Intrigue At One Buc Palace

September 1st, 2012

It seems as if Bucs rock star general manager Mark Dominik made a roster change with the Bucs in the middle of this morning’s practice, under the very eyes of the local Tampa Bay pen and mic club.

Woody Cummings of the Tampa Tribune was one of the witnesses.

@RCummingsTrib: Bucs OT Bradley Sowell and DT Wallace Gilberry left practice just after it started Sat. Looks like they have been cut and replaced

Cummings later wrote, judging by the numbers of the two new players who walked on the field and began practicing, they were an offensive lineman and a wide receiver. The Bucs have yet to identify both players.

What is interesting is that the Bucs are even still thinner at defensive tackle now that Gilberry is gone.

    My prediction: Carlton Mitchell

  2. Oahubuc Says:

Starting to get really, REALLY concerned about this DT situation.

  3. Charlie B Says:

Honestly, I’m surprised about Gilberry. He played well and was getting penetration Wednesday night. There were only 3 players that looked like they belonged in the NFL, Gilberry, Baker, and Underwood. And they were all cut. Guess this is why I’m not an NFL front office type.

  4. Nate Says:

the new defense is to just let them run up the middle and stop with a linebacker since the dts cant do anything anyways…

  5. ElioT Says:

Gilberry was no DT anyhow(270lbs) although I think he could have been a good rotational guy at DE.

Dom has got to have a plan for the D-line.

  6. NJBucsFan Says:

    Really hope Gibson goes….

  7. js1506 Says:

Why not take a look at dan koopen?

  8. RichBucsfan Says:

Could this be a power struggle between Dom and Schiano? Looks like Dom is trying to sabotage the season by not getting what the team needs. Schiano takes the fall for a horrible season. Dom seems to be rebelling against ‘toes on the line.’ He demands to be in charge, not work in partnership. Bucs ship is sunk before it even sails.

  9. Bobby Says:

    @RichBucsFan…..is that you Thomas??????

lol That was meant for RichBucsFan, Bobby.

I imagine a trade is in progress.

    @RichBucsfan

That has to be the stupidest conspiracy theory comment of all time on this site. And that’s saying something.

  13. ElioT Says:

I think it’s crazy how 5 months ago we were most concerned with the secondary and LBs and felt good about the O&D lines.

Now we have big concerns in the trenches and feel solid with the back seven!

God I love football, makes life so much more interesting!

    Go Bucs!!!

  14. Have A Nice Day Says:

@FLBoyInDalla – I don’t know…. The “Belichik told his offensive line not to block so Schiano could win” theory takes the cake in my book.

  15. OptimisTroll Says:

There will always be a worst part of the team. Hopefully, one day that will be …

  16. Capt. Jean Lafitte Says:

    @FLBoy

    I agree

We still have concerns with the secondary, LBs, and now the OL, QB, depth, DL. Add to that coaching and front office.

The Bucs Amen Chorus don’t really have much to hang their hats on. Wait until the injuries start adding up.

    Its a cruel business.

Why didnt we put Shipley on IR like the Pats did with Demps?

Why not stash away a rare talent like him, and let him rehab with us?

I dont like these moves at all!!

And I am aDom supporter. But not as much after Price, Hnderwood, Okoye, and the hypocrisy of keeping Gibson who hasnt playef at all!!

Reading some people’s comments truly scares me that there are actually people roaming the earth with nothing but air between their ears. Dominik is sabotaging the season???

  20. BigMacAttack Says:

Yeah, I sure hope they don’t vote, or drive.

  21. Bucnjim Says:

    Hawaiian,

The voice of reason! I’m glad we have some hard core fans with at least some common sense.

  22. BigMacAttack Says:

    Please stop honking, I’m texting

Is there a sign saying that is your lane? I’m texting over here

I know the light is green but I’m texting

I can only drive as fast as I can Unsafely text. You people are just going to have to wait until I’m through

I thought the left lane was the text lane. I’m not swerving, I’m cleaning my tires

  23. Hawaiian Buc Says:

I actually really want to know if he really meant that, or was he just blowing smoke.

what is unfortunate is that these people can have children without a license or intelligence test. need a license to drive a car, to have a dog, even to get married, but not to have offspring! idiocracy, anyone??!?

yes, miguel payasito, i mean you.

  25. Miguel Grande Says:

Ok Lurker, I’ll take that challenge. I have 3 children and thankfully one grandchild. All wonderful. As far as intelligence tests, I scored 138 IQ, which is way above average.

I have 4 dogs and I have been married for 29 years although my wife and I have been together for 39 years. I have been successful at everything I’ve ever done.

I am retired at 59 years old and enjoying it tremendously. I do have a driver’s license, if that really matters.

My opinions on football and life differ from your opinions, therefore you feel the need to attack me personally. While some people irrationally fear clowns, I don’t. I love clowns. So Miguel Payasito, is actually a compliment.

  26. Hawaiian Buc Says:

I guess we will just take your word for it on how wonderful your life is. All I know is that everyone that I’ve ever met that brags about how great their life is (and how much money they make) lives a miserable life (and is flat broke). I’m sure you are the exception. Must be the hemp and all the diseases you have cured.

  27. Miguel Grande Says:

A good Christian would just turn the other cheek, and put up with the bullying but I’m not a Christian.
