Jeremy Trueblood Blasts Deion Sanders

December 20th, 2011

“And I respect Raheem Morris with the utmost respect. But a lot of these guys has quit, man. They’ve shut this thing down. I know quit when I see quit. And quit is not disguised tonight. It’s evident they’re not mentally, physically, emotionally in this thing tonight.”Deion Sanders on NFL Network at halftime of the Bucs-Cowboys game.

Those were the damning words of Pro Football Hall of Famer Deion Sanders at halftime of the NFL Network’s broadcast last Saturday when discussing the Bucs.

Of course the players never heard it until later. And those words from Sanders irked Bucs offensive tackle Jeremy Trueblood who blasted Sanders today, via Rick Stroud of the St. Petersburg Times.

“Basically, he doesn’t play for us. He’s an outsider looking in,” Trueblood said of Sanders. “Great player, but that doesn’t mean he knows exactly what’s happening in our locker room and on our field. You know, you respect what people have to say, but you don’t always have to agree with them.

“We wouldn’t have done better as the game went on, so I don’t really find any merit in that at all. The offense started playing better toward the end, if we had quit, that wouldn’t have happened.’’

Well, if Trueblood is angry at Sanders, then he should also be mad at his head coach, embattled Raheem Morris who admitted his team didn’t give a great effort in the Bucs’ eighth loss in a row.

  1. Meh Says:

The offensive line was the worst of the quitters Saturday night too. Trueblood should just be quiet. We all saw the game.

  2. Tye Says:

The Cowboys had already man-handled the Bucs the whole 1st half, Trueblood, or do you remember 28-0 at half-time…. The Bucs looked better the 2nd half because the Cowboys were just playing to run out the clock at that point….. I am sure the Cowboys could have scored more than 3 pts the 2nd half if they really wanted to…. They sure did it oh so easily the 1st half!

  3. Nick Says:

Sack, fumble, TD for Bucs on opening Dallas series of 2nd half

  4. RastaMon Says:

    STFU…Trueblood

  5. jb Says:

NOT much uglier than FALSE PRIDE!

  6. BucForce Says:

The players need to get their stories straight and listen and try and translate their head coaches day after press conferences before trying to refute these stories.

  7. Anthony Says:

Of all the people who don’t get to say anything, Trueblood is #1

  8. mindyr Says:

If they didn’t quit it may be worse since that means they just suck even when they are trying to win

  9. Jrock (mobile) Says:

Trueblood… just stop while you’re behind bud. Show us you don’t quit by going one game without a penalty or allowing a sack

  10. FIRE RAH! Says:

ok i want to put a thought in. if we took almost all of our players minus talib trueblood black lumpkin moore mack and biggers sprinkle some practice squad in and send them down to new orealans or up to green bay or even frisco leaving our coach behind i bet this team would be in the thick of a playoff race. our coaching staff is clueless. we have a lot of young talent that is being set back and almost destroyed. its so so sad. i love this team and it hurts to see this crap. thoughts anyone? well except for ron and niko we know you two are drunk on spiked koolaid.

  11. FIRE RAH! Says:

sorry i also meant they play for those teams coaches i worded it all wrong. so ya if they dressed for those teams for a season

  12. Architek Says:

    Just dumb…

  13. Chargedcbh Says:

I live by these words and maybe Trueblood should too.
“It’s not what you say, it’s what you do!”
And they haven’t done s**t all year!!!!!
Should ah, could ah, would ah but you didn’t!!!!!!
So walk while you talk, right off this team! THIS team STINKS!!! And what have you done about it Trueblood and everybody else?
    Where is your PRIDE?

  14. MTM Says:

Truedud should comment on something he knows alot about: Non existent blocking, false starts and holding. This penalty laden sack of sh*t needs to be gone next year.

  15. RastaMon Says:

    another Trueblood false start….

  16. D-Rome Says:

“Great player, but that doesn’t mean he knows exactly what’s happening in our locker room….”

OK, so I’m left wondering what is happening in their locker room apart from normal NFL activities.

  17. squadoosh Says:

That was hardly a blast….more like a mild disagreement. These guys aren’t passionate about anything. No pride in this bucs team.

  18. CreamsicleBananaHammock Says:

    I agree with you squadoosh…..

I’d love to see one of our guys talk smack about the Panthers, guarantee a win, get pissed when they’re pulled from a game (looking at you #5) anything to show a little bit of life and swagger

  19. Pete I Says:

Frankly I don’t want to know whats going on in the locker room, if its as bad as what happens on the field during the game, well, I just can’t take any more trainwrecks in Bucs gear!

And the Bucs still have the big brass ones to expect payment on dec 22 for next years season tickets. I cancelled my credit card just to make sure they can’t charge me another cent unless I choose to be so mugged!

  20. RastaMon Says:

“I cancelled my credit card just to make sure they can’t charge me another cent unless I choose to be so mugged!”

I did the very same thing….renewing is an act by the customer…not a sleazeball auto renewal…many people have different email accounts for different purposes…I am sure they will be many that are not aware until it shows up on the next credit card bill. For as long as I can remember the new ST bills arrive and the NFC/AFC Championship weekend. Last yeat it was early Dec and this it is the 21 Dec. Although the do allow 10 monthly payments which is very reasonable

  21. BigMacAttack Says:

Trueblood, only has himself to blame. When you suck and play poorly, you will get all kinds of negative press. Some comments will make sense and some won’t. Maybe Deon was a little off base, but not much, and the Bucs with False Start Holding Trueblood are 100% at fault. if you play well and win you will get positive press. Jeremy obviously failed his rocket science course. Further more, of all the games for an offensive lineman to complain, he chose this one, easily their worst game in 2 years. The O line play was nothing short of atrocious. I can easily see Truebonehead getting his walking papers in a couple of weeks.

  22. BigMacAttack Says:

Save your anger and venom for the field and your opponents. Dumb@$$!!!

  23. Mokeybear Says:

Well, Jeremy…we’ll see on Sunday, won’t we?????

  24. passthebuc Says:

How would he know if someone quit. He is so far away from the action he gets his information by post card.

  25. GenocideD Says:

I don’t feel Trueblood’s quotes are offensive, rather defensive and sticking up for the team. I agree he hasn’t played well this year but he’s far from lashing out at anyone, IMO. Thanks Davin Joseph for not resigning without him…

  26. TheProsUseAdvoCare Says:

I would never knock Trueblood with a lack of effort. He plays hard every game. His problem is that he is not very talented as a RT.
