Kellen Winslow Is Homeless

This is hardly Bucs news, but interesting nonetheless. Adam Schefter of BSPN is reporting that Kellen Winslow was cut by the Seattle Seahawks.
Winslow’s jettisoning reminds Joe of the Three Little Bears. In 2012, Winslow’s porridge with Greg Schiano was too hot. Pete Carroll’s porridge clearly was too soft. Maybe things will be just right for Winslow on his next team.
For now, Winslow will have plenty of time to spin records and moan about OTAs.

he’ll catch on some where and ruin another QB. dont see the Redskins takin a chance on him with a rookie QB plus they have Fred Davis who could have a beast of a season. Miami seems likely since he love to spin records and party plus they could use him being that their so disfunctional right now. oh well like Tanard Jackson its not our problem. I always used to respect Winslow Jr’s passion for the game, but now I think it was more passion for his own ego. Acting the fool after the Bucs traded him said a lot.
I wonder if he and Freeman still talk? Or if it’s like that former co-worker you used to be close with but once they were fired you forgot quickly and functioned better?

Probably means the Bucs won’t be re-locating to Mobile, AL after all.

I’ve been trying to uncover the details of the conditional trade of Winslow to Seattle.
Tampa Bay received a conditional 2013 draft pick in the deal, which a source told ESPN.com’s Mike Sando is a seventh-rounder that can elevate to sixth-round choice.
I’ve not been able to get anything in writing on the conditions. However, if the terms were conditioned on making the 53-man roster as they typically are, then technically the Bucs got a 6 round pick out of the deal.
Winslow made the 53-man roster albeit for one day. I don’t know if there is any fine print that would change the fact that conditions appear to have been met!

It’s a changing of the guard, the old loud mouth veterans are all fading away. The culture in the NFL is going through a metamorphosis. Management and Coaching staffs are no longer tolerating the antics of these self important players. I.E Jones’s ultimatum with Dez Bryant, the release of Ochocinco, Burress sitting at home, and say goodbye to Owens probably for good. Now Winslow. They upset the cohesion that coaches build for players to work as a team. They think they are the only stars on the field. These type of players are the true definition of the clinical term Narcissism.

I think a touch of arrogance can be found in most great players.. It’s what fuels their belief to be better and the nfl wouldn’t be what it is if every player was to keep quiet. Look at the likes of warren sapp and even to a degree cam Newton last year.
But… They also should know when to shut up when their production declines and they then become a distraction to the rest of the team, eg Winslow, ochocinco and Owens.
Always a fine balance I guess and good coaches and gm know when to pick and cut these players. Sometimes it works out and sometimes it doesn’t. Every year we celebrate our draft picks thinking they are great at the time and then we are the first to slam the team when they go bust, eg marc sanchez.. In the end it’s all a guessing game more hit and miss really when you run an nfl team.. Just my opinion.

Ironic it is that we are quick to trash, I did say we…. ahem, the staff when they got busy cutting/trying to find the “best” Buc players.
I don’t care if Schiano is bullying Dom, no BTW, or if the evil Butch Davis is really Dick Cheney’s illigetimate daughter hiding in drag, can we please give these guys a little slack?
As far as the players we really do know who were flown by catapult, none has measured up on any NFL roster.
We’ll be back, brick by brick, but it’s going to take a little time.

You might question whether we know how to sign a player but at least we know when to let them go.
Tanard suspended indefinitely. K2 now cut. Its looking like Brian Price may not make it far with the Bears. Ruud hasn’t done anything since he left. Antonia Bryant anyone?
At least we got somethin for Price.

Although what you said kind of holds true for some great players, it defines them in a selfish light. There are a lot of great players who didn’t boast about themselves in front of the cameras every chance they got. I.E. Walter Payton, Reggie White, Jerry Rice, Steve Largeant, Terrell Davis and on and on. These players will always be remembered in a good way. Let me demonstrate with one word associations.
I say Owens … you say?
I say Ochocinco … you say?
I say J.Rice … you say?
I say W.Payton … you say?
I think you get my point…:)

It’s worth noting how smart Schiano really is. When he accepted the position of Head Coach he was bombarded with questions on how he planned to change the culture and aura of the locker room differently from the last regime.
Well, he had a plan, a premeditated plan. He must have asked himself this question, How do I weed out the cancer without alienating myself from future Buccaneer Men?
We all know that people who are narcissists, have bad attitudes, and thuggish behavior don’t take to well to Authoritarians. They usually always rebel sooner or later.
That was Coach Schiano’s whole premise from the beginning. He came in like Sgt. Br@ssb@lls by design and it didn’t take long for certain players to lash out or over react. And it didn’t take long for Coach to drop their @sses either.
Just my perspective. I think he will lighten up when he has the players he refers to as Buccaneer Men. 🙂

You got to admit, if Dominik gets rid of you, your career is pretty much over. Have we got rid of one player that had any sort of contribution to another team. I guess you can say Matt Bryant, but kickers don’t count.
