“Is This Acceptable?”

November 12th, 2012

The loss to the Bucs really got under the skin of Chargers coach Norv Turner. It didn’t help when he was asked if losing to the Bucs is acceptable in this San Diego Union-Tribune video.

Journalists have “bad days at the office” as well. They’re going to throw out the wrong questions or poorly worded questions.

Feel Norv’s pain, though. Hope he can start winning now that they’re no longer on the Bucs’ schedule.

    Did he ‘crown our ass’?

  3. Pewter_Power Says:

In all fairness to Bitch that was a pretty dumb question. The NFL is a high pressure business where winning and losing determines who has a job and who doesn’t, so of course a loss is never going to be acceptable.

  4. Pewter_Power Says:

*Norv wow, thanks for that one auto correct.

  5. Miguel El Magnifico Says:

Funny how smart Norv is as an offensive coordinator, he’s just not a great head coach. His clock management at the end of the 1st half was incredible.

The punt block and pick 6 was something the Chargers simply could not overcome.

  6. Pete 422 Says:

They fire Marty Schottenheimer who wen 14-2 & then hire Norv Turner? This guy is an average at best head coach. His teams can never do very well, but are competitive at times (just enough to drive their fans crazy).

  7. Adam Says:

That was one of the dumbest questions I’ve ever heard. Is a loss acceptable? WTH? Did the dope with the pen expect Norv to say, “Actually, yes. Quite acceptable. I was happy with the bonehead interceptions and the lack of a running game. It was exactly what we worked on in practice.”

  8. Have A Nice Day Says:

    That question broke Mr. Turner’s brain. 0:07 – 0:12

  9. Pete 422 Says:

Agreed Adam. What a dumbass question.

  10. kh Says:

A little bit of context to the press conf explains the question. Norv made a handful of comments back-to-back-to-back about the positives he was taking away from the loss and the reported followed-up all the positives with a question of whether it was acceptable to lose then.

How this guy has been given 3 head coaching gigs in the NFL and had numerous chances in San Diego blows my mind…

  12. Dano Says:

Media asks some really stupid questions sometimes & act surprised when
    someone reacts like Turner did.

  13. Joe Dunn Says:

There really are a lot of writers that can NOT ask an intelligent question…..they must feel since are being paid to be there they MUST TALK???? I wish Norm would have said “Dumb question, bitch. NEXT!!”
