“I Love What I See”

September 19th, 2012

Earnest “Insurance” Graham checked in on the first two games of the New Schiano Order, and Graham didn’t mince words: “I love what I see,” Graham said on WDAE-AM 620 yesterday.

Graham went on to talk about LeGarrette Blount and Doug Martin, and about his beloved Gators and how the Giants winning the Super Bowl last season with a low-ranked running game has further devalued the running back position. Enjoy below.

  1. Facts Matter Says:

“Giants winning the Super Bowl last season with a low-ranked running game has further devalued the running back position”

    This is a false belief.
The Giants had a bad OL and two injured RBs so the run production suffered. They did not intentionally devalue the run game. The passing game was forced to pick up the slack.
The Giants GM and Coaches all pre-season in interview after interview all stated that improving the run game was a major concern.

Not doing something well doesn’t mean its devalued. The Giants would rather have a strong running game to have shorter 3rd downs… they compensated by making more long 3rd down passes than any other team.
But they struggle in the red zone – as shown in the Tampa game. Without the strong running game, shorter fields means its tougher to throw for the TD as play action gets bitten on less.
