“He’s Absolutely Going To Play This Week”

October 13th, 2011

Wondering whether Tanard Jackson will go from a yearlong NFL league suspension Monday to staring down Drew Brees in the Bucs’ secondary in only six short days? St. Pete Times beat writer Rick Stroud has the answer for you.

“He’s absolutely going to play this week [against the Saints],” Stroud told J.P. Peterson on WQYK-AM 1010 this afternoon.

It’ll be interesting to see how much Jackson actually gets in the game. Of course, the Bucs still must officially add Jackson to the roster.

If he plays a lot, what does that say about the value of Corey Lynch? And what would it say about the value, or lack thereof, of training camp and practice?

With LeGarrette Blount out, this is going to be one wild Sunday.

This is already turning into a 3 ring circus.

09′ T-Jacks starts blooming into a super star safty. Gets busted a 4th time, suspended for (at least) a year.

Grimm steps in, plays great. Looks like he is going to have a big future for us. Sadly gets injured and put on IR.

Next man up! Larry Asante is starting to look like the next starter on the team, end 2010.

Begin 2011. We Draft Amhad Black, Glorified College player hoping to replace the Tanard because of all the “unknowns” dealing with his suspension.

Lock out. No Training camp. Nothing for us fans to do but analye every inch of this team. At the time some fans believed this notion”Doesn’t seem like we are going to need T-Jack even if he comes off suspension”.Grimm, Jones, Asante, Lynch , Black. We are stacked.

Lock out ends, Training camp begins. Amhad Black (nearly invisible) sent to practice squad.

Grimm, looking sluggish. 3 games in gets Injured again. Put on IR.

Lynch named starter. he Played ok at best.

Now Talib is having issues. Now WE NEED Jackson.

Kinda weird how all the pieces fell into place. It didn’t look like we were even gonna bring him back at one point this off season.

But in one major way i think he will help the team.. for what ever reason i have noticed a HUGE increase in Aqib Talibs stats, aggressiveness, and production when Jackson is in the game.. Those 2 kind of feed off each others talent and energy.

Talib has lobster hands he should have at least 5 int’s he’s giving up mucho bigplays this year Pierre the waitor wiped his ass with him he needs to get his act together everyone is throwing at him he’s dogmess this year

Like i said. I’m hoping the Tanard/Aqib reunion turns out for the best. They seem to bring the best out in each other. Having a talent like T-Jacks step back into the locker room (especially after the loss we just had last week) this could bring a spark to the team’s motivation.

  4. 941-Bucs Says:

See Jackson really is the only other DB who has the talent and athletic ability to compete with Talib’s (supposed) star power. Talib seems to feed off of it and plays at a much higher rate.

Bash brothers are back babay! Talib even said himself “That’s my daaaawwwg” when asked about T Jack over the summer

Of course he makes Talib’s life easier. When you don’t have to worry about a QB going over the top, it gives you a smaller field to cover.

I don’t know who really thought the Bucs would be okay without him. The guy is an elite talent who can cover, play the run, makes big plays and knows how to lay the wood.

I really like Grimm, but he just doesn’t have anywhere near the upside of TJack.
