Draft Buzz: Will Bucs Face Cam Newton Twice?

March 8th, 2011

Health concerns swirl around Daquan Bowers.

Hold on to your laptop! Leading the charge to be the No. 1 overall pick by the Carolina Panthers in April is Auburn QB Cam Newton.

That means the new and hopefully improved Bucs pass rush could get to feast on some rookie meat.

All sorts of news on that today. Draft guru Justin Pawlowski, The Commish, explains in today’s draft buzz podcast.

    I sure F*****g hope so. That guy will sink that ship for the next 5 years, unless a rookie wage scale is implemented. (Face Cam Newton twice, that is)

  2. Bucfan66 Says:

    I apologize for hijacking this post Joe but I can’t help myself….

    Let’s get to the real news…Tiki to Tampa!!?

  3. Snook Says:

    I hope so, too. But if not, we’ll still get Jimmy Clausen instead…

    Win/Win either way!!!

  4. HIRE GREG OLSON! Says:

    @Snook, I hear ya.

    @BucFan66, no f-ing broseph…

  5. HIRE GREG OLSON! Says:

    *No F-ing Way

    Typing like an idiot today…

  6. m.wesley Says:

    I like it either way,Tikki for one thing will teach Huggins ,Blount to condition their bodies because huggie bear may need that and I hope we face a rookie qb every game. back to Tikki he may not be known as a great lockerroom guy but he was a pro, not getting in trouble always in playing shape,being with his brother I cant see Ronde acting like him but I can see him acting like Ronde and being a team player,he had a successful career he is missing a ring.Will he change to get it ?I think yes

  7. HIRE GREG OLSON! Says:

    36 year-old running back, have you lost your mind??

  8. Patrick Says:

    36 is pretty old for a running back, but I wouldn’t mind giving it some consideration. I’m sure he’ll come on the cheap. Also, I actually think Tiki could come in here and be a good veteran backup. I doubt he’ll be like Ward. He’s had almost 5 years of no tackles and no stress on his legs.

  9. admin Says:

    Joe here,

    Look for Joe’s post about Tiki in the early morning. …And yes, some of you have lost your mind. …That’s all Joe’s sayin’ right now.

  10. Vince Says:

    I wouldn’t take Tiki at the expense of Caddy. But if he’s on the cheap, willing to work hard…why not? If anything it’ll just keep Ronde fired up and playing at an extremely high level. The competitive spirit between the two would be great.

  11. Vince Says:

    Oh and about Newton haha:

    If I were a Panthers fan, I’d be extremely disappointed with Newton. The Panthers need stability and leadership—a veteran who can win them some games. Newton needs an established team who can teach him how to play. The Panthers should trade down to somewhere in the top ten and just sign a free agent quarterback and get a pick in the second round.

  12. Capt. Troll killer Tim Says:

    If we’re lucky we’ll get to play Newton 2 times a year! He’s jerkmarcus Russel all over again.a straight up thief and ghetto guy- give him a million and watch him implode!

  13. IMHO... Says:

    @ Capt. Troll killer Tim

    people have said that exact same thing about Josh Freeman and how’s that looking? Considering they have tha same measurables(height, weight) and qualities(mobility, big arm). Also if u dont like thiefs and ghetto guys then u sure as hell aren’t a Bucs fan cause im pretty sure some are from tha ghetto and not cause they wanted 2 be. Ghetto is a place of poverty, not a way of acting by tha way.
