So How Do You Feel?

December 18th, 2011

Our fans are our stockholders. They’re what we play for — the people in our stadium and the ones that watch on TV. That’s what it’s all about: winning and how they feel about the team. If they don’t feel good about the team, then there’s something wrong. . . I think you all know the sense that’s out there. It was time for a change.” — Bucs owner Bryan Glazer following the firing of Chucky in 2009.

Joe published this quote about 3 1/2 weeks ago when the seat under Raheem Morris was just getting toasty. Now, of course, his seat is hot enough to cause a second-degree burn.

When Joe thinks about how Team Glazer would/should proceed, Joe thinks about this quote, so Joe published it again today.

Glazer’s quote seemed important to revive, as last night’s pattycake effort against the Cowboys was the last straw on this regime for many fans Joe talks to. But Joe doesn’t talk to everyone, so here’s your chance to have your say after sleeping on last night’s game:

My vote is to fire him now.

I think they need to send a CLEAR message to the team that this BS will no longer be tolerated.

  2. justin Says:

born in tampa life long bucs fan if raheem comes back next year i will boycott them

  3. Tommy Boy Says:

    94% wow.

  4. Tj Says:

Does anybody remember when Mike Lombardi of the NFL network said that the bucs had bad practice habbits that carried over on gameday, that there is no competion at practice , and Raheem called him a clown ( Raheem I thought you are not mentaly weak well only mentaly weak people call others names learned that in high school ) Look at are linebackers who is there backup to challenge them hold on wait for it Adam hayward . Adam hayward could not start for another team in the NFL . How about at QB Josh Johnson could not start for another team. When I give my daughter something and she does not have to work for it she 99.9% of the time does not appreciate it , well that is what these young bucs have .Quincy black is paid , Talib is the coach’s BFF , Penn , Trueblood are paid no one will ever challange there spots with raheem being the coach . Look what Rex Ryan did with Sanchez he acted like he was going to bench him with a proven back up , then what happen Sanchez start playing his best football. Time to get some other people seat hot too other than Raheem who deserves it

  5. thibs5599 Says:

I like raheem and feel he could be a good coach, but his time is not now. He is young and has too much on his plate, nice try raheem thanks for a fun 10-6 season last year, but its time for you to go

  6. Eric Says:

    How do i feel?

Like i am on my way to the Doctors office to get a gigantic boil removed from my buttocks………….

No possible side effects, just relief.

  7. Mark Says:

The Glazerhouse boys need to look at that poll…….That 94.44 % just about says it all and the fans or should I say Stockholders have spoken.
Morris & Olson should be fired today, I know they don’t have anyone qualified to replace tham but what’s the worst that could happen?? We’ll lose the last 2 games…….We’re already going to do that and the change might light a fire under some of the players and show them that they are also fighting for jobs next year.

  8. thibs5599 Says:

We sure do need competition TJ, Nobody here is scared of losing their jobs so they don’t get fired up enough to compete. Everyone on that list should be challenged or at least have someone to learn from, besides Penn. Penn is good and a one of the top OT in the league, he is just having a rough few games but so would anyone else on a team like this. If you can even call it a team.

  9. sharkcoasttactical.com Says:

I’m almost at a loss for words. When the first game of this losing streak began, I made a comment about them not being able to win another game on JBF.com. Now it looks to become reality and it just sickens me. I think I was the only person I know in the area who thought bad acid could be the only explanation for Gruden being fired. Its simply amazing how far the organization has fallen and I just don’t know where the angle is for the dirtys. I think poor Raheem but then again he is pulling a paycheck for this piss poor performance. All of this doesn’t make sense unless they have just determined the revenue from TV is all they are after. Lets recap:Fire Gruden? Draft McCoy vs trading up for Suh? No free agents? Position Coach as head coach? Get rid of ALL the veterans? Play in England again? Let the Oline coach go? Greg fricken Olsen? The guy who got fired from the Lions and the Rams as OC? Piss poor effort at selling tickets? Allowing blackouts to occur at the rate they have for the last two years? Etc Etc.
Dont support this dung heap with your hard earned dollar. Stop buying gear, don’t reup your tickets, demand more, demand an explanation.

  10. Chiman Says:

As Raheem says, “Next Man Up!”

A vote for Raheem is a vote for mediocrity, apathy and excuses.

  11. justin Says:

when will roger goodell wake up and tell the glazers to spend money or sell the team i dont get how these owners can screw the city of tampa the way they do and get away with it

  12. Thomas 2.2 Says:

Anyone not related to Rah Rah who did not vote – Fire him now either: enjoys losing constantly or believes that football is scored like golf meaning fewest points wins.

