One Week From A Blackout, $30 Seats Available

September 20th, 2012

As this post hits the Internet, the Bucs are exactly seven days from calling a television blackout for the Sept. 30 home game against the Redskins.

Raheem Morris returns with Washington. Dezmon Briscoe comes back with his baby-mama drama, and RGIII will run around the chewed up turf from the USF-FSU game the day before. The weather should be tolerable with a 4:25 p.m. start, and the New Schiano Order will deliver its second performance for the home fans.

Joe’s not telling anyone how to spend their money, but if you’re going to drop $50 on stupid stuff this weekend, think first about buying a ticket and helping get the game on the tube.

There are plenty of $30 tickets (including fees) available now on Ticketmaster.com.

We could be 3-0 and the game still won’t sell out.

    Joe here,

    Point taken, raphael and RastaMon,

    1) You can always scroll down and shut off an auto-play video ad.
    2) Joe’s experimenting with a new national ad provider and appreciates the feedback. Right now, Joe has no control over these ads individually.
    3) Joe appreciates your patronage while Joe evalutes the situation.
    4) This should not happen on all or even most of your visits.

Boy, I complained along with others in the past and all we heard was the second part of #2. I blocked the add sites from displaying on my computers so all I see is the Site Blocked message.

Good to know you are doing something about though, Joe. Any chance to set my posts so the spam filter doesn’t get me too?

    😉

  6. raphael Says:

    thanks joe

  7. Kryq Says:

Buccs sign WR Chris Owusu, Sammie Stroughter likely to go on IR.

  8. bucobruce Says:

Please sell out agaist the skins. Thanks Joe for the update.

JOE can you please keep us up to date on ticket situation.

JOE also my freind from north carolina is flying down for the weekend of the chargers game and he is buying me a ticket if I drive to and from the game sober. How do you think ticket sells will be for that game.I hate the fact that most people have to pick which game they go to by whether or not its on tv or not,we should be able to pick what team we want the bucs to beat not which one is going to be blacked out. Thanks!

Bucobruce… pay the 35 bucks for NFL game rewind… worth every penny.

  10. Pete 422 Says:

The signing of Chris Owusu is interesting given he is a speed receiver. Looks like the Bucs are planning to eventually stretch the field in conjunction with their pound the rock style running game.

I think the best way to fill the stadium would be for the Glazers to donate the tickets to poor, young people and let advertising the whole give away pay for a portion of the ticket price.

Make an event of the ordeal at One Buc, bring in vendors and have them pay a small lease fee and use all of that to pay for another portion of the tickets.

Or own the booths themselves, pay people who work the booths with tickets… have all sorts of ways to get tickets at the Buc fair. Make it a complete family event. Get the community fully engaged. Over time the demand will return. But with blackouts and empty seats, fan apathy can set in pretty hard.

thanks for the information joe (in regards to the ads)…i actually stopped visiting this site for a while because the ads would play by itself and i would have to search which one was on to turn it off and when i turned that off another turned on etc etc…i was like wth?! i gave up and turned my volume down but its IS very annoying and I couldn’t with rasta and raphael more. now if you had video footage of the hooter girls that would be a different story!

  13. st augustine Says:

    *it *couldn’t agree

  14. buc the saints Says:

Joe your slowing down my 5 year old laptop with all the ads. Not joking. Love the articles but the ads are killin me. I know you need to make a living but damn. Keep the hooters ads though.

  15. Lion Says:

    .

If they didn’t do it for the home opener and Ronde celebration, they won’t be doing it at all this season. We CAN NOT rely on that hope in the slightest this year.

But, in all fairness, the Glazers have gone above and beyond to make it easier on us to get tickets.

If I see the numbers dip to 4,000 remaining, I will buy a ticket even though I can’t go…just to do my part.

btw…I think RGIII might be the real thing. In contrast, I think NEwton is a total fraud.
