Haha I called into 98.7 and talked to this guy! Very solid points. Like the knowledge of depth he has in this draft for corners. What stuck out to me is who is gonna cover Julio jones, roddy white, marques Colton, Steve smith that’s just the in house division WRs were about to face twice a year… Lets not count Percy harvins (Seahawks) calvin Johnson (lions) Crabtree (49ers) all top WRs the bucs are gonna have to matchup against. And in my opinion no rookie corner is gonna be able to handle the duties of containing these monstors. Doesn’t sound like Justin believes it either… Sure smells like revis will be suiting up with the bucs next year. 1 and a 2 in 2014… Grab revis. Just read a report wright met with Greg and mark and sure sounds like he is staying and willing to take a pay cut. So with revis and wright that lets the bucs go a different route with 13. Who knows, move back or up gather some picks seeing there shipping some away. I really would like to see them snag Sheldon Richardson and team him with McCoy for the future and really complete the d line. Or if sharrif Floyd falls past 7 and move up and snag him… New power house in the NFC south I’m
    Smellin.

  2. Macabee Says:

Eric Wright back in good graces at One Buc. Restructure assumed to follow. Seen hugging Schiano, rumored to have kissed Dominik, didn’t say where! lol

  3. @MikeInTampa2 Says:

Robert Alford & B.W. Webb are NOT “Big Corners” (they are very SMALL). And David Amerson is a converted Safety with poor hips….Zone only

  4. BuccaneerBonzai Says:

    Joe,

Any word on the meeting between Wright and the Bucs today?

  5. Buc Fan #238 Says:

Here is to Eric Wright staying in Tampa… just so I can hear (you know who) whine.

Oh, and Myron Lewis is a BEAST!

  6. Joe Says:

@BuccaneerBonzai – Joe was not invited to the meeting. … No, there’s no word, and don’t expect any. They’re probably talking about timing of restructuring his contract and feeling out his commitment level.

  7. Dylan Says:

Haha @joe needs to download the rotoworld app they got some insight apparently. Where I get my word from fastest period. Any team.

Nothing that Joe hasn’t implied for weeks now.

  9. RastaMon Says:

Applause ! Justin…..obviously all the hard work has paid off….smoother delivery than…SNL’s “The Ladies Man “Leon Phelps

  10. stevek Says:

    Buc Fan 238,

LOL, Yay Wright! Hooray Mediocrity! Yay last place in the division! Woo-phucking-hoo!!!!

Is there a super bowl this year?

Is it possible to play in more than 16 games per a year?

Myron Lewis is the second coming of (insert poop CB’s name here)!

  11. Lev Says:

I may sound crazy here but maybe our secondary problems were more because of scheme than personnel…. AS SAID BY RONDE BARBER!!! I hope we don’t use the 13th pick on a corner! Get them in the mid rounds

  12. SeanyMac in SC Says:

Joe, please update the video intro and remove “Smiling Rah”. Its like nails on the chalk board every time I see him now.

  13. kh Says:

jesus who needs rival fans when we have stevek.

You should seriously do yourself a favor and support the Fins bro.

  14. stevek Says:

    kh,

Do you EXPECT PLAYOFFS in 2013 for the Bucs?

  15. kh Says:

Sure why not, its called being a fan.

You act like we went 0-16 last year and the roster is set in stone. We were a game or two away (if not a play or two) last year with a pathetic defense and we will improve between now and training camp with the draft and Revis and probably a few more low-key additions to the team.

  16. kh Says:

but go ahead and continue to be a miserable downer on every post if you like i suppose. Don’t know why you even bother being a fan though.

  17. Santos Says:

Some of you fans are pathetic, do you really think you know more than our gm? Take the worst GM in the history of the nfl….that guy has forgot more football than most of you dumb fans will ever know, sheesh you give bucnation a bad rep.

  18. Bucs Fan #238 Says:

steveKay knows more than the Bucs GM… just listen to him… he most likely is Bruce Allen from the Redskins.

  19. @MikeInTampa2 Says:

@Santos….I guarantee…I could draft better than Matt Millen & BruceAllen/JohnGruden

  20. Bucs Fan #238 Says:

(KFFL) Tampa Bay Buccaneers CB Eric Wright
did not agree to a restructured deal. His situation is still in flux.1 hour

  21. @eric Says:

Resign and restructure Bucs need him now that all the corners out there are signing elsewhere, Namdi just sign with the 49ers.

  22. Brandon Says:

Webb and Alford are well under 6′ tall, roughly the same height as Tyrann Mathieu. Pawlaski stated Tyrann was too small at the same height and 175… he measured in officially at the combine at 186, and he stated Julio Jones was 6’5 even though he officially measured in at 6’2 3/4…. What’s the difference between being a liar and just being factual inaccurate? One person can’t be trusted, the other person’s facts can’t be trusted. Either way, the source is unreliable.

Don’t forget Al Davis and Vinny Cerrato… seriously. Owners often hire guys they trust or make hires that have the gift of gab and talk their ways into jobs. There are many people that take scouting extremely seriously and would do better jobs than many of the league’s former GMs. Check out draftcountdown.com, the forums over there are loaded with guys that study the draft and prospects non-stop.

  24. Nate Says:

Everything that justin guy said is right on! we need both of those corners and a stud DT in the draft if we can bring in myabe a another linebacker to we would be very set!

  25. Keith Says:

I’d feel better if Justin was our GM

  26. CC Says:

Nnamdi Asomugha is good enough for Niners? I thought he sucked? Why are last years playoff teams adding FA corners? Hmm.

  27. lurker Says:

    via rotoworld:

Bucs CB Eric Wright met with coach Greg Schiano and GM Mark Dominik Tuesday, and “appears likely” to agree to a restructured contract.
Wright was considered as good as gone for most of the offseason, but the tide has begun to turn. It’s apparent neither side likes what it sees on the open market. Even if Wright was forced to play for less than half of his currently scheduled $7.75 million salary, that’s more than he’d get in free agency. An official resolution could come before the end of the week.

of course many of us were hoping, if he stayed, it would be for less

  28. Stevek Says:

    KH and 238,

I am just real about our situation: 27 million in cap space, no playoffs for a 1/2 decade, the worst pass defense in the league (narrowly missed ever in 2012).

I am a die hard Buc fan, and want nothing but the best for our team. Winning championships is as much on the players as it is the owners. “Great” owners win championships. We had great owners in 2002, but the Raheem era and”build thru the draft” movement have given us a 24-40 record under the 4th Hanson brother.
