McNabb Fingers Barber As Weak Link

October 20th, 2012

Oh, the irony. Donovan McNabb of all people is spewing on NFL Network that Ronde Barber is the weak link in the Bucs secondary. Here’s the video.

McNabb breaks out game film and spits out a stat that says Barber has been targeted 18 times this season by opposing offenses and has been beaten 12-of-18 times for two touchdowns.

“Attack the old guy and you’ll be successful,” McNabb said of what the Saints need to do.

Something to watch for tomorrow. And somewhere the ultra-competitive Barber is seething.

wow still some hate from the man with no ring. hahahahahaha. i love barber.

  2. Jbrooks8604 Says:

He’s just mad because he’s thrown more td’s to Barber than any receiver he’s played with.

D Mac, bury the hatchet and move on.

  3. Papawill13 Says:

Why does anyone CARE what the most overrated football player in the HISTORY of the game has to say?

  4. Have A Nice Day Says:

Barber is playing middle of the pack;. If Barber’s play is our weakest link, we are in great shape.

  5. BucSnob Says:

Now this is hilarious!!! Is it because Barber can still play and no one wants McNabb? Maybe, but it is definitely that return TD in the NFC championship game. Oh yes McNabb has nightmares about Barber nightly! Believe it! Barber=hall of famer. McNabb=Hall of the irrelevant

  6. bucsfan1979 Says:

McNabb cry me a river DUDE. Ronde has eaten you up and spitted you out how many times???? Go BUCS!!!!!!!

  7. SteveK Says:

    Hey McNabb,

You bitter? All those NFC Championship games, and one Super Bowl appearance with zero rings. You were too busy puking your yellow coward guys out to enjoy the 4th quarter. Hell, even T.O. came back for a performance worth winning. You suck, you can’t even grow the ball 10 yards. You are not a winner.

In conclusion, Kirk Herbsteet and Ohio State beat your ass at Syracuse. Gimme a break, you are Less of a post season presence than Alex Rodriguez.

  8. Ian's Gay Lisp Says:

I can see why Philly Fans couldn’t stand him (just from his crappy personality alone). Looks like he’s been mainlining CheeseSteaks & washing it all down with Chunky Soup

  9. Jwayne Says:

Wow, your as good at analysing football as you are playing it! Here’s a fun stat for you Donovan…people still play in the league after 30!But the trick is to be good at it! And you wonder why your unemployed! Jealousy looks as good on you as them cheese steaks do!

  10. bigbepeterbuilt Says:

Mcnabb wasn’t that good anyways. Barber is freckin awesome, and has a ring. Ooh yeah.

  11. Jdog Says:

oooh, and who’s still playing and who’s ran out of the league?

  12. Oahubuc Says:

    He mad.

  13. TPCMatt Says:

Lmao, ur picture says it all, Joe. I just found a new wallpaper. Ty sir.

  14. Gaba Says:

Ronde owns mcfloss !! 2002 world champs BABY!!!!!!

  15. Jonny 3.3 Says:

Barber makes a good amount of splash plays, but has usually been subpar when he does not make those plays. Cant deny what McNabb is saying.

  16. Oahubuc Says:

I never cared so little what a person thinks about a subject.

  17. 1/75_Ranger Says:

Johnny 3.3 ? = Thomas 2.2? If not, are you related? The secondary has not been consistent, not Barber. Why are you and McNabb the only ones to point that out now? I would pick on Biggers and Lewis. Lets watch the game on local TV and find out! “Cant Wait”!!!!!

  18. kh Says:

Have some friends that frequent the late night scene and they used to tell me about Josh being out fairly regularly but that was a few years ago, haven’t heard anything like that recently.

  19. kh Says:

    oops, wrong story…

  20. Buccsfan76 Says:

McNabb is just pissed thet he threw more TDs to Ronde than his own recievers.

  21. ladyz Says:

McNabb is a jealous broken down has been that never was worth a hill of beans. Some might point to his soup commercials but that was carried of by his mother. That’s right, still a mommas boy. Do us all a favor and just shut your big mouth. Ya Ronde, Go Bucs!

