“You Finally Realize The Business Side”

March 23rd, 2013

For those missing old friend/2012 run stuffer Roy Miller, the Jaguars cranked out a live chat with him on their official website.

There were interesting nuggets:

First, Miller would choose Nicki Minaj over Mariah Carey. (Good, that leaves Joe’s pick available). Also, Miller named Gerald McCoy as the top NFL player he’s been exposed to. Miller cited McCoy’s attitude and leadership. And Miller shared that he wasn’t fond his free agency experience, calling it “nerve-wracking,” and he seemed sad about his departure from the Bucs.

“You are with a team and you finally realize the business side of all,” Miller wrote.

Miller also raved about former Bucs defensive line coach Todd Wash, who, after screwing up in Tampa a successful stint in Seattle, will now coach Miller in Jacksonville.

Miller is an awesome young man an i am erg saddened he’s not a Buc anymore. He actually had a direct convo with me on twitter he’s that kind of guy that isn’t so arrogant to directly engage his fans.

  2. PRBucFan Says:

Erg? Lol that was supposed to say deeply

  3. milos81 Says:

Miller is a great guy and he played his heart out. Sad to see him go; glad to see some team picked him up. Godspeed, Roy.

  4. raphael Says:

    Roy will be missed…

  5. Jonny 3.3 Says:

    Trust, belief, accountability and family

    /signed

    Michael Bennett & Roy Miller

  6. Vic66 Says:

@jonnie 3.3 :: every time I see one of your posts, the first thing I see is your little figure to the right. On my IPhone, at first glance it looks like I’m being mooned. Thanks for a little laugh.

Oh ya thanks for your play Miller.

  7. Vic Says:

    Well played Jonny. 3.3

  8. Andrew 1 Says:

I think losing Roy Miller is a bigger blow than losing Bennett. O well just got to find a better replacement. I would bet anything we draft a DT with our first pick.

  9. Joc Says:

We could have had him below Market if we had a gm who could read the tea
Leaves. Solid pro great teamate stupid to let him go.

  10. Andrew 1 Says:

    @ Joc

the bucs organization obviously felt like they could do better than Roy Miller. one things for sure though they damn well better prove it because if we are worse at that position next season they will look like a bunch of fools.

  11. Bobby Says:

Stupid to let him go…..yeah….that’s what I heard about Winslow too. And TJax….andTalib…..and…and….and… They know something we don’t. Probably injury history. It’s a business..period.

  12. ben Says:

None of you clowns even wanted him starting before the start of last season

  13. Red86 Says:

I wished we sign him as a backup and let Gibson go instead, but the organization believe they knows what is best.

I believe this guy can become a fan favorite. We sign him a while back name Clebert Richard. If he can play like this in the pros and consistently beat single blockers in passing down and occasionally beat double in passing situation. I would boldly say that our sack numbers are going to break the 30+ sacks milestone. McCoy, if healthy, will repeat as a pro bowler. Youtube the guy name and see why I said this. All vids I seen he was solid to very good at getting to the backfield whether it’s run or pass. This guy is a disrupter…period.

Still hope we pick DT in the First for better depth.

  14. Red86 Says:

    *Richard Clebert*

  15. Joc Says:

There is this little thing called depth.

  16. Andrew 1 Says:

Gary Gibson more than qualifies as depth. hes a vet that is cheap and knows the game. they were not going to pay someone like Miller more than Gibson just to add depth.

  17. Red86 Says:

There is a big difference in depth with ok guys, depth with mediocre guys, depth with horrible guys, and depth with studs. I believe Miller is better than Gibson. This team need to great depth with as many studs and above average guys as possible. Also, cut those that not contributing or not a threat to take starting jobs. Myron Lewis is a prefect example of this.

  18. Capt. Tim Says:

Andrew- Gibson didn’t come close to beating Miller out of the starting spot, but now somehow, he’s become better??