This is historically bad NFL football, even for us. Dungy and Gruden were good coaches fired bc they couldnt sustain greatness – Rah Rah has sustained record bad football! He should have been fired last Monday.

  13. eric Says:

hopefully they wont replace him with jimmy lake

  14. Holly Says:

I can’t with a clear conscience blame Morris completely. I have to place most of the blame where is belongs. And that would be with the Glazers. They don’t care about the Bucs. I agree that Morris is not ready to be a head coach quite yet. But I don’t think the Glazers are willing to pay the money to get a ‘better’ coach. If we do get rid of Morris, than we also need to get rid of most of the coaching staff. I think there is so much talent on this team and if we could get the coaching staff to bring out the talent, than who knows how far the Bucs can go.

  15. pewterpirate99 Says:

Hey Glazers, listen up. I have a family of 4 and we WERE season ticket holders, were being the key word. I know you might not care but I’m going to let you know anyway. I WILL NOT spend one red sent of my family’s hard earned income on anything Buccaneers ( season tickets, Buc’s gear, parking, concessions, BEER, etc. ) until you show me a real commitment to trying to turn this team into a contender. By that I mean go and get a big name /experienced real head coach and new coaching staff, and if that means getting rid of Dominik to give full control to a Bill Cowher for instance, than do so. Also give this coach the funds and ability to go and get QUALITY free agents to help the young players on this team. The ones that don’t get cut that is.

  16. higher728 Says:

If Raheem is back next year then I’m not. As far as I am concerned, they should make Captain Fear the interim HC. It would be less of a joke than the clowns we are putting on the field now.

  17. GC714 Says:

Am I the only one to think that the team is sending out the message about not wanting this coaching staff?

I don’t believe these players are this bad!

And we all know this is a business but the NFL is Entertainment!!! Being A long time Bucs fan I have not been Entertained!!

Time to step up Glazers or MOVE ON!!!!

  18. Patrick Says:

We probably need to jettison both: fire Raheem for his poor coaching and team effort and fire Dom for his failed “rookies only” philosophy. I have no confidence in him that he’ll sign any free agents or do anything to make us a contender NEXT year! he’s also a huge money waster. EJ Biggers will be the next one to get a fat contract from him

  19. RichinNC Says:

This team has a loser mentality now. They have no confidence in how things are going and there is only one way to fix that.

  20. BecklesHeartsRuud Says:

Ready for Rah to go. Its not the losses that bother me. Its the lack of effort by the team to even stay competitive against the bad teams. I expected an ass whipping by Dallas but it was the Jaguars loss last week that crytallized it for me. Raheem Morris had the pulse of this team at one point. He has since lost it. Got to make a change.

  21. mpmalloy Says:

The Glazerhouse boys, who took over for their dad, are arrogant scum.

Raheem…like Gruden, Dungy and Brooks, is another unfortunate casualty of the Glazerhouse boys policies.

We’ll never know if Raheem could have been good, what he tried to build was ruined by paper thin depth and company lethargy.
    We need to start fresh.
But what we REALLY need are better owners.

  22. BecklesHeartsRuud Says:

Regardless of the fact that Raheem must go- Eric and Thomas are still total d-bags because they wanted Raheem gone at 10-6 last year. No one who didn’t have ulterior motives other than the teams actual performance on the field wanted Raheem fired back then. I now support the new majority that wants Raheem gone. I also wish those two total assclowns Eric and Thomas would disappear forever too.

  23. bucfanjeff Says:

Instant gratification yields nothing. Morris should return and changes to staff be made. A new coach doesn’t mean an instant return in ticket sales. With a new coach, people will still wait until they see proof in the product, won’t like the new coach, complain about the Glazers, etc.
Our collective opinions mean nothing, the Glazers are going to do what they want.

  24. Scotty in Fat Antonio Says:

I am curious to see what the Fox panel says this morning on the pregame show….If anything. This does not include the usual ass kissing they will do on the Cowboys win last night.

  25. bucfanjeff Says:

And I’m going to continue to beat the ‘we are not a run first team’ drum.

  26. mpmalloy Says:

With respect to my above post:
I’d have to correct the part about the firing of Tony Dungy
being an “unfortunate casualty of the Glazerhouse boys policies.”
The firing of Dungy was actually done by Malcolm in order to hire a more EXPENSIVE coach and in order to achieve REAL success…

  27. AceOfAerospace Says:

It’s 11:35 am Sunday…and they haven’t fired Raheem and Olson yet? Last night during the game someone cleverly posted they should be yunemployed, I second that emotion. Someone grow a pair and make the call. We would be just as well off naming Freeman and Barber offensive and defensive player coaches. Better yet, name E. Graham interim coach. Anything would be more entertaining than this garbage. At least if they fell on their face then, they would have an excuse..