  22. HecticBuc Says:

lmao of all people he wishes he was still playing the game thats why he is hating on Ronde. I live in PA this guy is hated by his teams fans for a reason and he did so much from them and they still have no love for him. Maybe another reason why this attack on ronde is coming from MC GARBAGE is jealousy Ronde is loved and adored by all bucs fans and respected by all other teams players and fans. We will see the bucs destroy the saints in all phases of the game Drew Sneeze will get his td but only one and a 3 ints. Gotta a feeling the old man got a couple more pick 6ss in him to be the GOAT and he is getting 1 tomorrow. GO BUCS FIRE THOSE CANNONS !!!

  23. CHris Says:

Remember when Ronde intercepted McNabb and sent the Bucs to the Superbowl ?

  24. Icculus Says:

As much of an honor it has been to watch Ronde….He’s right…Ronde is better in the nickel. i would rather see the tandem future growing along side stud Barron.

  25. Jonny 3.3 Says:

@1/75 Ranger: Pardon me for not being among the sheeple. Yes the whole secondary has been playing bad and Barber is part of the problem. Barber’s shortcomings were clearly exposed against the only two quality QBs we faced thus far. Also against the Redskins, one of the major offenders in the secondary to miss several tackles was Barber.

Just because Barber is a Buc legend and still has a knack for making splash plays, it does not mean we have to just disregard all the bad that comes with his old age. It is great seeing him out there starting for so long (222nd game I believe). But in FA or draft next year, we could use a major upgrade at FS.

  26. Brandon Says:

Let’s be honest though here. If Ronde could’ve played more games against McNabb, like if McNabb was QBing a team in our division, just imagine the possibilities.

    1) First time ever, a CB leads the league in scoring.
    2) 20 INTs is considered fairly high by a QB, but the exact amount Ronde would have in a season
    3) At halftime of the 2nd division game of the season against McNabb’s team, Ronde would emerge from the lockerroom to make his Hall-of-Fame induction speech.

I agree that Barber hasn’t played well consistently for us this season. He has flashed and he has given up plays. Hopefully, he continues improving and continues to make McNabb look stupid.

  27. Brad Says:

Watching the NFL network and its growing host list.., many I could do without, but its clear that Mcnab is their weakest link and sucks at being an analyst. Time for another career choice Mcnabb. If the Network is smart that can your arse soon.

  28. Paul Says:

“Attack the old guy and you’ll be successful” That didn’t work too good for McNabb last time.

  29. mpmalloy Says:

    Jeez.

Mcnabb must really hate Barber for stealing one of
his few chances at a ring.
The good thing is that Barber did get a ring.

    Mcnabb mad brah.

    Oh, he mad.

  30. Mavsmoney Says:

    @$&# you McNabb!

  31. Pete 422 Says:

Ironic indeed! He would be better served heeding a warning to Brees.

  32. SensibleBuc Says:

I’ve been saying this all year.

No need to get offended and throw jabs at McNabb guys. If you watch him play, Ronde is a step slow and we have to hide him in the secondary in coverage. In run defense he’s just as leaky. He’s still great in the hook/curl zone and the blitz game but in every other aspect he’s been suspect.

Look, Ronde is a HOF’er but nobody in this organization is above reproach.

  33. Dave Says:

I saw some of that and he seems to forget that Ronde is playing alot of safety and gives up the underneath stuff

  34. jlynch Says:

Mc Nabb is a puke !! Also thats my fondest memory of him right behind Barber going to the end zone ,, Hey Donovan can you say pick six??

  35. Give it to Blount Says:

LOL this coming from a guy who CANT play anymore in the NFL at a high caliber, talking about a guy who IS playing H.O.F. caliber Football still and most likely has another 3 years left in the tank if he so chooses.
    SMH

  36. BucSnob Says:

Hey McNabb, that was a another INT by the old man Barber in the Saints game just adding to his legacy!!!

  37. Adam Says:

Last time I saw a mouth like McNabb’s it had a hook in it.