The only reason Gibson is on this team, is because he played at Rutgers. That .500 team, and NFL hotbed of talent!! There’s Ray Rice, 3/4 of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and, um, maybe a couple other guys

Still amazed at how many keep saying” the team knows what it’s doing”, and all the team does is lose, and cellar dwell.

  19. Capt. Tim Says:

All the players say publically that they are sad to leave. Yet they are leaving like rats off a sinking ship.

    Makes you wonder -why?

  20. FreemanBomb5 Says:

I agree with Captain Tim that we’re being run by an inept dictator “Toes On The Line” and below average GM which explains four out of five last place finishes over the last five years. If only we would’ve not used our picks during the “deepest draft in many many years” on Lewis, Price, Benn, Stocker, and that awesome punter Bowden.

  21. bucobruce Says:

BLAH,BLAH,I cant wait to hear from you haters when the Bucs go 11-5 and deep into the playoffs maybe even the Super Bowl.I know you think im crazy but just wait, because I dont want to look dumb.JUST WAIT.

  22. Cmurda Says:

    Capt. Tim,

How can it make you wonder why? Why? Because the Bucs didn’t want them. There’s probably a good reason why the Bucs didn’t want them back. Like Bobby said, there’s a long list of players that the fans were not happy about and went on to do absolutely nothing.

  23. Capt. Tim Says:

BuccoBruce- sorry, Bro. But, yeah. Yer nuts.

Starting DTs? Backups? Backup DEs? Starting CBs? Backups?
Starting Rt? Starting TE? 3rd Wr? Backup RBs? Backup Qb?

Playoff teams, SuperBowl teams, and teams that have been using rebuilding as an excuse for losing for years can all answer those questions.

Blind love for a GM who hasn’t produced a playoff team yet, is not smart money. Especially when a blind man can see that layers are leaving here- and new players aren’t rushing to be here!!

Bucco- what is the Bucs record since Dom took over?

Still wanna keep proclaiming us Superbowl champions??

    I wouldn’t.

  24. mcBuc Says:

I liked capt tim better when he was not so negative.

  25. Capt. Tim Says:

I liked the Bucs better when they actually won football games.

We are going backwards this offseason- hard!

And we still haven’t signed a CB yet?? Really? After last season??
We need 4 new ones. All the good young ones have already signed, while we get jerked around in New York.

    That’s how you keep losing.

As I’ve said before, the Bucs aren’t a religion. They aren’t a country.
They are a product. An entertainment product that makes hundreds of millions of Dollars in profit. They slap our immunity name on their backs- say they represent us, then feel that justifies them to charge you $25 bucks to park, $10 a Beer, $8 a hot dog, and then black out games if we don’t fill the stadium!! Even if the team sucks! That on top of the Tax dollars they take from us!

Listen, if they wanna slap “Tampa Bay” on their back, then use that to claim all those perks- then they OWE it to us to try and put the best production the field! If not, we should raise hell! They aren’t doing us any favors!

If you went to your local movie theatre, paid their prices- and all they played was low budget, B grade movies- you’d quit going, and raise hell

Right now, the Bucs have been a B grade football team for years

And they are charging A grade prices

  26. Northend Says:

They have a plan and it is to draft Sheldon Richardson in the first.Kid is fast aggresive and plays the double team like a champ. It is such a deep cb draft we can get starters into the 4-5 round.Revis, rookie like banks and Amerson .We will b fine.

  27. jlynch Says:

wasnt miller hobled by back injury?? nobody thought much of him when he got bigger for bates defense… too bad Freeman didnt ply for Rutgers.

  28. PRBucFan Says:

I completely disagree with you Tim.
Our ship is not sinking. Not with this roster.
I’m hopeful for a better season, one that sees the playoffs.

  29. SilenceTheCritics Says:

I love how everyone uses the excuse that the Defense is to blame for Freeman’s struggles, then turn around and want to keep the same average playes that helped us to that horrible defense… amazingly stupid. Some of you just bitch to bitch.
