Love the video Joe! I have a feeling that all those QB hits that McCoy had last year are going to turn into sacks with this guy pushing the outside. Great first step to the draft. If we can get Bailey in the 2nd, our DL is set for years. Love it!

  2. Hunter Says:

I like the guy, but he misses A LOT of tackles…

  3. Brandon Says:

Does he show a legit professional pass rush move in any of those clips? I’m sorry, but this feels like a reach to me. Costonza, Carimi, or Jordan all seemed like better picks to me…

  4. CaliBucFan Says:

Is this from his junior year?

  5. Joe Says:

    CaliBucFan :

    Yes.

JOE- Post some of his VS. videos from youtube highlighting his performances from full games not this brief snippet crap. Show the people his dominant potential.

  7. WeNeedDefense Says:

Wow… I just found a terrible video on the guy, right after I watched Joe’s snippit.

    Not good.

WeNeedDefense, I’m not quite sure what you expected out of that matchup. That was two 1st round players going up against each other and each one got the better of the other a couple times. I do know one thing though, I did see what would be called a sack / forced fumble in the NFL, along with a couple other QB pressures.

  9. WeNeedDefense Says:

Damn near every LT in the NFL is a first round pick. McCoy and Price better bring there own pressure too. That and Rah needs to cut out that 3 man line crap too with all of our investments along the D line.

Did anyone notice Farely going to the Lions??? Holly crap! Teamed up with suh!!! WOW! And we get to see them in game 1!

  10. Patrick Says:

    @WeNeedDefense

Terrible video? Clayborn made some pretty damn good plays from what I saw in the video.

    Agreed, 100%!

    Agreed, 100%!

    Not happening anytime soon.

Joe was listening to Pat Kirwan on Sirius NFL Radio today and he was saying how virtually every defense in the NFL is a hybrid defense meaning some play three-man fronts, sometimes four-man fronts, sometimes two-man fronts and even no-man fronts.

Can’t remember who the quarterback was but there was a play Chucky showed that there were no defensive linemen with their hands on the ground. It was like there were five linebackers and six defensive backs.

  13. WeNeedDefense Says:

I will say this, I watched an interview of him after a loss… the guy is a leader, you can just tell. He def ain’t a biotch in any way. He manned up and faced the press when he didn’t have to. Him and McCoy and Price will lead this defense for years to come.

  14. HIRE GREG OLSON! Says:

    WeNeedDefense,

I’d say that Carimi won the run blocking battle and Clayborn won the pass rushing battle. He had a strip. It definitely wasn’t a dominant performance from Clayborn by any means. But people forget that these guys will improve. The guy has a great motor, despite his somewhat slow get off. Hopefully Stretz and Millard can get GK, Price, Clayborn and the “missing link on LDE” to be a mean unit.

I wasn’t thrilled with the pick, but like I’ve said before, Dominik has earned the benefit of the doubt.

  15. gotbbucs Says:

Joe, in regards to your response. I don’t have a big issue with running a 3-3-5 or or 3-4 in some 3rd down situations. What I want is for them to accumulate players for their base defense first before they try to get too cute with these nickel defenses. They need to be able to operate effectively out of their base first and foremost, then maybe they can start looking at some hybrid players.

  16. TJ Says:

I really hope he works out not saying he wont just find it a little funny this is 2010 highlights not 2011 caue he did not have a good year in 2011

  17. John Says:

@weneeddefense Did you play the whole video? he had a forced fumble, flushed the QB out of the pocket for a Incompletion and then made a tackle on the running back with the LT drapped all over him..

Are you expecting a highlight ever play cause that never happens.. I am OK with the pick.. I think we shoulda moved up to get prince.. but Clayborn was a need.