  28. CreamsicleBananaHammock Says:

A few weeks ago I wanted Raheem back with new coordinators

That is no longer an option. The wheels have completely fallen off.

Let offer an example. Now I know that this is a small meaningless thing but did you notice Mike Williams, Dez Briscoe and Aqib Talib’s socks last night? Bright red, when the rest of the team was wearing the standard black.

Now don’t get me wrong, the red looked sweet and I think the team should make the switch immediately, but that’s the thing. Something like that you do as a team not as individuals. I know it’s a small thing but it’s a microcosm of the lack of discipline this team has right now. Instead of worrying about the Cowboys you had guys worrying about their red socks. Meanwhile, I’m guessing Briscoe was told at halftime that they were going to be fined for the socks so he changes back into the black.

Now this is why this nonsense is important. Instead of Dez Briscoe meeting with his teammates at halftime to go over adjustments he has a conversation w someone letting him know he’s about to get fined for freaking socks……so he’s worried about changing instead of the Cowboys.

Again, I know this is a small thing, but do you think the thought of wearing red socks would have even crossed their minds with Tom Coughlin or Bill Parcells here? The answer is simple: hell no

  29. BR Says:

this the worst team we’ve had since 1976(yes I’ve been watching that long). What we need is a whole new organization from the owners on down. Even if it takes 3 seasons to get back on track.

  30. B.D Says:

for all of those who think we shouldnt. get a coach that uses the 34 defence because of our personel, tell me, what the hell good would it do to get one who uses the 43? none of these players can play the 43 anyways!get a good coach that uses the players hes got to their best advantage. If I remember right,we didnt use the Tampa 2 because it was a great Idea,it was because it was what we had to do,we couldnt play man to man. it was a way to cover our weakness this is great coaching in my opinion. do what you do best. I say if you can get a Bill Cowher, go for it,clean house and keep what is salvagable

  31. JK Says:

The picture of Bryan Glazerhouse says it all. What a goober! I wonder if the family thinks they are the sole reason the Bucs won their superbowl. Hire, fire, and cut like a Walmart clearance rack. We’ve got a discount coaching staff at rockbottom pricing. However we can all blame it on stinkin Gruden, can’t we Joe? Why don’t you have a poll where the question is: Would we welcome Gruden back?

  32. BecklesHeartsRuud Says:

We have the personnel to play 3-4. McCoy, Price, Clayborn, Bowers can all play as 5 techs. Bowers even has the athleticism to play OLB in a 4-3 ala Mario Williams in Houston. Price and Okam could both man the NT spot. Dekoda Watson could play outside rush linebacker. They are already using him as linebacker\DE tweener anyways. Mason Foster could play inside in a 3-4 but has some pass rushing skills and could also play outside. With the versatility of the current D-line personnel and Watson\Foster all they would really need to do to make the switch is draft a badass pass rushing outside linebacker early in the draft.(very doable since we should be drafting top 10 if not top 5, we could potentially have a shot at the best 3-4 OLB in the draft)

  33. NickinMelb Says:

A total debacle. The Glazers should be ashamed of what this team has become but they sit in their ivory tower in silence when they let much better coaches go for much less reason. And why? Obviously its all about cash now. Now more excuses Glazers your gig is up. Cheap GM hire, cheap Head Coach hire and no free agents equals an ownership who could care less about fan happiness and only about their bottom line gross. As I said the Glazers should be ashamed. The Super Bowl victory is such a distant memory. Such a sad day as a Buc fan.

  34. NickinMelb Says:

As a Buc fan who was taken by the Culverhouses greed its not fair that the same city must go through such terrible ownership twice. What a flashback. Where are owners that care about the city and care about the fans???? Not in Tampa apparently. Thanks Glazers I can’t stand you.

  35. Cleggly Says:

    I like Jeff Fisher.

  36. B.D Says:

I aggree, I think we could play a 34 with a couple additions here or there,I dont think some of these players on the team are going to be here next season anyways.maybe a new experienced coach will bring some people with him that will help replace the dead wood.(friends)

  37. Thomas 2.2 Says:

Who are the assclowns now? Eric and I who know football well enough to see that they were bad last year despite being gifted 6 or 7 wins; or you sheep who were proclaiming super bowl and an easy 13 wins.

Lol! I am rolling on thd floor laughing! Rah Rah cliche in the super bowl. Youngry, running bulldogs, trophies with last names that end in L. LOL, ha ha ha

  38. Capt.Tim Says:

The Glazers spent a friggin fortune on Gruden. Not just draft picks, but multimillions in cash payed to Al.

