfcoast Says:

    Joe, thanks for the coverage.

  5. Meh Says:

    Thanks, Joe. I appreciated these notes.

  6. Ian_620WDAE Says:

    I’d rather our QB’s light it up in practice vs struggling in practice but since there is a Freeman witch hunt, guess that aint good enough unless your name is Glennon 😉

  7. Buc1987 Says:

    LOL @ Ian

  8. LUVMYBUCS Says:

    @JoeBucsFan

    As always –you give us passionate BUCS fans all the in depth play by play.

    And I for one appreciate that. Thank you @JoeBucsFan for all your great work.

  9. You Go Joe Says:

    There’s still Glennon fans after the 1st pre-season and supposed low expectations by our coaches?? I like the kids pocket presence, but there is no other skills that ranks his higher than Freeman. The kid over threw Owusu and other players, did not pick up on the blitz (if he did then he didn’t make the right call to just dump the ball off quickly). Glennon played like a rookie and stayed like it. He will improve in time, but for the moment we would not lean on him for any wins this season.

  10. Eric Says:

    Anybody can hit it down the middle at the driving range. Let’s see how he does on the first tee in New York.

  11. Buc'n Junkie Says:

    @JoeBucsFan

    Thanks guys for bringing us all the news and interviews during all the open practices. I really appreciated it. 🙂

  12. Free's A Boob Says:

    How you can place The Moron in the same sentence with Brees or any other real quarterback amazed me.

  13. Biff Barker Says:

    Ian, I guess when you are going in to your 5th season with your future here in question, it’s a witch hunt now?
    The fans didn’t withhold his contract extension or draft Glennon.

  14. BFFL Says:

    I hated the Glennon pick at the time but definitely saw good potential in him against the crows. He seems to play with good decisiveness and gets the ball out on time. I feel good that this guy can be a starter next year if Free plays poorly. With that said, I’m going all in on Free this year. He will finish in top 5 statistically.

  15. Buc1987 Says:

    Oh good lord with all this Glennon talk. It really is silly season.

  16. Couch Fan Says:

    You should educate em Buc1987 since your so informed and your usually always right. Us informed bunch could use some of your almighty knowledge.

  17. Couch Fan Says:

    Us uniformed bunch

  18. Raphael Says:

    @ free’s a boob …you should change your S/n to your a moron .

  19. Jonny 2.3 Says:

    Despite me turning into Freeboi critic, it is so good to read that Freeboi is displaying good accuracy during practices. Still, I will have to wait until I see it in full games before getting really happy. As of now I am sort of peeking into the Pro-Freeman bandwagon that I originally constructed as soon as he was drafted by Bucs.

  20. SacBucs Says:

    Joe I appreciate all the coverage, you have the best insight on the bucs period.

    I promised I would never bash another player again since I know first hand its easier said then done.

    I have another promise. I promise not to engage with your immature posters. Oklahoma drills with anyone of you! I played in my game no broke legs bitch boys. They made me corner now cause im lock down girls.

    We played the runner ups to the champs they crushed us but they spoke highly of my eceptional skills at cb. They didnt complete one pass on my side and we got to picks in the red zone. After I made a game time job change to the coacoach and told him im a better cornerback then a safety.

    Talk smack but my team has been 2gether for 2mths these other teams have done this for years.

    Now say something cowarldy know it alls!

  21. Raphael Says:

    Sry Jonny 2.3. The bus is full….no fair weather fans allowed

  22. Raphael Says:

    @ sacbuc ….blah blah blah

  23. SacBucs Says:

    2 picks…..thats for gramma police….rrrrrrr

  24. Buc1987 Says:

    SacBucs thanks for telling us all about your team. Anymore tidbits you’d like to share with us about your team. Like how many yards your RB ran for or something?

    Couch Fan…I’m bored with you.

  25. Couch Fan Says:

    lol of course you are, its must be real boring being right all the time.

  26. WestCoastBucsFan Says:

    @Free’s a boob

    I didn’t know there was still openly racist people. Is there some village of your people somewhere?

    Can’t wait for the speculation to end and the season to start.

  27. RustyRhino Says:

    Thanks Joe! Great discription, of training camp once again. Lucky hardworking dog you.
    I expect Freeman to bring it this season, I have my hopes up. The same Offense two seasons and two training camps, OTA’ s, in a row. It is his 5 season in the NFL, he has the skills to be successful in the league. I am cheering for you.

    If we need to go to Gleason, for whatever reason. I feel we still can play well. I hope so. We should have a good running game this season, we have a good stable full of good-hands, fast hardworking RB’s. This will help all of our QB’s this season.

  28. Buc1987 Says:

    @RustyRhino…is that Jackie Gleason or Mike Glennon?

  29. Bobby Says:

    Oh oh…..there’s SacBucs…’da cadillac a cohner backs’ ‘make a wide receivah a believah’ ‘shut ya down an knock ya to da growen’ ‘all ya bitch boys gonna……hol on a sec…you say large coke or large shake with dat??

  30. scubog Says:

    Finally a post worth reading Thanks Bobby. Seems that each thread of comments starts out relatively credible but it quickly digresses when the same worn out remarks, chest thumping and name-calling begin. A QB’s accuracy is noted in the article, which should please every “fan”, yet the bias still is regurgitated. Maybe I’m just old school in wanting to see improvement in the players regardless of who is exhibiting it.