Believe it, they demand improvement and want to win.

I think the Jeff Fisher deal is about a done deal- and he is a great coach, who habitually was a playoff participant.

I think the only other option is a favorite choice of mine. Wait and see if Philly really drops Andy Reid. That’s a great coach, he doesn’t want to set home

  39. BajaAlabama Says:

After seeing Dom with the headset, what are we supposed to think? Has Rah really been handcuffed by management that much? Remember the “phone call” a couple years ago when he inserted Freeman into the lineup? At the same time, Rah was hired because he could “relate” with the young players and get them to perform. That just isn’t happening. A total organizational failure. Rah’s a good guy, and I’m sure Dom is too, but it’s time for both of them to go…

  40. Patrick Says:

Wow, I just went back and read the TBO article from January 2009 that Joe linked to the above article.

I looked at the comment thread on the article. It’s just laughable and a joke when I read the comments on there. Everybody thought Raheem was such a great hire and didn’t care that he was inexperienced and all that crap. Everybody thought that the “plan” would work and that we would be a playoff team in 2 to 3 years.

LMAO…..look where we are now! Everybody go comment on the three year old article and please update it LOL.

  41. B.D Says:

they may wait to see whos available after the playoffs, but I think they may have made their decision on Morris already.just hope its someone with more experience

Totally agree with this post. The plan or “cheap plan” hasn’t worked out for anyone other then the owners pockets and some of this current coaching staff to pad theirs. I’m not sure if anyone was at the stadium or watched on tv but did you see Jerry Jones on the field and on set being interviewed?
This isn’t Cowboy stadium boys it’s ours.. absolutely ridicuoulous and just fueled my disconnect with this team.

  44. Hillbilly Heaven Says:

Stop with the Fisher talk – have a look at his record – he’s nothing special.
Cowher is not stepping into this mess either. Let’s be realistic and stop dreaming.

Morris should be gone today but won’t be because there is no one on the staff that is qualified to take over: that should tell you everything about the way this team is put together.

    Next coach? Who knows.

Billick or Zimmer are far more possible that what you guys are dreaming about

  45. Niko (The Optimist) Says:

Even the Optimist can see the writing on the wall. The only reason he may not get fired now is because the statement needs to include Olsen too, who is going to coach this team? And it does matter, because I can watch 31-15. I don’t want to see 62-3

  46. BecklesHeartsRuud Says:

Couldnt agree more. 17 seasons in tennessee and Fisher never got it done. Its almost hilarious that people want Morris fired after 3 season(one of which was a winning one) only to bring in a guy that was given near eternity with his team and never got the job done. As long as we’re talking retread coaches who never won a Super Bowl I’d rather see someone like Marty Schottenheimer who has turned multiple franchises into contenders. Schottenheimer’s firing from San Diego after 14-2 was ridiculous.

  47. BecklesHeartsRuud Says:

Personally I vote for a coach from the college ranks. Don’t know who since I couldnt really care less about college ball but none of the retread NFL coaches who would actually come here really float my boat. Is there another Harbaugh brother floating around somewhere?

  48. BecklesHeartsRuud Says:

Hillbilly- and as far as Brian Billick goes…HELL NO!!! I don’t want a head coach who’s main teaching method will be telling the players how everything is “simple as a screwdriver”.

  49. Fear The Glow Says:

Schefter is now reporting that the Bucs might not fire Morris but force him to step down as defensive coordinator and hire Jimmy Lake to run the defense.

    Well isn’t that just brilliant…

  50. Thomas Says:

    LOL at baretterudd! good one!

  51. Thomas Says:

meant to say LOL at becklesheartsrudd. GOOD ONE! =)

  52. Hillbilly Heaven Says:

Beck…Not saying I want Billick, I dont. I just want to make a point that no tier one coach would come near the Bucs and that Fisher is not the answer.

Personally, I would want Les Miles over anyone out there but that ain’t gonna happen.

Just get Raheem out so I can start looking forward to 2012

  53. Tampa2 Says:

    @becklesheartsruud
Please add me to your hated list. I have been wanting Raheem gone since he was promoted from Ass’t DB to HC in 2 weeks. He was, is, and always be an amateur coach. Probably a nice guy, but still an amateur that never should have been promoted to DC, much less HC. And if you cannot see that last year was a fluke you are blinded by your man-love for Raheem.

  54. SteveK Says:

Wow, we suck and Rah should be gone. Next man up, this is for coaches too.

  55. Rickster07 Says:

You. Get. What. You. Pay. For!!!!!!!!!

  56. Niko (The Optimist) Says:

Actually, I think Jimmy Lake will make an excellent D coordinator.
